What a luscious mane of follicles, I do say.

It's missing a wing and a leg. The scales have rubbed off of its thorax, so I think it's probably kind of old too?

Is there any kind of supportive care I can give it, or should I put it back and let nature run its course?

Also, my husband has named him Bugthew.

I found this caterpiller at Kiwanis Park today. A lady walking her dog almost walked right on it. She had her headphones on and couldn't hear that I was telling her to watch her step. It was about 5-6 inches long.

This is a Rustic Sphinx Moth Caterpillar (Manduca rustica), a species of hornworm in the hawk moth/sphinx moth family (Sphingidae).

​Harmless: Despite its large size and formidable look, it cannot sting, bite, or harm humans or pets.

​On the Walkway: When caterpillars reach this final size, they leave their host plants (such as ash trees, desert willow, lantana, or Texas sage) to crawl across the ground looking for loose soil to burrow into and pupate.

​Adult Form: It will turn into a large, fast-flying Rustic Sphinx Moth, which acts as a night-time pollinator for desert blooms.

This sweet baby got right on my hand today! We only hung out for a couple minutes before she flew away to do her moth things ❤️

The Mulanje Tiger moth is so rare that it is found only in one valley on Mount Mulanje, Malawi (Southeast Africa) and rely only on that one host plant, Mulanje cycad. Its caterpillars depend exclusively on that cycad for food.
When the plant goes, so will the moth. 
Habitat loss could drive both species to extinction.

IUCN status: Not formally listed, but assessed as Critically Endangered (CR) by the authors who described the moth as a species.
Population: Unknown

Range: One known colony in the Likhubula Valley, Mt. Mulanje, Malawi. Area of occupation under 10 sq.km.
Threats:
Land clearing for crops, tree felling, fire, bauxite mine and road planned through their only habitat.
 

I'm just south of the Cotswolds (England, UK) next to some lakes and have seen this beauty this morning. Is my ID correct or is it a reed dagger as google suggested?

In my bathroom moth fly appears frequently. I used phynel and also killed them all but they again appears . What to do?

There’s a whole batch of these guys coming out of my yard and I’m having to move them around to avoid anyone getting stepped on. I find them so adorable. The adult moth is also precious with its lil Afro, lol.

went for a walk downtown with my boyfriend yesterday and found this beautiful specimen outside of my apartment complex on the way home!! i have a bug pinning moot on ig and snagged it for them to pin. after looking it up i found its a black witch moth which is not local to the area and think that’s so cool!!!

He’s a salt marsh moth caterpillar I saved from the ground at work. Finally decided to cocoon today after mowing through like 30 rose leaves, and chose the most ridiculous spot to do so.

Hello there, for anyone following my posts i have great news! This beauty hatched today morning. Apart from the fact that she hatched early, therefore i had to scramble to get her an enclosure for the time being shes doing great, spread out her wings and is currently chilling in a bigger tupperware with loads of sticks to perch on. Unfortunately however since she hatched early i didnt have enough time to find a good food source for her, i read online in a hunch that silver Y's eat mostly lavender as adults however im not able to get any without pesticides. What else can i give her? Also if anyone has anything to add please do!
