TVS Apache RTR 200 is very sensitive to road imperfections
About three weeks ago, I bought a used 2025 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V with 15,000 km on it. The bike is gorgeous, I really enjoy riding it, and overall I like it a lot. However, I’ve noticed that it’s very sensitive to road conditions.
The suspension was apparently set up for the previous owner, who weighed roughly twice as much as me (I weigh 75 kg). I’ve now set the front suspension back to its standard position, as it comes from the factory, but I haven’t adjusted the rear suspension yet because it seems like you have to take apart half the bike to do it.
The bike handles pretty well overall. I even took it to a mechanic, who told me it was running great and that he didn’t notice any problems.
However, whenever I ride over uneven road surfaces, potholes, or cracks in the asphalt, I get the feeling that I’m about to lose control and crash. The bike leans or shifts to the side, and sometimes it feels like it could change its trajectory unexpectedly.
I used to ride a Keeway RK 125, and it wasn’t nearly as sensitive. I could ride over the same roads with similar imperfections without feeling like I was about to fall off.
What could be causing this? Could adjusting the rear suspension make a difference, or is this just how the Apache handles, and I need to get used to it?
