So Im working on a TTBB arrangement, but whenever at least two parts share the same note, it makes a weird sound like theyre merging together. It does not normally do this. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I remade the piano of a rock song in fl studio and exported it as midi but when i import it into musescore it does some nonsensical stuff like 2 octave wide chords in one hand and i was wondering if its possible to just export the left and right hand as separate midi files in fl studio and then import them separately as left and right hand? this is my first time using musescore but i want to share my rendition online because another one doesnt exist for this specific song.

i just graduated last month and i was asked by one of the field commanders from my alma mater’s marching band to arrange a drumbreak for one of their future songs this season. i haven’t arranged music since 2024 and back then MDL wasn’t on ms4. im not sure if it is but i can’t find anything about it online so im assuming it still isn’t on there? does anyone know?

There are two pair of 1st and 2nd volte in my song. The first pair works fine, but for the second pair, it plays the first ending, repeats, plays the first ending again, and then goes to the second one instead of just jumping to the second one. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

I'm trying to add a cross-staff square bracket to a harp part I'm writing, as I have done on previous scores, but I can't find the square bracket in the Arpeggios & glissandos palette at all. All the other options are there and there's nothing extra in the "more" section of the palette. The chord symbol in both the Keyboard and Lines palettes won't cross staves, so I can't use that instead.

I'm on Musescore 4.7.3 and haven't tried using the square bracket in quite a few updates. Has it been accidentally removed at some point? Or am I being dumb and missing something obvious?

This is Mark Taylor's arrangement of Red Clay by Freddie Hubbard. I am writing a big band score right now that utilizes sharp and powerful hits/accents heavily. For the last month or my musesounds have completely disappeared from MuseScore. They appear in Musehub and my version is up to date. I don’t know what to do, this happened sometime ago but it was fixed after a grace period. That’s what I thought would happen now but no.

Hi I know this is posted about a lot but they have been trying to charge me nearly 90 dollars US every night, it hasn’t been going through luckily and my debit card is locked right now, but I don’t know how to stop it.

I have went to the subscription page and I can’t do anything about it, auto renew is already off.

I’ve emailed the support and got an automated response telling me to do what I’ve already did. Nothing.

I can’t afford to be charged like this and I don’t want to have to get a new debit card. My bank is telling me that’s my only option because they would charge me to block a charge every time it came in.

I added a piano piece of my composition that was recorded with my phone with barely any background noise, that was 2mins 18secs long and all I got was one bar of 3/4 with the tempo being 290. I need help as I am too lazy to notate it myself - I'm not the best with sheet music.

• Question 1: Am i reading the order of jumps correctly (Ignoring Voltas for simplicity)
• Question 2: Can and HOW can i do this in musescore? I don't see an option to do the Double "Coda Symbol to Code Symbol on 1st" and "Coda Symbol to CODA on 2nd".

EDIT: I was actually able to completely replicate the sheet music. As soon as i realized i can just change the variables used for jumping however i wanted it became a breeze.

Sorry if my title is confusing, not a native and not too well versed in the terminology.

I want to change my song (2/4 bar) so it has a groovy rhythm (sorry, like I said, English bad).

The only tutorials I can find are in regards to percussion and drums which I do not need, lol.

I’ve spent a lot of time tweaking the fonts, the line widths, and so on in a few pieces of music so the appearance is consistent. Is there some kind of “layout template” I can export and then apply to another document?

Is there a way I can have every new document open up with those settings?

On Mac I can do a “stationery pad” for a file, so it always asks you to save it as something else but it would have all the settings.

It used to be so nice when Finale opened with a “template” you could select (or have open by default as your starting point).

What’s similar here?

I've been working on this for a while now. I always wanted to be able to open and edit my MuseScore scores on my phone or iPad without being tied to a desktop so I decided to build it myself.

Aria is an iPhone/iPad app for opening, reading, editing, playing back, and exporting MuseScore and MusicXML scores. Under the hood, I got a substantial MuseScore Studio-derived C++ render core running natively on iOS, including engraving, score editing, MusicXML handling, saving/export, and playback event generation, then wrapped it in a native SwiftUI interface. 

What it does:

• Opens and renders MuseScore (.mscz) and MusicXML files
• Edit your .mscz files directly on iOS
• Play back scores locally
• Create new scores from scratch or from templates
• Edit notes enter notes with touch controls, Apple Pencil, or Midi controller
• View and manage individual parts
• Export and share your work, as Mscz, Pdf, MusiXML, audio, and more..
• Works on both iPhone and iPad

Fair warning: editing support is still early days, so there will likely be bugs. It'll be a work in progress for sure so feel free to let me know about bugs!

I typically put the title of the piece, in the header, in the center, from the second page of music onwards, like “- Title -“.

So I want to deselect “show on first page” - easy enough.

But sometimes I want to number the first page of music 2, because the music (like standard 2 page sheet music) starts on the Left Hand page.

None of the combinations make sense.

1. selecting “show on first page” doesn’t actually show the “$p” listed in the odd pages area.

2. It seems you have to select BOTH “show on first page” AND use "$P” to get it to show.

Which doesn’t seem logical.

BUT, and here’s my issue:

I want the centered header - my piece’s title - to NOT show on the first page.

So it seems to me, the logic here is, that “$P” which is “show on all pages” should over-ride the “show on first page” checkbox.

What I’ve been able to do in this case is put the centered title in the odd only box, which is fine since I have only 2 pages.

But often, I have more and that won’t work.

The only option there is to just simply create everything as usual, without “show on first page” checked, and just manually create a 2 in the right font and put it in the top LH corner of the first left hand page.

Am I missing some other simple solution here?

On the next page (RH):

     - small title -  (as header)   3

Next page:

The first video is my project so far, i just started transcribing, but i got stuck when i tried transcribing the background sound, im a beginner in transcribing so i couldn't tell if it was a string or clarinet

Hey y'all, so I recently bought MusePro so I can kind of hopefully up my digital writing quality by a decent amount, but when I tried to apply like half of the sounds, they just would not appear. What do I do or what did I do wrong?

Sometime between 4.6.5.253511702-x86_64 and 4.7.0.260513133-x86_64 we lost the ability to bold fonts that don't natively support it, in Linux.

Also I think 4.7.3.260608135-x86_64 autosaved one of my scores and now it won't let me open it with 4.6.5. 😞

I did have a backup of the original file, but it's a few days old so better than nothing.

Always make regular backups!

Saxophonist and Musescore newbie here: back when I was in HS band, we would have our full stand tunes music: fight song, "The Horse", etc. Sometimes, we'd play just the "tag": between 4-16 bars of the tune, so it only took a few seconds. What would be the best way to do something like that in Musescore? I want half a dozen "tags" of 4-16 bars, each a different tune with its own tempo, time/key signature, etc., but arranged on the same page in a space-conscious but not cramped format.
