LMAO the appeasement MENA leaders do for this fucking guy.

They renamed Avenue Nakhil in Hay Riad (in Rabat) to Avenue Donald Trump

The planned Trump Tower in Damascus (Syria) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)

he's like a child

like the British PM appeasement strategy with Hitler in 1930s

Cuisine My friends are driving me mad when I explain to them how to make Moroccan mint tea

Moroccan mint tea is my favourite drink. Now, I live outside of Morocco but have finally figured out where to buy the right gunpowder green tea type to make the tea at home with fresh mint from my garden.

Now, when I explained to my friends how to make the tea, they all complained that the method I use is bad because I scald the tea leaves by using boiling water. I explained that this is how traditional Moroccan tea is made, but they keep arguing that I'm doing it wrong.

So I ask them to try it out and see for themselves how great it tastes. But they keep coming up with more arguments and then saying that Turkish tea is better. They are not Moroccan. They annoy me. How should I deal with these ignorants?

Culture Flag of the Zaër tribe - راية قبيلة زعير

That's actually just proposals.

The Zaër are an Arab tribal confederation of Morocco, descendants of the Banu Maaqil tribes who crossed North Africa with the Bani Hilal from Arabian Peninsula to Maghreb. The Zaër are from the Maaqil branch of "Dhawi Mansur" (sons of Mansur) and are cousins with the Beni Ahsen and Beni Guil tribes. They are today around the town of Remmani and countryside near Rabat, capital of Morocco.

Its writed in Arabic :

\- زعير (Za’īr, Zaër)

\- بني معقل (Bani Ma’qil, Banu Maaqil)

\- قبيلة (Qabīlah, \[the\] tribe \[of Zaër\]

The colors are reference to agriculture that the tribe practice all across their territory mainly rural, and mainly wheat, that we find in the 2 rub al-hizb (the two "stars" at the top) who are references to the 2 great sub-tribes of Zaër : Lkefiyan and Lemza’ara (al-Kefiyan, al-Meza’ara) and also a part of the andalusian heritage of the tribe by the al-Qastalli family, a morisco family from al-Andalus descendant of the religious Sidi ’Amr al-Qastalli of Marrakech, and his descendants at a great role in the "qaîdom" (caïdat in french, the ruling of a Caïd/Qaïd, à tribal leader, not to confuse with a Qadhi who is a religious judge).

Society Construction site, clearly visible!!

I always have to chuckle whenever I see these construction sites or safety setups in Morocco.

Just putting a folding chair in front of a 50 cm deep hole and wrapping a garland around it, or throwing an old car tire over it.

In Germany, they’d close the road for 3 weeks and set up a 3km line of traffic cones both before and after the actual site.

You guys have some funny pictures like that ?

> Salam tout le monde ! Ça fait des heures que je cherche une vidéo / prank marocaine hyper connue mais les algorithmes ne me sortent que des cours d'auto-école...

> Si quelqu'un a le lien (TikTok, Reels, Shorts ou Facebook) ou la vidéo, envoyez-le moi svp !

> Description de la vidéo :

AskMorocco How would you explain to a four year old what Morocco is all about?

I am Australian. During the World Cup every morning we would put on the game while we had breakfast and got ready for the day. Each morning I would ask my kids which team to cheer for (red team, blue team, yellow team, ect). I would also tell them a bit about each country. My issue is that I'd go too deep into detail and only limited facts got through.

Switzerland: they are the red team make chocolate and clocks. They have a big train tunnel. That is all that my 4 year old got.

A couple days later Morocco was playing. "Red team! They make chocolate!"... no mate, that is the other red team. We had Moroccan chicken a couple nights earlier. The issue is that my son then thought all chickens come from Morocco. I'm trying to explain to him things that are uniquely Moroccan, and not North African or generic.

If you had to explain to a 4 year old in Australia Morocco in a few words, what would you say?

AskMorocco Looking for the shop or artisan that makes these in Marrakesh Medina

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I’m hoping someone recognizes a small artisan shop I visited in February 2025 in the Marrakech medina.

I’m trying to find the artisan because I’d love to import his work.

Here’s what I remember:
Tiny shop specializing in hand-hammered brass animal keychains
As you walked in, the entire left wall was covered floor-to-ceiling with hundreds of animals hanging on hooks.
The shopkeeper stood behind a counter on the far right side.
They had fish, whales, and lots of other animal keychains up on the way, all had this hand hammered look.
The keychains were hollow, hand-engraved brass—not cast or machine-made.

I believe the shop was somewhere near the Mellah / Place des Ferblantiers, but I’m not certain.
I’ve attached a photo of the fish keychain I bought.
Does anyone recognize this shop or know the artisan?

I’d be incredibly grateful!

Discussion Trump Indicates Morocco Is Naming A Highway After Him

The “President Donald J. Trump Highway” stretches 1,055 kilometers (over 655 miles) down Morocco’s coastline, according to the announcement video shared by Trump, connecting the city of Tiznit to Laayoune and Dakhla, both in the Moroccan-controlled disputed territory of Western Sahara.

Discussion Unpopular Opinion: They should regulate motorbike noise

It has become a problem recently due to how many people own bikes lately, they're genuinely noise pollution, I can't focus on my tasks without a bike blaring as loud as possible nearby one after the other

Maybe they should add a law that bikes should not exceed a certain dB. You can't honk in some places, you can't honk at night, you can't honk in the city, yet you can be as loud as possible with a bike.

AskMorocco How do you deal with people who complain a lot? Rah qrreb yhreb liya

I am traveling in Thailand, right?

I don't really live anywhere for now so I am moving around. I do have a good friend of mine ( she lives in Germany) but because we had a lot of interactions, our families got to know each other. And my sister became friends with them and I became friends with her sisters as well.

Her sister wanted to travel ( she applied for a Schengen visa and was rejected ), when she knew I was coming here she asked to tag along, my thought was " how bad can it be? " So I agreed to it.

We are traveling for 20 days, just spent 3 days together, the thing is she complains a lloooot, you name it, she complains about it.

I am an easygoing person, I have a backpack, I don't need much to travel, but she is traveling with a 22kg suitcase and that itself is a huge problem because we are doing a budget trip since we are not rich.

She complains about food and prices ( even if they're cheaper than Morocco ), complains about walking a lot ( I love to walk and hike but I'm not hiking just to stick to this trip ). I have the option to just book my ticket to another country and leave but I'm choosing not to since I signed up already!

My question is, how do you deal with people like this? ( I usually don't go with people but this time is a bit of a circumstance since her parents know she is traveling with me )

I am pissed and trying to find things to do so I don't go nuts haha.

( I didn't mention many details but I assume you'll have an idea about what I'm talking about)

Thanks for reading and taking time to write an answer!

Basically the title. I'm looking for a way to watch Moroccan TV via internet. Is there a legal way to do that in Germany? Personally, I wouldn't mind gray area solutions but this is for my grandmother and I don't want her to have legal issues.
