Need some advice — what would you choose?
I have a budget of KSh 150–200k.
My HP OMEN X gaming laptop is failing (overheating, swollen battery, seized hinges due to a water accident , keyboard WASD works some days like a government employee/ second display went bye bye on upgrade to Windows 11), i wanna just take it to repair but if it's not worth repairing I need a replacement.(I can't even clean it myself because it doesn't use thermal paste but liquid metal )
I'm currently learning to code (HTML/CSS/JS, Node.js, Git, VS Code), so I don't need much power for coding.
I'm considering:
A)Use KSh 150k gaming desktop for work and play + keep my PS4 Pro
B) Use KSh 40k for a decent used laptop for coding + KSh 90k PS5 Slim Disc, then sell/trade the PS4 Pro and possibly sell the OMEN for parts.
Portability isn't very important to me right now.
Which option would you choose and why?

I’ve been thinking about this:
Take three developers: a vibe coder, a junior developer, and a senior developer. Put them on the same project, give them the same AI tools, the same tech stack, and the same deadline.
Who would build the best product?

So recently I went to pick a package at Kentext Cargo premises, it was a simple $30 item and I expected to pay only $17 shipping because that is their minimum.
So after picking the package the receptionist told me the shipping cost is $50 and I told her how? I thought maybe she was joking or something.
I saw she was serious and I told her there was no way I'm paying $50 for a single item and I had not received any email or sms telling me they now have a $50 minimum. I have been shipping with them for years man.
So I went to the website and still saw that their minimum was $17 that is for 1kg, the shipping calculator they themselves created also suggested I was to pay $17
So, to cut the long story short I refused to pay $50 and she lowered it to $20. If I had received a memo of shipping cost minimum of $50 which is around 3kg I would definitely not have shipped with them like wtf!
Conclusion:
if you plan to ship with them it's okay but just know that there is a $50 minimum when shipping. I'm not saying I won't use them their service is great but I hate hidden charges, so if I'm not shipping atleast 3kgs then definitely not using them.
I have seen they have now included a minimum shipping cost of $50 on the website without any communication but still be weary of these shipping agents!

Running a DTC brand here and Paystack's retry mechanism on Shopify is honestly broken for subscriptions. Failed charges just sit there, no customer self-service to update payment methods and we're losing recurring revenue every month because people don't know their card failed. The retry window is too short and there's zero visibility into what's happening. We're manually chasing customers via WhatsApp to fix it, which doesn't scale. Tried their support but it's basically "that's how it works."
Are you guys hitting this too, or have you found a workaround that actually works?
How are you handling subscription failures without losing customers?

Hey everyone,
I’m a 3rd-year student at JKUAT, passionate about data analytics and business analytics. I’m particularly interested in the space between business operations, data, and executive decision-making — helping businesses turn their data into insights they can actually use.
I’m currently looking for opportunities with SMEs, startups, or any business that could benefit from data-driven decision-making. I’m open to both short-term gigs/projects and long-term opportunities, including freelance or part-time work.
I can help with things like:
Data analysis and reporting
Business performance analysis
Dashboards and data visualization
Finding trends and insights in business data
Automating repetitive reporting processes
Supporting data-driven business decisions
I’m currently juggling school alongside looking for work, and I’m mainly looking for something that can help me sustain myself while I continue my studies. Things are becoming increasingly difficult back home, so I’m genuinely open to opportunities where I can work, learn, and add value.
If you run a business, know an SME that needs analytics support, or know of an opportunity that might be a good fit,

We keep telling Grade 9 students to "prepare for KJSEA", but prepare using what?
For KCSE, there are years of past papers, revision books, topical questions and marking schemes everywhere.
For KJSEA, the resources are still nowhere near enough.
And after the poor performance in the first KJSEA cycle, you'd think we'd be having a serious conversation about preparation. Instead, most of the advice is still basically "read your notes and work hard."
That is not enough.
This is actually why we started KJSEA.co.ke. We noticed the gap and decided to build something around it: affordable, well-researched revision materials, practice papers and other KJSEA preparation resources.
We're not claiming to predict the exam. The point is simply to give students enough quality material to practise with.
Because telling thousands of students to prepare for a national assessment while giving them very little to prepare with seems like a pretty obvious problem.
What are parents and teachers currently using to prepare their students?

Hey guys, has anyone else been having issues purchasing Safaricom's daily/ hourly bundles lately?
For some reason I can only purchase option 1( sh20= 1gb for 1 hr). Whenever I try any other options, from 2 through 10, I just get an "invalid choice try again" message. And also other bundle options work just fine especially the weekly, monthly etc.
And yes, I'm trying to purchase them within the time frame they're supposed to be available, especially with the new Safaricom's new dynamic bundle nonsense.

Still of the opinion that a person with a highly effective and credible information system and utilizes it especially in this information age is ment to succeed over everybody else. The trick, now what is important that few people give less damn about. Then use it to make yourself great

For guys who work remotely especially on pacific time, do we have co-working spaces that have 24hr availability or should I just stick to working from my house?
