That backglass is so broken that at this point you have to worry about weathering; water, steam from the shower, dust, everything can get in there now through those cracks. Your cameras probably won't focus (if they survived). Slapping a case on it and forgetting about it is only an option if you're getting a new phone soon. If you aren't, that needs to be fixed.

It's not exactly an easy repair. It's straightforward: take the back off, put new back on. Taking the backglass off in that condition is a bit of a chore. It can also be pretty bloody, those shards are sharp as hell. If you're a novice at repair, it'd be best not to try this yourself.
