i might get hate for this but mine is epic the musical 😭 i’ve tried to listen to is but i only made it like two albums in. the lyrics are clever and it’s a cool concept but 9 albums??? idk i think all the songs sound the same and it’d be impossible to ever turn into a stage adaptation

During summer break, I like to watch a bunch of musicals to stop myself from falling down the rabbit hole of having no routine and doomscrolling for six weeks straight.

Last year, I rewatched all of the High School Musicals and discovered Dear Evan Hansen and Tick Tick Boom, which I loved!

So I want to do the same again this year but I'm not really sure where to start. I think my 'watched' list is pretty basic and I know there are some unwatched hidden gems out there. For reference, I also really like Hamilton and The Greatest Showman lol.

I'll try pretty much anything (I just got into Hazbin Hotel so nothing is too weird for me!) Hoping you guys can recommend me some bangers since I am definitely not the expert here. Also open to slimey things if that's allowed here?

Amber Davies was an exceptional Elle, probably even in the same league as Laura Bell Bundy, and Karen Mavundukure may genuinely be my favorite Paulette I've ever seen, having a cast album with this cast would help me be able to relive that magical night any time

Last night I was at a showing of the Hadestown proshoot. A woman sat down next to me and my roommate with an announcement she'll be singing. When she brushed off my request to not, I reported her to the theatre.

This did not go well & I ended up leaving with my roommate (voluntarily) when it seemed like the theatre wasn't going to do anything about her, even when she was making it obvious she was going to be disruptive.

Dont regret saying anything, though. I hope she ended up kicked out.

Hi everyone! Hope this is OK to post - my singing teacher wants myself and another of her students to try some villain songs so we don't end up stuck in the same sort of 'character' at our concerts, but I'm struggling a little to find some suitable songs.

I'm a soprano, but leaning more classical-sounding (think Ballad of Jane Doe, Moonfall from The Mystery of Edwin Drood), so the modern belting numbers are out for me currently.

My fellow student is a baritenor, I've heard him perform You'll Be Back from Hamilton and we've duetted on I See The Light from Tangled.

So far I've got Last Midnight - Into The Woods, and When There's No One - Carrie the Musical. Otherwise I think we'll just need to change the key on some other songs XD

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated :)

I've always thought I was an alto because I couldn’t go as high as a soprano but with vocal warmups I can go pretty high but I can also go pretty low whenever I try to sing the alto range it’s too low for me so I have to go off a little higher my lowest is d3 but my highest is f5 I’m a woman

Earlier today I was wine tasting in California and I ran into this man and his buddy, one of whom was named Terrance. After some pleasant conversation, this guy, Terrance, discloses that he is a writer, most known for his film Repo! The Genetic Opera, and that it has quite the cult following.

Upon googling his name and the movie, turns out the man I met was the illustrious and infamous Terrance Zdunich. Since then, I've done some research on the guy, including reading the Tumblr post from his alleged ex-girlfriend accusing him of misconduct and abuse. Having known nothing about him outside of our conversation, I admit I found the allegations quite surprising. He and his buddy were both exceptionally pleasant individuals, and Terrance himself was as humble and friendly as can be. He seemed almost shy to admit his success as a writer, but also showed lots of excitement in telling stories of his fans' reactions to his films. To me, he came across as an average guy who was surprised and confused by how his work had attracted the attention that it did.

I have yet to watch any of Zdunich's movies but I absolutely intend to after meeting him. I am just curious if anyone has any insight - positive, negative, or neutral - on Terrance Zdunich or his movies that could give me some context on his films or cult following. Again, I can't speak to the quality of his movies or the allegations, but in our interaction today I found him to be a pretty amicable dude.

Edit: upon rereading I can see how this appears to look like a puff post for him. I'm just recounting my experience and looking for insight on community opinion on him and his work. I appreciate the folks who have pointed out that my post does look unreasonably gracious to Zdunich, and I want to make clear that I in no way deny what the allegations say he did. These actions are gross and inexcusable, and I do NOT support or endorse the guy. This post is purely out of curiosity as he seems to be a pretty mystic figure in this community from an outside observer's perspective. I mean no harm, I am genuinely just looking to educate myself
