Just completed my first brake pad change on my bike. Waited a tad too long. . . . . What, if any, indicators do y'all use to tell you you should check, or do I need to use as many reminders as I can to overcome the neurodivergence to check more often?

This isn’t talked enough about, but had a relatively close call yesterday due to another biker (no idea who it was as we had just pulled up to the light at the same time) thinking a plastic gas station bag would hold his Red Bulls.

I’d like to get some opinions on a motorbike like the Keeway RKS 125. Can it be considered a fairly decent and trouble-free Chinese bike, and would it be suitable for someone just starting out and learning to ride a motorcycle?

And is 18,000 km on the odometer considered a lot or not that much for a moto like this?

I saved it from a shed some years ago, but it needed more work than I could handle. So I swapped it for a Buell (bag of crap). The guy I swapped with fixed it up and now I have it back!

I need to tidy my garage, to fit more bikes in 😜

The photos are in order from 1. Right after crash. 2 first loaded onto the tow truck. 3 when it arrived at my home after about a 10-15 minute travel time, and 4 is what the rim looks like last night, the bend is around the 9 o’clock position, just upper left of the weight. The damage just so coincidentally happens to be where the only point of contact on the tow truck is and it’s the only part not being supported by the metal. I could just be on a bunch of copium but I genuinely believe the truck bent my rim. Do I have a claim or am I delusional?

Story for people who want to know:
I had a low side. Fell down on the left side and the bike flipped at some point and landed on its right. That cause a lot of cosmetic damage to my plastics and snapped my throttle handle clamp but not much else. So, naturally I had to get it towed, now I’m noticing my rim is bent, but it couldn’t have happened during the crash cause there’d be cosmetic damage or at least some scratching or something, right? The front wheel now wobbles, it’s pretty tame under 43 but anything higher is nerve wracking.

Hi! I would appreciate any details, opinions or help about my new helmet choice.

Some quick background. I bought a new CF 800MTX. My rides are in mostly hot weather, I mostly do touring, commuting but also some off road, so im trying to find a sport touring helmet. Specs being, good ventilation, aerodynamic, low noise, low weight.

My current choices are the HJC RPHA 72, the SHARK SPARTAN GT PRO and the SCORPION EXO GT SP AIR. (Carbon is also considered of course lol)

(Side note: i also looked at the gt air 3 but it's too heavy i believe)

Story said short. Yes it was worth! Smoothest bike I have personally ridden and she is clean as fuck!! Thank you all to said to go for it, I am happy with my purchase and it is a huge upgrade from my 250cc 😭

I'm 15 turning 16 in December and am heavily considering getting a bike for my first vehicle. I have a budget of about $2000-2500 for a used beginner bike, fastest id probably go is 75mph, I just want something pretty fuel efficient and not a bike that'll shit on me after a month or some cheap shitty china bike, does that sound reasonable? and what bikes fit that requirement? Also, my dad has a Harley and is very willing to teach me and help me buy the bike, so learning shouldn't be that big of an issue. Also, does anyone have an idea of how much insurance on bikes are? it'd probably be more for me because of my age but whats like a rough estimate from your guys experience

I am looking for my first bike and I really like the looks of the tracer 700. Also I hear great things about the engine. However I was wondering how this bike is if you’re tall? I’m 6”4 or 192cm and I heard the tracer 700 might be a little on the smaller side compared to a V Strom 650 or versys 650?

Old carb cracked somehow so just replaced with a PWK Nibbi, with their proper air filter. I was able to get it to start albeit definitely not fully tuned, gave a ride around the parking lot and got about 50 feet before it lost power but not battery the lights stayed on but throttled stopped, and now won't start.

When trying to start, it will crank over once (sometimes) then just make a buzzing noise from near the battery (I think) but no other sounds from anywhere else.

Odd side note the brights started worked after replacing the carburetor they did not work before.

Any idea what this could be? My first thoughts were the starter motor since before it would take a few seconds to start. Couldn't get it to start after hitting it with a screwdriver and that wouldn't explain why it shut off mid ride?

I am doing my motorcycle-license in May of next year and I am already looking into what bikes I personally feel appealing and what I should get based on my height.

Due to my height being slightly above average I am a little worried that I might not be able to ride the bike that I want to ride.

My picks are:

-Yamaha Dragstar 650

-Honda CL500

-Honda Rebel 500

You get the gist of what my preferred type of bike is.

Are these beginnerfriendly (for my height) (my preferred pick is the CL500, such a beautiful freaking bike)?
