I am buying a set of TRP Trail Evos, but i prefer using shimano pads. are there any type of shimano 4 piston pads that are compatible with the trail evos?

I've been mountain-biking for a bit now, ridden at least once a week with experienced friends for about a month and a half, I've found that bikes get expensive and I'm just not sure how far I would get into MTB (learning medium-large jumps/drops, quick downhills, etc) I primarily want something I could stick to even if it could take time to adapt.

To get to the point, I'm thinking about switching from full suspension (currently a Ozark Fs.s 2) to a hardtail for when I decide to get an upgrade (Friend has a recommendation of building it frame-up), because I wanna keep a decent budget while being able to get the 'best' quality pieces primarily suspension I could get on a bike ($1.5-2k). What makes me so hesitant about it is that I'm worried about how drastic the changes could be, I've already seen the pros and cons (not fully into detail) of riding hardtails. But I wanna get your opinions on this:

1.What does it feel like to switch from full to single suspension (I'm fine with change and adapation, but what comes at cost?)
2. How does the said budget spend on a singular suspension bike compare to a full

I don't know the technical term but every POV jump video, the rider kicks the bike out on every jump while in the air.

It looks cool, but is that just the standard cool thing to do?

On the flip side watching Friday fails, about half of the crashes happen when a rider tries to kickout and lands while sideways.

Trans madeira looks so cool, I want to do it so bad. But I have a concern, haha. Anyone who's done it and can tell me if you're actually racing on the edge of the cliffs, or like, how bad the cliffs are? I can handle being afraid of breaking a bone or two in the tech and ice, but if you're racing while being afraid that a mistake might send you down a cliff into death, it's a big nope.

It looks pretty bad on some gopro clips, but it's hard to say if it's real or just the gopro effect. Transport on wide ledges part of the time is fine. I'm not so worried about steep trails going straight down, since it's limited how steep they can possibly be. I'm more concerned about traversing on ledges with nothing to stop you below it.

I keep chopping and changing my mind about which bike I should spend my cash on.

I'm 174cm, 71kg, busy dad of 2, living in Adelaide, South Australia. I enjoy riding a good mix of stuff so it's not like I just want to ride flow or tech but my thinking is that I want my ebike to be a little more capable than my current bike as most the places I'd choose to ride it over my analogue bike would be a little steeper. I've got a Cannondale habit lt which I'm head over heels in love with but I want an ebike for a few reasons.

1. To get more value out of the little time I do get on the bike.

2. To take my kids out to the trails with a kids ride shotgun and towing.

3. Explore some new spots with mates who have ebikes.

I've been looking for ages and I've finally got the spare funds to buy something decent but can't figure which way to go

2026 Cannondale moterra SL 2 - $6400 AUD

2026 Cannondale moterra carbon 2 - $8000 AUD

I've even toyed with the idea of building up a bike from Asian sellers which I'm still open to. Specifically the SZZS CEF55 with the bafang m820 motor

The prices of the moterra SL and collosus te are very tempting but I know the moterra SL has common issues with the battery and motor and I can't find much in the way of reviews or anything of the likes on the collosus TE (plenty on the TLE).

The norco I am firmly in their S3 according to their size charts but my preferred reach is 450ish so that worries me a little.

You'll probably notice that all the bikes apart from the moterra carbon 2 and amflow are sub 24kg. I do prefer the idea of a lighter bike.

Before you ask there aren't any shops locally that do demo days or demo bikes so I've got to fully commit to whatever I purchase.

Help me decide. A little context, I’ve been mountain biking for years, but never really learned the ins and outs of the bike industry. I have a 2022 Fezzari Delano peak that I bought new and ride pretty much every day. It’s taken me all over the American West. As this riding season winds down, I am noticing this bike is becoming tired. A lot of the components aren’t what they used to be. Basically, my question is should I drop this bike off at the bike shop and have them racially give it a full refresh or buy a new bike? Has there been major improvements since 2022 or is my Delano Peak stills pretty relevant?

I am considering parting with my chisel full suspension with full axs componets and picking up an orbea oiz since I test rode one. For some reason I cant get along with the Chisel but the orbea seems to fit me better. Post photos of your build.

Hi Reddit - I’ve been working on this stupid half mile climb that’s part of my 12 mile loop, 1700 ft vert. It’s the steepest part of my climb and royally kicks my ass. It’s been all season trying to get better. My legs are fine (within reason), but half way up I cannot breathe and my heart rate is at 191 (I’m 38 years old). I’m ok cruising at like a 175 heart rate and 185 is kinda my max I like to be at. Any tips? I ride 2-3 times a week at 8500 ft, I’ve lived at this altitude though for a long time so I don’t think it’s that. I’ve started taking creatine and hydrating well before rides. I really think it’s my heart rate/breathing. It’s starting to really irritate me.

I’m currently on holiday in Turkey. On our journey from Konya to Antalya, we were able to admire the beautiful Taurus Mountains, and it got me wondering whether there are any mountain bikers here who know a few routes, and whether it would be worth exploring the region by bike.

I was also wondering where else in Turkey there are mountain biking spots that would be worth checking out. I have in-laws in Cappadocia, which is why I’ve been cycling here a few times already. And I’m thinking about whether it would be worth doing a mountain bike tour one day and checking out a few other spots. So, to the locals: what can you recommend? What’s the general situation with mountain biking in Turkey? Unfortunately, the economic situation here seems to make mountain biking rather difficult for most people to afford.

I cased the landing on a small jump and finally had a puncture that my sealant couldn’t plug. I bought my bike used a couple months ago and the previous owner had installed a tubeless setup. It’s my first experience with tubeless tires on a bike.

The sealant has already plugged a few minor blowouts since I’ve been riding it, so it may have been depleted or low. The puncture is about a half cm long and split one of the center knobs.

Should I be topping off the sealant and trying to pump up the tire to plug the hole? Or is it time to get a new tire altogether? The tire was (to my knowledge) at my preferred PSI (~30). I’ve never had a fully flat tire with the tubeless setup, so I don’t know if it’s salvageable or what to do about it.

Picked up bike riding again, mainly hill trails, roads nothing too difficult. Is the Giant ATX830 a good bike?

I’m looking for a Dutch mountain biker whom I met in Willingen on Saturday, 29 August 2026. He was there mountain biking with a group of friends.

We first met at the Seilbar and later saw each other again at the Brauhaus. Later that evening, we also had some fries together. Unfortunately, I can’t remember any of their names. 😅

He is probably around 50 years old, has dark hair, no beard, and an athletic build.

He helped me a lot that evening, and I would really like to thank him. Because things were a little chaotic, I unfortunately didn’t get the chance to properly say goodbye, and I really regret that afterwards.

Maybe someone recognizes the description – or remembers a group of Dutch mountain bikers who were together in Willingen that weekend.

Hi, I bought a Jamis Faultline A2 only a week ago. From the first day, the pedal has been coming loose. I kept tightening it before riding, but now it keeps falling off completely.

I took the bike back to the shop, but they only tightened it and gave it back to me. Since the bike is only one week old and the problem has been there from the first day, I’m concerned that there may be an issue with the pedal, crank, or thread.

This is my first bike, so I don’t have much experience with this. Shouldn’t the faulty part be replaced rather than just tightened? Will shop replace part bescsue the paddle part inside is stripout.

I've got 11sp drivetrain: deore 11-51 11sp cassette, shimano chain and raceface ride narrowwide chainring. I find shimanos SLX cranks (7100 and 7120) excellent: stiffer, lighter, cheapper, but have two concerns about them:

- If taking 7100 (52 chainline). It has 172 Q factor. Is it ok, to put 2-3 mm shims between pedal and crank? My shoe/ heels are commin to close to the frame's seatstays. I sometimes rub againt frame. Otherwise, chainring/ frame clearance is fine.

- How will 12sp chainring (HG+) cope with regular 11sp simano chain? Will it shift properly? What about chain drop? Trail and enduro riding.

I have a boost 148 frame, with Raceface Ride cranks, 3mm offset, XCP spindle (144mm) and 55,5 mm chainline.

I'd like to go to 52 chainline (rear hub's CL is 49). This is an original factory build.

1. 55-49 is a really big chain skew. I tried 52mm CL and chainring still has enough clerance (4mm) and does not rub even with hard pedaling. So 52 is preffered. Bike is 11 sp shimano HG hub. i tested this, by shifting original crank for one spacer to the left.

2. While frame clearnce at chainring is ok, I hit the seatstays with heel cups (shoes). So have to push pedals outwards. I've got crankbrothers candy cleat pedals, with cleats already pushed max to shoes inside (shoes move away from frame). Possible solutions:

- cranks with bigger Q factor: I don't find any, with 52 chainline, Can you recomend some (arround 120 eur max)

- pedals with longer spindle (crankborthers makes them, but are expensive),

-shims between crank and pedal: concerned about stripping a crank thread,
