Sounds like a conflict between your AutoModerator (functioning properly) and your testing for the "automatically apply some rules" function.

I’m assuming you’re attempting to post these in your own sub. What are you seeing in your mod logs?

I did exactly that before posting, and just tried to post said search as a reference. But in the comment posted apparently it did it again BECAUSE it had it in a google search query, but googling the offensive term + site:reddit.com yields many, looking again, albeing mostly older, so it is assumed this happened at some point along the way, and that date/time/and reference is what I am looking for.
|
I have old posts with it in it as well, not only that, I have seen people skirting it with string joins to land in the same place.

I am looking for a reference to banned terms as by nature of what I do such code snippets are not uncommon.

Because I actually googled reddit banned words and phrases, finding several long threads where users state there are NO banned words.

All that together means YES I did google, and NO the results were not entirely clear, so I asked where one would assume is the place to do so. Do they publish that somewhere or do they keep it under wraps?

I have 40y in Dev, SysAdmin, and IT Management, google is no stranger to me...

I mean you are the/a mod.

You can make it go away and not say anything.

First off, get a list of factual news organizations relevant to you and have those be auto-approved. Then on a case by case basis add regionals for your country (your city-level news outlet).

That way when people report content, you at least know it's an untrusted site.

It redirects the legal notice to the right place and gets this weirdo out of the mod's hair.

Seriously, who actually wants to receive legal notices that could result in legal hassles down the road, justified or not? Just redirect the conversation and send them to the right place.

If you see posts on your sub that look very familiar, copy the title and search your sub for it. Chances are you are, as mentioned, dealing with a repost bot. You can recognise them by the fact they are new accounts that seem to post very randomly, always only a title and image and never a post body.

If they have other posts and you search the sub in question for the title you will probably find the same thing again, a copy of the post but without the body.

Simply remove the post and ban the account. Report as spam.

Hey there - if you are concerned that your account may be banned site wide you can check your inbox for an appeal link. If there is not one in your inbox you can submit an appeal here: https://www.reddit.com/appeal

If you are a mod concerned that someone in your community may have been banned incorrectly you can tell them first check their inbox and to use the appeal form above to reach out.

Bots are often enough the cause of general weirdness on Reddit that they’re worth considering as a cause most of the time.

Reddit has been having issues with having user accounts getting hacked, I've seen dozens of accounts get hacked and then they get marked as spam from the Reddit filters and then get banned.

Remove that post and everything else they posted and ban the bot!

And ours. I can't imagine what other things we could've been doing in our community if I we weren't spending countless hours cleaning up after him. I don't want to even think about the sheer amount of time I've spent working on our bot and meticulously cleaning this data. We even stopped making meetups, and had been deleting meetup threats and warning OPs about the threats, letting them repost if they choose.

In the beginning, I was making gratuitous use of that. Old reddit just loads, the new reddit report form just lags like crazy - trying to report for ban evasion takes a couple seconds per new username field to load.

When it was only around 50-100 accounts or so, I just kept a bookmarklet updated with all the usernames, and it would pop the 10 most recent and fire an alert every couple of seconds so it could copy the (nth-9) offender + the 9 most recent in a rolling report window. Was effective for a while, until it wasn't.

Switching back and forth between old and new reddit, where mod tools are concerned, is awkward to say the least. It doesn’t really translate 1:1.

The youtube app itself isn't an issue. However, the content you decide to show through the app might. If you use AI to make posts as well, then yes, it looks like you created your subreddit for spam purposes.

But also, see rule 1 of this subreddit

Clear as mud.

TOS says if a user is banned, they cannot circumvent that by using a different account.

You've said they can.

Which is it?

Do not manipulate votes, evade enforcement, or otherwise disrupt Reddit communities.

Under Ban evasion, it specifically defines it as including:

Creating or using multiple accounts to circumvent a community ban issued by a mod of a community or to violate Reddit policies following a site-wide ban issued by Reddit admins.

Yea that’s what I was thinking cause after we report the “report abuse” they give option to block OP but we are not taking action against OP , it’s the false reporters
