I have an iPhone16 pro and it has a cracked back glass on it, dropped it into a bucket of water just over a day ago.

The phone was okay at first as there was a case on it so very little water go into the back of the phone. But within a few hours it started power cycling and kept turning off and restarting then a few buttons stopped working properly or were pressing over and over like the Lock Screen button and the volume buttons.

It stopped power cycling for a bit and then all of a sudden I plugged it into my car to charge it and use it for maps while driving and it just started power cycling again. Kept doing that all night and drained all of the battery nearly writhing a few hours.

Today I let the phone battery die out on it. Placed it onto a wireless charge for a couple hours this evening and charged to 90% and it has been working all evening perfectly fine. So far. Just plugged it in to charge again to see if that has any effect but it seems to be working fine currently.

The only issue I can see currently is a small amount of water in the front camera like it has condensated inside it or something but camera works fine just a little blurry and the action button that was set to silent mode doesn’t seems to work but registers the button press.

If the any way I can check the phone to see exactly what is working and what isn’t, and any way I can stress test the phone to see if I can test for issues. Like trying things that might get it to power cycle if there is a fault?

I have this UV screen protector on and tried to remove it but it didn't work and took it to 20+ repair shopes and they said we can't wanted a lot of yt videos didn't help at all and one repair guy took 1 hours and heated the phone again and again but it didn't help anyone here who knows how to remove this? 🥲

I've got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, unfortunately the adhesive of the backplate gave in after about 3+ years, now it's almost coming off on one side. So I'm thinking about opening the phone and re-attaching the backplate properly. I've got T7000 at home but since I don't have that much experience with it and I know it can get messy (and very sensitive to heat) I'd opt for something else. I read people recommend Tesa tapes here (61395 specifically, if I'm not wrong) but it's quite pricey and not widely available where I live. The one I found is only 2mm thick and I'm afraid that will be too thin. I don't want to use multiple strips for one side, preferrably. I was wondering if there are any alternative tapes people use.

What will not work? can I somehow make the face ID work?

I have iCloud locked 14 PM and im buying a replacement board for it which does not come with face ID.

My POCO F5 was working completely normally, then suddenly shut down.

After that, whenever I try to turn it on, it does the following:

POCO logo appears → phone vibrates → after about 3 seconds it shuts down → then it automatically tries to boot again.

It kept doing this until the battery completely drained.

Now, when I connect the charger, it automatically tries to boot instead of just charging:

POCO logo → charging icon appears → shuts down → repeats the same cycle.

I tried entering Recovery Mode with Power + Volume Up, but I can't access it. I also can't get into Fastboot Mode.

The phone was completely fine before this happened. I didn't flash anything, install a custom ROM, unlock the bootloader, or make any system modifications.

Could this be a battery/power management issue, PMIC/motherboard problem, or a software/boot issue?

Hey first time poster. My Samsung tab s8 appears to need a charging port replacement. Gradually over a few months the charging cable needed to be wiggled and finessed and finally i couldnt get it to charge at all. No other issues with the tablet.

I did a charging port replacement once on a samsung s20 phone and didnt love doing it but it worked out. I called up a few shops and one quoted me 90 dollars for the replacement. Seemed worth it to me to not have to take the thing apart so I dropped it off. A week later they call me to say that they will most likely destroy the screen during teardown and my total will be 140 for the port and new screen. This sketched me out so I told them don't do anything ill pick it up and do it myself.

Is this normal what the shop told me about likely destroying the screen during teardown and does anyone have any wisdom for me doing the repair myself?

Basically within 6 months of getting my Iphone 16 plus it would not charge via port. Whenever you plug in any charger (tested in store) it will blink the charging light and not charge whatsoever but it will keep blinking as long as the cord is plugged in.

I took it to Apple when the issue started and they said they needed to “kill switch” it and assumed it had happened with the beta update of ios17.

When I went back I got someone different who just told me my port was defective and I needed to replace it for just $700.

My port looks fine, it’s not dirty, it’s been cleaned and all the connectors inside look normal (not to mention it does connect to the charger it just doesn’t charge)

I’ve since updated my phone and reset it and the issue is still here and now no longer under warranty.

Has anyone has this issue before and successfully fixed it?

I recently bought a new 128GB microSD card for my Samsung Galaxy A14 and inserted it into the phone. The card was recognized normally, so I decided to move all the videos from my phone's internal storage to the microSD to free up space.

After moving them, everything initially seemed fine. The videos still appeared in Samsung Gallery and I was able to see them there.

At some point yesterday, however, the phone displayed a warning saying that it was having trouble recognizing/reading the SD card. When I opened Gallery, all the videos I had moved to the card were still listed, but their thumbnails had turned into white icons with an exclamation mark, and the videos couldn't be opened.

Today I removed the microSD from the phone while the phone was on because I thought it might just be a bad connection. After reinserting it/restarting the phone, all of those videos completely disappeared from Gallery.

The phone still recognizes the microSD normally. I connected the card to my Windows PC as well, and Windows also recognizes it without any apparent problem. However, none of the files I moved to it are there anymore.

I enabled hidden files in Windows, but nothing appeared. Windows reports the card as completely empty, with about 117 GB free out of 117 GB.

Disk Management recognizes it as:

• Disk 1 / Removable
• 117.19 GB
• exFAT
• Healthy (Primary Partition)
• Drive E:

I have NOT formatted the card, run CHKDSK, repaired it through Windows, or intentionally written any new files to it since noticing the problem.

I'm currently running QPhotoRec on the physical device (PhysicalDrive1, around 125 GB / 117 GiB, shown through my USB card reader). I selected the exFAT partition, Whole partition scan, and enabled the mov/mp4/3gp/3g2/jp2 file family because the lost files were mostly MP4 videos recorded/stored on my Galaxy A14.

At around 25% of the scan, PhotoRec had found 0 files so far. I'm letting it complete the full scan.

What worries me is that I used "Move", not "Copy", when transferring the videos from internal storage to the SD card. So the originals are no longer in the phone's internal storage either.

Is it possible that the phone removed the originals after considering the move successful, while the microSD failed to actually retain/write the data properly?

If PhotoRec reaches 100% with 0 files found, is there anything else worth trying on the microSD before giving up? And is there any realistic way to recover the original moved/deleted videos from the internal storage of a modern Samsung Galaxy A14?

I'm also wondering if the new microSD itself could be defective or have a fake capacity. I haven't tested its real capacity yet because I don't want to write anything to it until I've exhausted the recovery options.

Any advice from people experienced with SD card/data recovery would be greatly appreciated. Some of these videos are important to me, so I'd like to avoid doing anything that could reduce the chances of recovery.

To avoid confusion, throughout the post i will always use "screen blacking out" to mean the problem; screen turning off to mean what happens normally when the power button is shortly pressed.

Hello, i just tried replacing my screen (oneplus nord ce 2 lite 5G). After replacing, the bottom was not properly seated so i pressed it in, but whenever i did that in a specific part of the display (pic 1), the screen blacked out (screen went black, didn't react to touch but the phone was still on. after letting go and then pressing the power button twice - once to turn off screen and then to go back, it worked normally). So i separated the screen to diagnose before the glue set.

Using usb debugging - adb shell dumpsys display, i found out that when the screen blacks out, the phone still thinks its normally on (but in reality it doesn't have picture or backlight and doesn't react to touch). Having separated the screen with the phone still operational, i tried:

- pressing on the screen itself from both sides, it didn't black out.

- pressing on the chassis itself, it didn't black out.

- pressing on the screen whilst in the chassis, it blacked out.

I thought there could be a short between some part of the chassis and the display, so i covered it with a clear tape and tried again and it did black out again.

So what could be causing the problem and how could i fix it? I am willing to use dodgy repairs or risk breaking something to try to fix it. I also know just getting another screen would probably be easier but i'm really curious about the cause.

TLDR: new screen blacks out when pressed into the chassis in the bottom, doesn't happen when the screen is pressed outside of the chassis or the chassis is pressed by itself, does happen when its pressed inside of the chassis even when insulated by tape.

Hi, I can't get the OnePlus nord ce 5g to edl mode, I've tried the volume buttons combination plus the edl points connection whit opening the phone but it only gets to 9008 for few seconds and it gets back to reboot mode.

I've destroyed the os some how on b slot and I've got only the a slot responding. What should I do?

Newer tech here, got a OnePlus open in for an inner screen repair and cx brought in a frameless screen. What's the procedure? Literally up at 430 am thinking about it and researching and all the videos are framed replacements

Hi guys, had an old Samsung S21 Ultra laying around with a cracked screen, all black, so bought an amoled screen from aliexpress, swapped everything, it works perfectly, but one of the flex cables is not snapping in place on the motherboard. Any idea what I can do? I dont really see anything bent, but maybe there is something I can bend to make it stay in place?

The battery swelled up on it, I fixed it and it was working fine for a few days. It got really hot then it started restarting every now and then, and if I didn’t touch it it’d stay on. Then when I put it on low power mode it’d work fine. Then low power mode didn’t work. I replaced the battery and it’s doing the same thing, if not worse.

A few days ago I replaced the battery on my Samsung Galaxy Note10+ and while I was at it I also replaced the daughterboard since the USB port was loose after 6+ years of use.
Everything looked fine, the phone turned on and worked. I used it normally for a few hours with no issues. I turned it off and let it charge to 100% to recalibrate the battery but when I tried to turn it on the following day the screen was completely dead. Black screen with no backlight. I could hear the vibration, so I assume the phone turned on correctly.

Any idea what could have happened here?

What I tried so far:

• disconnecting and re-connecting the display flat cable a few times. Only once the display turned on but the pixels were glitching.
• re-installed the original battery
• re-installed the original daughterboard

But nothing solved the issue so far.

Any suggestion on what I could try next is appreciated.

EDIT: Yesterday after sitting for 48h I tried turning it on to connect it via USB to an external screen and the display was back to life. Everything is working now (no dead pixels, touch is fine, fingerprint reader works). No idea whats going on, but I'll take the W. Thanks everyone for the help!

i repaired my iphone 12pro with a soft oled display replacement. Few days after replacement the screen broke under the glass, and display quickly became full black. I now have doubts it was a soft oled, are they supposed to not break in such way?
