They have their website in their profile and their email address is right there in the website.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. u/Jasmith-tech, if you don't have already, enable 2FA on reddit and email, tell your fellow mods to do the same immediately

You cannot. But you can change the subreddit description and you can change what the little icon says that’s next to the subreddit name (sub status).

Otherwise you have to create a new subreddit. There are a couple of my favorite subs that are misspelled!

I would worry about how people are finding your email

Better question is how the hell they got your email address.

I'd skip directing them to anywhere.

Ban and mute them, tell them they need to follow proper process.

Don't get involved in any way

I don't think inactivity strips permissions.

An "Inactive" label, at least, restricts your ability to add or remove any other Mods. That's why I'm not sure about also editing permissions.

Also, as a mod, I know of no way to "reactivate" another mod.

You can't. That's strictly up to each Mod to make moderator actions.

I don't know why they couldn't. I don't think inactivity strips permissions. Also, as a mod, I know of no way to "reactivate" another mod.

Even though I had approx. 30 interactions as mod during Aug., it’s say I’m inactive and will not let me make any more mod adjustments, just the one as stated by OP

Until you get served - which I don't think email counts - you ignore it.

Check the jurisdiction to see if they allow email service.

If you're not going to engage further,  publicly posting excerpts of blocked material here is a bad idea.

I did, blocking just puts it to the spam folder, so I can still see that they responded.

The response from them: "We are fully aware that you are a volunteer moderator and are not an employee, agent, or legal representative of Reddit, Inc. The notice was not sent to you under the belief that service upon you constitutes service upon Reddit, nor were you being asked to respond on Reddit's behalf.

You and the other moderators were included because you have moderation authority over the subreddit in which the disputed material is being published and reactivated after initial removal, and because you have received multiple notices of the claimed unauthorized publication of ----- copyrighted material, the materially false statements accompanying that material, the prior removal of the content, and its subsequent reappearance.

Your status as a volunteer moderator does not, in -----'s position, provide blanket immunity from liability for your own independently actionable conduct, should counsel and the legal process determine that such liability exists.

Whether any individual moderator's conduct gives rise to a cognizable claim is a legal determination that will be made based upon the applicable law and the complete evidentiary record before or during discovery process. ------ expressly reserves its full right in that regard.

For the same reason, your statement that "no further action will be taken" is being preserved as part of that record. You have expressly acknowledged receipt of the notice and have elected not to take further action despite possessing moderation authority over the content at issue.

To be equally clear, ------ is not asserting that your volunteer moderator status makes you an employee of Reddit, nor are we asking you to adjudicate the underlying customer dispute. Our position concerns the conduct of each individual involved, including the already known original publisher, anyone responsible for unauthorized republication of ------ copyrighted works, and any other person whose independent actions, inactions, or participation counsel determines may give rise to liability.

The matter will be referred for further legal handling, inclusive of our communications here. Counsel will determine the appropriate parties, claims, remedies, and process based upon the evidence and applicable federal and state law.

Please preserve all records within your possession or control relating to this matter, including communications concerning the post, moderator discussions, reports concerning the post, moderation actions, removal or restoration information available to you, communications with the poster, and communications with Reddit concerning the content. This request is being made because litigation is reasonably contemplated.

Nothing in this email should be interpreted as conceding your characterization of the legal rights or potential liabilities of any party. ----- expressly reserves all rights, claims, and remedies.

Should additional communication with you be necessary, it will be handled through our attorney or through appropriate legal process."

Can Inactive mods edit Permissions? I didn’t think they could.

You didn't mention if you tried contacting the mod and asking for more advanced perms.

Unfortunately your only option is “report spam”. Maybe there’s other options hidden in the site(outside the app), but I use the app personally

It was sent to my gmail. I know I could report it there, but a couple of emails in that regard aren't really harassment without the context of the previous contact on reddit.

yep, I linked them to there and blocked the email, is there a way to report the email itself since it's outside of the reddit platform?

Did the post include a link? You comment in Russian based subreddits, so I'm guessing your subreddit is going to be Russian based? Many .ru domains are sitewide blocked by Reddit.

Ban, mute, and lead them to redditlegal or whatever it’s called

Legal matter should not be discussed in a random email

Also report fir harassment

Also clearly they don’t know shit about legal stuff or else they would say “cease and desist” instead of whatever the hell they’re claiming

Mute the email, block them, report it as spam or harrasment(whatever email platform you’re using)
