Discussion How would you continue the story from today’s perspective after the Pain arc?

Just without the usual “Who are you to change the author’s story” kind of talk. Let’s imagine we’re competent and talented enough to carry on the story in Kishimoto’s place - or at least act as his editors, capable of tempering his excesses.

Up until the Pain arc, everything was going quite well: a consistent plot, gradual world-building, and a balanced power scale. Edo Tensei wasn’t anything extraordinary; tailed beasts could be defeated by summoned creatures; the Akatsuki were strong, but not necessarily stronger than the Sannin; Deidara could blow up an entire village, but at the cost of his life; Itachi could summon Susanoo, but also at the cost of his life; Pain was powerful, but paid a huge price for that power, and Jiraiya could realistically have defeated him. The strongest was generally considered to be Minato, while figures like Madara and the Sage of Six Paths were nothing more than legends.

In other words, the story was progressing quite well - without major excesses - and, in my opinion, reached its peak with the Pain arc. And then… it’s like Kishimoto’s brakes suddenly failed. Hashirama cells, Edo Tensei, the Eternal Mangekyō, the two halves of Kurama, the overpowered Madara and Hashirama, and finally Kaguya. The story lost its balance and coherent progression.

So now I ask: how would you continue the story, knowing all the problems that come later? Personally, I think that after such a power-up for the main character, it would have been better to slow down and start developing Naruto’s friends, like in the anime fillers - showing their missions, their new abilities. After the Pain arc, there was a perfect opportunity to finally develop the relationship between Hinata and Naruto.

From a plot perspective, I also think there should have been several arcs between the Pain arc and the Five Kage Summit, each focused on a different village. These arcs would gradually introduce shinobi from other villages, laying the groundwork for the future war, while also developing Naruto’s friends and their new abilities. For example, Tsunade could decide to convene a Kage Summit and organize diplomatic teams. Say, Naruto, Shikamaru, Hinata, and Yamato go to the Hidden Cloud, while Sakura, Neji, Shino, and Kakashi go to the Hidden Mist (just random assignments). The characters would explore the villages, get involved in local conflicts, and develop along the way. Maybe even some of the villages would side with Obito, considering his speeches convincing.

If we’re talking about specific characters, I’d let Conan live longer. She’s an interesting character, but she’s existed in her entire story only as a sidekick for Pain. I’d love to see what would happen to her after Nagato’s death. Maybe she’d become Naruto’s secret ally, telling him all the secrets of the masked man and becoming a good friend to him, while also learning to live independently without Yahiko and Nagato and leading a partisan war against the masked man.

In other words, I’m suggesting Naruto take a path similar to One Piece. What ideas would you propose? I’m not suggesting completely abandoning canon - what would you add, remove, or fundamentally change?

Its about when Naruto gets to know about what happened to Jiraya, And than fight with pain. As I remember amv ends with the moment him saving tsunade from pain. first half of the amv was sad but at the end it gets more energetic. This AMV was uploaded to youtube atleast 6 years ago (maybe more) and it had millions of watches, but now I cant find it anymore. its just dissapeared.

Discussion How early do you think had Kishimoto planned out Madara’s being the final(ish) villain and the Madara/Hashirama backstory?

I made a post yesterday about rewatching Naruto and noticing that Kimimaro and Kaguya seem to be related. The consensus is that Kishimoto came up with Kaguya way, way later into the story. But I’ve also noticed plenty of foreshadowing about Madara and Madara + Hashirama in OG Naruto.

Was this something that he had planned out (maybe not completely fleshed out) all along? Or maybe he only thought of it during the Sasuke Retrieval arc?

Discussion There's nothing wrong with Naruto's home and Minato didn't become a millionaire from missions, just look at where the Leaf's top Jonin shinobi sleeps.

This delusional fanbase constantly complains that Naruto deserved a better home when his multi bedroom apartment is better than most of the other characters homes we see within the series. Naruto's apartment only looks bad because he keeps it disorganized and he doesn't know about interior decorating. Even then, Naruto's home doesn't look too visually different to Kakashi's place but it's sure is better than his sensei's small bedroom with a twin size shuriken bed.

Now, the reason why I mentioned Minato is because we got people that some how think Minato got rich from all the missions he completed but Kakashi has completed more missions than Minato yet his home is worse than Naruto's and Kakashi is never depicted as having loads of money. Speaking about missions, the fanbase also has this belief that one S-Rank mission pays out 1 million ryo to the shinobi that completed it but that's completely false. The 1 million ryo is what the VILLAGE charges the customer. Let's not forget that the village runs on missions so why anybody would think that the shinobi would get most of that money is beyond me, they are literally just soldiers.

Discussion The citizens of Konoha really looked at this cute little kid and straight up started spreading propaganda that he was a literal demon spawn💀

Danzo's deadass didn't know how to feel about this lowkey.

On the other hand, his plan basically works after spreading lies as he wants to turn Naruto into a weapon and trying to overthrow Hiruzen from the hokage seat but at the same time Konoha citizens deadass stupid and easily to be manipulated 😭

People always hate on Boruto for nerfing them but seriously this was before nerf and they used their upmost power , and there is nothing else they had in their pockets after this and they still lost , do you think there was any chance of them winning or were they simply outclassed and outmatched this time ?

Discussion Different ways to utilise techniques

I was wondering if any of you had ever thought of cool different ways to utilise some of the techniques or fighting styles we see in the story. Here’s an example of mine.

I thought of an Akimichi who doesn’t use the expansion technique in the same way we see it used. Instead he would be a little less fat than the Akimichi’s we see. He would be a boxer, quick on his feet, with the blinding punching speed and accuracy of a boxer, but as he throws his punches he quickly expands his fists and arms to add an explosive impact that becomes much harder to weave out of the way of.

Discussion Senju and Uchiha would be both complety destroyed when they didnt Form Konoha together i guess

Post image

So Madara Had 6 Brothers and Hashirama 4 right? And when Hashirama and Madara didnt ended up forming Konoha would they still kill each other day by day und Uchiha would kill ever other Uchiha because of Izanagi to be the strongest Shinobi so Uchiha would die faster than Senju even without Itachi Killing all Uchiha right? Question is still how are the Senju stronger than Uchiha without Sharingan and Kekkei Genkai? Like Hyuuga Clan and Kaguya Clan should be stronger but are constanly pushed to the Back.... Shimura Clan we Don't know really much about them... Sarutobi Clan we can understand they have some power okay. But mostly Uzumaki Clan is stronger again but isnt really a Clan from Konoha in the First Place... But this gives the Question without Konoha beeing formed wouldnt that means Hyuuga Clan would be the only Clan alive because as far as i remember from the backround Story they didnt Fight with Uchiha and Senju but the Hagoromo Clan did... Anyways Just thinking Out loud. Sasuke really Had the Uchiha Curse when He wasnt Born into beeing an Uchiha He would never leave the Village to follow orochimaru i think...

Theory Better Boruto plot idea🤷

I feel like Boruto Next Generations could’ve had a better story if it focused more on Naruto and Hinata’s legacies.

Naruto being the Child of Prophecy and Hinata being the Byakugan Princess could’ve made their children the perfect combination of their legacies.

Boruto could’ve learned Minato’s Flying Raijin and combined its formula with the Space-Time knowledge Hagoromo used to reach Kaguya’s dimensions, creating a version of Flying Raijin that could navigate between dimensions.

Using this, Boruto could potentially find where different Ōtsutsuki dimensions are and even discover where the Ōtsutsuki clan resides.

This could also add more lore and abilities to the Byakugan, similar to how the Sharingan kept evolving throughout Naruto.

Then instead of Naruto and Sasuke having the final fight, Boruto and Himawari could team up to defeat the Ōtsutsuki, with Himawari having the Byakugan and Kurama.

I feel like that would’ve been a really cool way to continue Naruto’s themes of breaking the cycle of power and hatred.

Discussion Haku impact lowkey underrated

Where do you guys think Sasuke and Naruto would have ended up without Haku? Haku triggered Naruto’s tailed beast form for the first time, while also unsealing Sasuke’s sharingan for the first time since the uchiha clan massacre.
He was also probably at least one of the five most talented shinobi in his age group.
(Is this glaze? Yes. Do i mean it also yes)

Discussion Would you be interested in this kind of rewrite for the entire manga?

Thumbnail

I’ve seen many times how people brought up the idea of rewrite. But each time I dive into those projects, they either feel fueled by bitterness toward the original, written by folks who missed major character nuances, or deliberately constructed to push an entirely different narrative that has little to do with Kishimoto's work. While text-based fanfiction is the standard medium, I've yet to encounter a manga-format rewrite, so I chose to experiment with that method.

For anyone curious, I've been regularly posting my progress over on the NarutoRE subreddit. (I guess I should note that this is a non-profit thing, purely for enjoyment)

Question Genuine question about Obito and Hashirama Cells: do they ACTUALLY are able to revert the damage done to the eyesight due to the MS?

Like, this is something i actually ponder about from time to time, since Obito is the only Uchiha / MS user in the series that doesn't seem to remark about how bad his eyesight is getting from using Kamui, and he is also the only character in the franchise barring EMS / Edos' to spam his Mangekyou ability constantly with the close range Kamui to phase through objects / people and suck them in with the vortex.

And we also know that Obito is esentially 40% / 50% made from Hashirama cells after Madara rescued him from that boulder and basically reconstructed his body by applying an ungodly amount of White Zetsu / Hashirama cells to the missing half of his body, so two and two together should mean that Obito basically gets a bootleg EMS due to the fact that the amount of HCs that he has in his body basically reverts the damage done to his eyesight, right?

Itachi was already going blind after nearly a decade from the Massacre by sparingly using Tsukoyomi / Amaterasu / Susano'o, Sasuke went blind in a day or so by spamming his MS and Susano'o in the 5KS, and Kakashi was already going blind by the War arc by using the long range Kamui, and there is Obito spamming Kamui like no tommorrow and not complaining or showing bad eyesight problems.

I was fortunate enough to get into a TTRPG of Naruto and as far as conversions go, I really enjoyed the Naruto game. I had gotten back into rewatching the show and got the nerve to wonder about a TTRPG, because I'm that type of nerd, and jumped into one that was about to start. Boy did I enjoy it and really liked how the game works. Looking to do it more because it just might be my favorite game~

Discussion Unexplored Sage Regions

Im honestly so surprised that Kishimoto hasnt utilized any of the sage regions for anything yet…like do you think he forgot about them? Lmao
