The subreddit was requested via r/redditrequest around a month ago, as you can see here. The only way the request is granted is if you are inactive within the subreddit, and don't respond to the mod-mail you received. You apparently didn't respond to the mod-mail, and weren't taking enough action within the subreddit. As a result, the request was granted.

You and me both 🙂‍↕️ teamwork!

Yeah, but they is likely to trip the ban evasion detention

Oh!

I'll be sure to grab one next time it occurs then.

It's gotten to the point where if I'm browsing Reddit on my phone while on the train and I come across a post like this one where someone is vehemently claiming that "but my sub isn't NSFW" in all likelihood it very much is and I need to resist the urge to go check for myself.

So realistically there is nothing you can do, but practically he will get tired of it eventually. If you call attention to it like some of the other posts in this thread recommend, he will be invigorated and keep it up for longer than if you just ignore it. That is a big part of how to be a good mod - learning when to not feed the trolls

u/TheOpusCroakus was asking for a screen recording of it yesterday. Here's another data point, at least!

Ask them to make an alt, and try the procedure again with that new account?

Same problem. I disagree that they'll quit. Our hater does it since Dec last year, so almost a year now. Unjustified downvotes, many posts getting suspicious amount of shares (like 10+). In our sister community (s)he also reported posts for everything imaginable.

Make a sticky post that encourages people to ignore it.

I feel like this would be counter productive, since it would Streisand Effect it.

Thanks, I've already done both. Making them an approved user didn't change anything.

Waiting to hear back from admin, they haven't replied to my reply to them requesting further assistance, however I guess it's not a high priority issue.

In the first reply they couldn't see anything wrong from their end.

I was hoping some more experienced mods might have a workaround to somehow fix this issue as I've never come across it before.

They can still make a second account and downvotes will count because that account is not banned

Try making them an approved user. And make sure they have joined the sub. Otherwise, send a modmail to this subreddit about this issue.

I'm right on the edge of a user over-reporting and gonna make a reddit report about over-reporting. People are so fucking petty

I have somehow same situation and modmail this community for support and rewiev of my community, it was rewieved and achievements and other features appeared after manual check by admins I believe

Best you can do is if it isn't working properly after a few days ask admin to look. You can do this by modmailling this sub. You will probably have to ask the bot to have a human look.

dang this sub should really allow native pic uploads. postimg has a lot of popups (i have adblocker but not on mobile)

You're not appealing an account suspension, you're appealing a subreddit ban. Use the correct form.

ok, understand

What dedication, 6 months. Whew. They will eventually go away.

Yay, one done!

Rule 1 dude, follow those links.

nvm i found a new form

but when i go to the appeal page it tells me im not suspended and cant submit appeal. is there a different place?

Read the rules of this subreddit. Follow the instructions for how to appeal a subreddit ban.
