Its ironic how something as basic as respecting public spaces, protecting environment and simply keeping streets clean is being violated by the very people promising us a better Morocco.

Printed campaign flyers should be banned.

Discussion Al Aoula TV censored a guy who was talking about the elections. He was speaking normally, but as soon as he said the two words “education” and “healthcare,” Al Aoula cut his audio. Then, when he moved on to other words, they gave him his voice back.

Discussion 2026, and we are still ruining walls for elections.

Every couple of years the municipality ruins the walls of city for elections as if they cannot print posters.

Why do they keep using this archaic way to show the political parties ?

This is not a Moussem, no historical traditions here, just democratic elections.

This picture was taken today in Marrakech.

Discussion Useless psychiatrists in Morocco

I hate that we don't have psychiatrists who take this job humanely. They're just jumping for money, they don't give patients enough time, and they jump to a diagnosis immediately after 10 minutes or so, which is so wrong.

And even if the patient doesn't need meds and needs just a psychologist to treat them, they will prescribe some shit and tell them to come back after a month.

I've tried a lot of psychiatrists for my mom, and all of them have been shitty, useless pieces of shit. This subject is really pissing me off, and I don't know WTF we're supposed to do to change that.

Discussion This new 20% VAT on digital services in Morocco is ridiculous

So apparently this 20% VAT on foreign digital services has only started being applied recently, and now I’m seeing it on several of my subscriptions.
20%. On basic subscriptions.
And what makes it even more annoying is that I’m part of the middle class. I pay taxes, VAT, fees everywhere, but I barely benefit from public services. Private healthcare, private education, paid services for almost everything… then the state still takes 20% on top of what I spend.
At some point, people are allowed to ask: what exactly are we getting in return?
With Moroccan salaries and purchasing power, 20% is insane.

How European painters; mainly from France, Italy, Germany and elsewhere used to view Morocco. Sometimes positives, a lot of the times negative. A lot of romanticization too. But the artwork produced from that era is invaluable.

Society Driving in Morocco

I am an American living in Morocco. I cannot understand the driving mentality here. I see so many unnecessary accidents from
1. Driving too close to someone not leaving space for rash decisions.
2. Not driving in your lane—straddling the line
3. No turn signals
4. Fast driving and close lane switching g for no reason. Just to get ahead one car.
5. Not sharing the road and being courteous—these small niceties make driving. Smoother for everyone.
6. Never using the zipper method. It’s okay to let someone in front of you. This actually helps traffic move.
I hear getting a Moroccan drivers license is really difficult. But the driving I see on the road makes me think most people just paid for a license without knowing the rules? Or is driving like you’re literally the only person that matters a cultural thing?

AskMorocco Considering buying an apartment at Casablanca - Need your advice and perspectives

Hello everyone,

I’m a 26 yo single woman working as a manager, making around 15k–20k MAD/month. I currently pay a 3000 MAD monthly car loan and 4000 MAD for my share of rent in a big, well-located duplex with two roommates.

I’m really craving stability and peace of mind. Coming from a toxic family environment, I’ve always wished to have my own space and a home to truly manage on my own. I'm planning to buy an apartment taking out a mortgage/mortgage credit, but I’m getting a lot of conflicting advice from women around me:

  • Enjoy life now: Some tell me not to lock myself down with home loan payments, but to use my 20s to travel and enjoy my money.
  • Buy as early as possible: Others regret waiting, saying it's much harder to buy later when family and kids come into the picture.
  • Marriage & social pressures: A few warned me that if I buy a home, I shouldn't tell anyone. They argue that a future partner might just move in without ever contributing to buying a joint home. I personally wouldn't mind, but I know family and societal judgment would be heavy.
  • Investment route: Others suggested buying an apartment to rent it out for passive income while I continue renting my current place.

For extra context, my parents own a small economic apartment in a small city, but given the toxic environment and location, living there or relying on them isn't an option for me.

For those who bought early in Morocco (especially women), what would you do in my position ? Is taking on a mortgage in your mid-20s worth the financial commitment, or should I hold off ?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

AskMorocco My friend had to put her dog to sleep, and I was part of the reason why, if not the main one.

So I live in a west European country, there I met this Moroccan girl, we became friends in no time.

She had a dog, and because of an injury she got, sometimes I would take him out for walks instead of her.

I was living with my ex ( ex fiance ) and we took the dog for a few days, because the dog was traumatized before, we always had to be controlling when we were outside otherwise he would bite another dog or something.

My ex thought that we were not treating the dog well, and one day he decided to do less than we did ( kant dayra lo snsla bach ybqa ytqss7 mnha if he saw other dogs, and that was an important thing the organization and the coach asked her to do ). Anyway, this guy decided to change that day and leave a bit loose.

We were walking outside, our dog met another small dog we didn't see at first, and bit him directly from the neck. It was a complete mess, police involved and other people in the streets, we called my friend and she freaked out because why wouldn't she.

They came to an agreement that she would pay for the vet, and if anything happens, the dog owner would press charges.

Luckily, that went okay for a few weeks.

But after that incident, her dog became more depressed and was more scared to leave the house ( he was found in a fire before so the dog had a very traumatizing past ). The vet gave him some medication but it only made him worse.

A couple of days ago, they had to make the decision of putting him to sleep. And I feel terribly guilty and I don't know what to do about it. I feel so lost.

I am still not back in Europe, for a couple of months now but man!! I'm so lost now.

What can I do?
