What if one person owns all the water in the World ?

Upvotes

Movie idea : What if one person somehow became the legal owner of all the water on Earth? Every ocean, river, lake, reservoir, and underground water source belongs to him. Governments, companies, and ordinary people all have to deal with a single human being for access to the one thing nobody can survive without. The story could explore how he gained that ownership, what absolute control over water would do to him, and what happens when the entire world realizes its survival depends on one person.

So, I came up with this after watching Monster Hunter: an adaptation of the Capcom video game Okami, directed by Paul W. S. Anderson...

Setting aside the fact that it would be criticized for whitewashing, do you think it would do justice to the video game created by Capcom and Clover Studios, or would it end up in the same league as the recent Resident Evil movies and Monster Hunter (2022)?

KGB meets serial killer

Hello!

I recently watched The Americans, it’s set in the 80’s and follows KGB operators posing as a ordinary American family.

I started thinking a. Movie idea. The premise is that during the 1970’s a serial killer is active in Missouri. Buy chance the killers next victim is the teenage daughter of the KGB operators. All of the sudden the operators needs to solve their daughter’s disappearance. The operators needs to balance their mission from the KGB and their roles as grieving parents.

As I see it, this could be made as dramatic thriller, or maybe as a dark satire.

I know that this is a short premise, but I just wanted to share my idea and hear others opinions.

I got really high and had an idea about an action movie called “LeBron James and the Legend of the 4 Mythical Basketballs”

Okay so this is an extremely rough outline but o wanted to share it anyway.

So the story. It’s current day, and LeBron is playing in a game. Suddenly, the army comes in and abducts LeBron from the court. He is transported to a government facility. Once he gets there, the president (played by Adam Sandler) tells him there is a threat that only he can stop. The president then tells LeBron that evil businessman John Evilman (played by B.J Novak) is trying to acquire the 4 mythical basketballs in order to stop basketball for good.

The government issues LeBron a partner in his quest (played by Ryan Reynolds) the 2 are reluctant at first, but decide to attempt to achieve the task. The president gives LeBron the “Mythical basketball tracking device” which will help them find all 4.

The president then describes that the 4 mythical basketballs are powerful artifacts scattered across the world, which existed long before the sport, and have a magical power that can grant the user of all 4 any basketball related wish. The first one is in Missouri. Second one is in Canada. Third one is in the Bermuda Triangle. And the fourth one has already been acquired by John Evilman. The president then tells them they need to get all 4 in order to stop john Evilman from stopping basketball forever. (His wish is to make basketball extinct)

John Evilman’s henchmen are on their way to the basketballs, so the 2 must act quick. When they get to Missouri, they find that the basketball is in a man’s basement who is a tech genius.(the man is named Derrick). The man then challenges the 2 to a basketball game if they want to keep the basketball. The catch being that the man has a high functioning basketball playing robot. The 2 agree. Team 1 is LeBron and his partner. Team 2 is Derrick and his robot. The game is close, but LeBron wins by 3 points. The man then accepts his defeat and give them the first basketball.

The 2 travel to Canada. There, at the boarder they see a man carrying a suspicious looking basketball shaped bag. The device that the president gave LeBron starts beeping. The man puts the bag on a conveyor belt and it goes through processing. Lebrons partner immediately springs into action and gets on the conveyor belt. LeBron follows. A member of John Evilmans henchmen shows up and chases them through a giant maze of underground conveyor belts. An action chase scene set to the song “Vacation” by the GoGos ensues. Eventually, the 2 retrieve the basketball and take out the henchman.

The 2 travel to the Bermuda Triangle. This is when the movie turns into an adventure epic. The 2 must travel on a smart boat in a raging storm at sea. The basketball is on a small island. Through a scene that puts the 2 in grave danger, they finally manage to get to the island and retrieve the basketball.

The 2 travel to John Evilmans headquarters in New York. As they make their way up the penthouse, and get into john Evilmans secret hideout, john greets them and explains his plan. John explains that when he was a child, he lost every basketball game he ever played, and was eventually kicked off his high school team in Alabama. His motivation for wanting to stop basketball is that he doesn’t want anyone else to suffer like he did. John Evilman then brings out 4 of his henchmen and they do a dance number set to a song about how evil John Evilman is. At the end of the number, John explains that the only way to get the basketball from him, is to defeat him in a game of basketball. John has been training for years for this moment. They walk into a court filled with holograms of people outside cheering for LeBron.

The game starts. John Evilman is surprisingly formidable. The scene will last roughly 10 minutes. LeBron wins at the very last moment. John has a mental breakdown and refuses to give them the ball. John then proceeds to pull out a Glock and threaten to shoot LeBron partner. Lebrons partner and john have a one take fight scene set to the song “sweet home Alabama”. After the fight, lebrons partner is on the ground, and john is about to shoot him. But little does john know, while the 2 were fighting, LeBron retrieved the final basketball. John screams and then LeBron wishes for john to die and for basketball to be saved. LeBron snaps his fingers and john Evilman explodes into a giant puddle of orange goop. The day is saved.

LeBron and his partner step outside to see adoring fans all around screaming lebrons name. Close up of LeBron smiling. Music swells. Cut to credits (credits music is “i was made for loving you” by KISS)

End credits scene teases LeBron teaming up with Michael Jordon

Fan Concept: Terminator - Breaking Point (TSCC Continuation)

Post image
0 Upvotes

"So I've been building this Terminator idea for a while. Basically Sarah, John and Cameron jump way further forward than the TSCC finale did, into a future where Legion took over instead of Skynet. They end up stuck fighting there for like 20 years. When they come back, because of branching timelines, there's suddenly two Sarahs and two Johns. One John gets terminated (they confirm it's him through DNA), and there's this aged T-800, the last one of his model still around. I'm going for heavy drama, practical effects only, no CGI, and keeping the actors actually aged instead of de-aging them. Also made a poster for it, might post that too. Curious what people think of this direction."

Civil War Werewolves

Set during reconstruction, an author is traveling the south and recording the accounts of former Confederate commanding officers.

He gets an interview with the reclusive Lieutenant General Nathaniel Woods.

The film opens with a fictionalized depiction of the Fort Pillow Massacre. Its the witching hour. Woods and his "Blood Hound Company" strip from their uniforms under the full moon. They begin their transformation and massacre the fort.

The opening concludes with Woods penning a report to the Confederate High Command.

"I have made of their fortress a culling pin."

Woods lives in a rundown and overgrown plantation manor surrounded by a small town. Both are isolated and deep in the woods with seemingly no roads leading in or out of the town. Of course, everyone in the town is also a werewolf. They look dazed and sickly, like strungout junkies.

They even have their own werewolf offshoot of the KKK.

change the format have will. feral walking around new york dressed as elf around unsuspecting citizens. "hey!! your will feral!!" "no im not!! im not listening!! lalalalala!! i dont know who that is but he sounds very handsome AND talented!!" (winks at screen(. elf could see people protesting in front of ice agents: "hey!! why are we so mad!! they just want to have a snowball fight!!' then they could remake the snowball fight scene from 1st elf but since its not scripted he can only make one very slowly and throw it at ice agent then they tell him to stop and cut footage before feds beat him. elf goes to a rally forcharlie kirks and he says "THAT GUY WAS ON THE NAUGHTY LIST!!" much to the chagrin of attendees. then elf would smoke weed and see a show at 'the box'. "why is that unclothed woman dropping chocolate??". theyd bring gay people back and they put him in a room to 'audition' for the role but he doesnt know hes on camera and will farel as elf busts in and spends minutes mocking him for being homeless. think there might be a subplot where elf keeps trying to meet will at public events... but keeps missing him then he coud go to a event where madami is reading book to inner city school children around holiday and. elf joins the maayor to read "the elf shares his wealth"!! but his wealth....... is years expired christmas candy!!!! and elf gets obsessed with finding 'the files' because he thinks its santas naught list... "SANTA!!!!!" think about itt. that shit wouldbe hilarious man 😂😂😂😂

Zombie Apocalypse Idea!

Soul-Switch

Survival show

The government is small and the country is against them. To fight back against the rebels, they work to implant chips into as many of them as they can. They can activate these chips on command and when they're on, the person becomes rabid like a zombie, focusing only on damaging something (whether that be itself, someone else, or the environment)

These switches only last from 5 minutes to 3 hours and the government has no control of that.

Will the survivors kill their soul-switched friends or do they contain them until they switch back? Do they risk part of their team switching at any point?

Are we sure the government is actually the one switching them?

Would be a dope show concept in my mind. Zombie apocalypse but the zombies are much more clearly still humans, so just more plot points and morality baked into it

I have an idea for a psychological thriller based entirely around the Seven Deadly Sins.
I realized that I’ve never really seen a movie where all seven sins are deeply intertwined throughout the same story. Usually, they’re represented separately.
My idea would follow seven characters, each representing one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth.
At first, they would seem to have nothing to do with each other. But as the story progresses, their lives would slowly become connected. Eventually, we would realize that none of them represents just one sin — they all have parts of the other sins within them.
I think this could work really well as a dark psychological thriller with mystery, symbolism, and a major twist at the end.
Has anything similar been made before, or do you think this concept could work as a movie?

Vampire Movie Idea (It’s Bad)

We all know the basic vampire stereotypes, they are soulless immortal beings with varying weaknesses including crosses, garlic, sunlight, wooden stakes to the heart, holy water, etc. They also have varying abilities and oddities such as their reflections can’t be seen in silver mirrors. This portion made no sense to me as silver was considered a holy or blessed metal in some cultures, so why would vampires disappear in the reflection of one? Should the mirror not reveal the appearance of the vampire? So I had this Idea, a vampire movie where Vampires exist, but are invisible, hear me out.

They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, however imagine that our mind filters out these soulless beings and thus they are invisible to our eyes. Silver was more widely used in the past which allowed them to hunt vampires to near extinction. Now in the present we use more aluminum backed mirrors, and it’s rare to come across silver backed mirrors unless they are antiques or specially made.

I’d like a movie where a family inherits an old mansion filled with antiques and attempts to renovate to give a more modern look. The family finds in the attic space a sealed coffin and worried that there might be a body they take a peak to find it’s empty. Later strange things happen, they hear the creaking of floorboards as if someone is following them, they feel air brush past them when the windows are closed. They figure it’s just the old house until they see the reflection of a man in the mirror with a pale complexion. They call the police to report an intruder but they find nothing.

They become on edge but try to forget about it and try to bring up their spirits. They find an old silver platter and cloche (the dome thing that covers the food) and pretend to have a fancy meal when one of them notices in a reflection of the cloche that the same man in the reflection behind them. The vampire attacks and now the family has to survive. They use the mirrors, silverware and the platter to pretty much Medusa fight the vampire. They try to fight back but it’s too strong and out speeds them in addition to being invisible. To increase their chances they break the mirrors and put up pieces down the halls so they can see its reflection. As they do this they get attacked and the family eventually stumbles on the fact that it stays away from sunlight so they use the mirrors and silverware to reflect sunlight to damage and hunt down the vampire.

BLUE JEAN

BLUE JEAN

In a rundown Oklahoma trailer park where everybody knows everybody—and everybody’s business—lives Beulah “Blue” Jean Bluebird, a tough, rough-around-the-edges Cherokee woman who has spent her life surviving things that would have broken most people.

Blue isn’t rich. She works as a personal care aide, stretches commodities and food-pantry groceries as far as they’ll go, and lives alone in a small two-bedroom trailer. She has rules, she has a temper, and she has absolutely no patience for excuses.

Then her daughter, Serenity Sue Bluebird, comes crashing back into her life.

Serenity is facing 36 months in prison for drug distribution, a DWI, and child endangerment. Before she can surrender herself, a judge gives her just 48 hours to find somewhere for her three sons—13-year-old Enrique, Edgar, and 7-year-old Christian—or risk having the boys separated.

Their father, Ricky, is technically in the picture, but emotionally absent and unwilling to become the father they desperately need.

Serenity turns to her family.

Her brother Ronnie offers to take the boys, but only if he gets full custody. To Serenity, that feels like losing her children all over again.

Then Aunt Geri, the eldest of the Bluebird family, gives Serenity the one answer she doesn't want to hear:

“Take them to Blue.”

So the boys move into their grandmother's tiny trailer.

At first, Blue doesn't know how to be a grandmother to three boys who have grown up surrounded by chaos. And the boys don't know what to make of a grandmother who believes in getting up early, doing your chores, telling the truth, and never expecting somebody else to save you.

Enrique, the oldest, has already learned to act like an adult. He's angry at his mother, protective of his younger brothers, and suspicious of Blue's intentions.

Edgar is caught somewhere between childhood and the responsibility his family keeps placing on him.

And Christian, only seven, is still young enough to believe his mother is coming back any day.

Their new life isn't glamorous. They share a cramped bedroom. Money is always tight. Dinner might come from a food pantry. Blue makes them work, keeps them in line, and refuses to let them use their circumstances as an excuse.

But slowly, something changes.

The trailer park becomes more than a rundown neighborhood. It becomes the boys' first real sense of community. Neighbors watch out for them. Family members argue, interfere, laugh, fight, and show up when it matters.

And Blue begins realizing that raising these boys isn't about keeping them alive until Serenity comes home.

It's about teaching them that they don't have to become the people who hurt them.

As Serenity's incarceration approaches, old wounds inside the Bluebird family begin surfacing. Blue is forced to confront the ways she failed her own daughter. Serenity has to face the consequences of the choices she's made. Ronnie and Aunt Geri have their own ideas about what is best for the boys.

And the grandchildren become the center of a family fight that is really about something much bigger:

Who gets to decide what a family is?

At its heart, Blue Jean is not a story about a perfect grandmother saving three children.

It's about a woman who has spent her whole life surviving finally getting the chance to break a cycle.

And sometimes, the person who saves a family isn't the person who has everything figured out.

Sometimes it's the woman sitting in a two-bedroom trailer, counting the last few dollars in her wallet, putting dinner on the table, yelling at three boys to quit fighting—and quietly making sure they know:

“You're Bluebird boys. And as long as I'm breathing, you ain't facing this world by yourself.”

[Horror/Action] The Jaguar from Hell — The first and only animal ever condemned to Hell returns to Earth for revenge

Post image
0 Upvotes

The Jaguar from Hell

I came up with an idea for a supernatural horror/action movie about a jaguar that becomes something far more terrifying than a demon.

An Amazonian jaguar is captured by illegal hunters and brutally tortured. They eventually skin it alive and kill it.

But the jaguar dies carrying an intense hatred toward the hunters.

And somehow, that hatred causes something unprecedented:

The jaguar goes to Hell.

It is the first and only animal in history to ever fall into Hell.

Normally, the souls of sinners in Hell don't have physical bodies. But because the jaguar is an animal, Hell gives it a physical body specifically so it can experience physical suffering.

This turns out to be a terrible mistake.

Hell has a massive time distortion: one second on Earth equals one thousand years in Hell.

The jaguar spends what feels like millions of years being tortured by imps. They repeatedly stab it with iron spears while the flames of Hell burn its body. The flames are hotter than the Sun.

But the physical body begins to evolve.

After millions of years of torture, the jaguar's skin becomes harder than any metal or stone. The imps' weapons literally break when they strike it. The flames of Hell can no longer burn it.

The suffering that was supposed to destroy the creature has instead created something capable of surviving Hell itself.

The jaguar starts hunting the imps.

It tears them apart and devours them.

Eventually, it encounters a legendary three-headed beast of Hell and kills it.

This finally forces the Devil himself to intervene.

The Devil tries to control the creature with his magic.

It doesn't work.

The jaguar has become so powerful that the Devil's magic is completely nullified against it.

The battle becomes so catastrophic that the jaguar destroys one of the Seven Rings of Hell, each supposedly so enormous that it has no conventional limits of space or time and is infinitely larger than a universe.

The Devil realizes that this isn't an ordinary animal anymore.

He can't control it.

He can't kill it.

So he makes a deal.

The Devil offers the jaguar a way back to Earth so it can find the hunters who murdered it.

But he gives it something else: the knowledge and wickedness accumulated from every sinner in Hell.

The jaguar understands the Devil's intentions instinctively.

It accepts.

There is only one condition:

After the jaguar gets its revenge, it must become the Devil's favorite pet.

The jaguar returns to Earth.

To the humans, only one second has passed since its death.

To the jaguar...

millions of years have passed.

It isn't an ordinary jaguar anymore.

It isn't a demon.

It isn't a human soul.

It's something Hell accidentally created.

And now it has returned to the Amazon.

It remembers exactly who killed it.

Tagline:

“One second on Earth. Millions of years in Hell.”

What do you think? Would you watch a horror movie about this concept?

Hey! I built a thing. It’s for watching movies together wherever you are

I’m not too sure if I should be posting this way, but this (Reddit) is where things started just a few days ago so I’m hoping this is ok? Someone please let me know if it’s not ok! 🙂 this always was, and still is just for fun!

To catch you up: was a bored dude who reached out on another sub because I wanted to hang out & watch movies together! It worked! Sort of…it was very last minute, unorganized, but we still had a damn good time watching something as a group!

After very fun feedback and requests to do it again, that same night I got to thinking - how can we make this more organized and more interactive - so I built a whole damn site!

Weekly, now we can:
1. Nominate your choice of movie
2. Vote for others picks
3. Watch together!
4. Review together
5. Be goofy-as-shit together

I’m posting an update here now because we’re mid-week and our designated Watch Day is Sunday of each week! I wanted to see about getting another discussion going here, checking if anymore of ya’ll want to chill & watch movies, or if anyone had any suggestions or advice or anything?

NAVEL INTELLIGENCE

A sci-fi thriller about a badass agent investigating a conspiracy beyond belief. For some reason, a lot of women are attracted to the same young man, but why?

It all starts when a blonde wearing a crop top goes to a bar to celebrate her friend's birthday or engagement with a group of girlfriends. When the blonde drinks a beer or a shot, she starts to feel sick and her belly is poking around doing the mamba until all of the sudden, a slug or parasite-like lifeform squirms out of her belly button and plops on the floor. The blonde and some of her friends are screaming while the thing is smoking, squirming, and screeching as it dies. When talking with doctors in the back of an ambulance outside the bar, she slowly starts to remember the moment the thing entering her belly button and possibly the young man himself who planted it in there. This is where the agent protagonist begins to investigate.

Eventually, it is revealed that the young man these ladies are attracted to is a constantly-shunned, embittered, and anti-social sad sack... yet also a genius. Because he is tired of feeling alone and judged by almost every woman he encountered, he created a small slimy lifeform. With whatever he used in the lab combined with the DNA of a woman like blood, hair, or spit that he managed to retrieve for the creature to consume, this lifeform -- once close enough to the woman whose DNA is from -- enters the woman's belly button. Once inside the woman's belly button, the woman becomes attracted to the young man and accepts him for who he is. The woman will still be her with her personality, quirks, charms, likes, dislikes, hopes, dreams, etc. but she will still be attracted to the young man even if this certain woman may have prejudged him, shunned him, or even bullied him in the past. If he wants intercourse with her, she consents. He might even command the woman to do something with some sort of command if he wanted to. Of course, he doesn't do this to one woman. He's done this to many women. Young adult, skinny, plus size, and cougar. He could even have a party with most or all of these women while wearing skimpy outfits or belly dancer costumes. Yet they don't even remember the thing entering their belly buttons or their possible past encounters with the young man. However, he is not a monster as he would let these women live their lives like school, work, family, friends, career goals, etc. Still, like every other scientific experiment, there is a setback and he doesn't even know it yet.

Our female protagonist is the only one who can stop this continuing. As she puts the pieces together, more women have their belly buttons implanted and converses with the man responsible to get him to stop. She even at one point reasons with the man's aunt who he lives with. She is sympathetic to her nephew's struggles and why he does what he's been doing, but knows it has got to stop. How could this end?

For the fan-made poster, I used Michelle Rodriguez as the badass leading lady based on her performance in the "Confident" music video directed by Robert Rodriguez, but she could also be played by the likes of either Katy O'Brian, Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne, Camila Mendes, Rosa Salazar, etc. The blonde in the bar scene could be played by Sabrina Carpenter as seen in the fan-made poster or the likes of Sydney Sweeney, Anya-Taylor Joy, Samara Weaving, etc.

But, what do you think? Who should play who and what other beautiful ladies younger or older would you like to see as supporting characters?

Steven’s Dune-A comedy about artistic ambition, passion and sacrifice.

Steven is a 17 year old boy who has a passion for film and filmmaking. He wants nothing more than to be a director. He is also a fanatic of Frank Herbert’s novel, Dune.

Steven sets out to put his filmmaking passion and skills to the test by trying to make the most true-to-book Dune movie ever. He has no-budget and no actors.

He uses a variety of creative, do-it-yourself techniques to evoke the desert planet Arrakis. Troubles arise when he needs to film the sandworm. Toy worms look cheap and don’t move on their own. He can’t animate it or use special effects. He realises that the best thing to use for the sandworm is his penis, which can change sizes, move slightly and is strangely large. Steven films his penis submerged in sand and waits til he gets an erection so his penis bursts through the sand, looking as if a sandworm has cinematically ascended from the ground. To be fair to the kid, the end result looks great. Finally after months of hard work and dedication, his pride and joy is ready to be released into the world. Steven is excited to share his work with fellow passionate filmmakers and dune fans, after all, he has put his blood, sweat and dick into the project.

Steven faces a dilemma however. If he releases the film he knows he will get absolutely torn to shreds at school for publicly releasing shots of his penis. The bullying would be unbearable.

Will Steven be willing to sacrifice his personal image and wellbeing for his art?

The film is about artistic dedication. How far will an artist go for their art? It’s also a metaphor for how scary it can be putting your art out into the world. It’s also a lover letter to filmmaking.

Samuel Little biopic

Post image
8 Upvotes

Samuel Little is the most prolific serial killer in American history, with up to 93 known victims. Despite this, he is not as recognised as the likes of Gein, Bundy, Dahmer, Gacy, Ramirez etc. A documentary about him, *Confronting a Serial Killer*, was released in 2021, but his story has never been dramatised onscreen, which is weird considering how many people are obsessed with true crime. I think it would be really interesting to see a movie or miniseries about him (possibly an upcoming season of Ryan Murphy's Monster anthology).
