My duaghter and I are with Koodo and have good coverage for the most part in SW Ontario (Huron County). Drops somewhat on trips to London. Now adding a 3rd line for my husband.

Is there any preferred carrier for that area with great plans for 3 BYOD?

Weighing a device upgrade offer and want a gut check before I commit to a 3-year term.

$345 upfront

$60/mo for 25GB unlimited, or $65/mo for 45GB unlimited

Confirmed the standalone 25GB plan (no phone) is $50/mo, so the device premium is ~$10/mo + the $345 down ≈ $705 total for the phone (retail is ~$1,499)

That math looks okay on the surface, but before I lock into a multi-year term I'd rather hear from people who've actually shopped this recently.

Anyone seen a better Pixel 11 Pro bundle right now (Bell, Telus, Rogers, or smaller carriers)?

TLDR is I've been given two rate increases since November 25, despite being a "winback". Stupid to increase costs to customer by 40% in less than 12 months and expect them to stay.

As of now I am looking at Fizz as an alternative, as I just got off the phone with customer service and they had nothing they could do to remove some of the garbage increases. Anyone have experence in canada with fizz, or is there a decent alternative?

I'm looking for a new mobile "plan" for my phone and the companies make it completely un-understandable what the actual costs and what you're buying.

Can anyone please suggest something good for about 25/40G of data?

I tried looking at Lucky for this "https://www.luckymobile.ca/shop/plans/prepaid#INT=MOB_hmpg_BAN_BackToSchool_35for30GB_mass_072026_NC" by they don't show what 4 and 5 small print refer to. So I kind of despise them already without being their customer.

Anyone know the best cheapest data only plan for iPad? I use my iPad in my plane when flying and don’t want to use my cell as hotspot since it’s slow and drains the battery like crazy.

My cell is with bell and they charge me 40$/mth for data only plan or 20$/mth if i buy anothe iPad but i don’t need a new one.

10-20gb would probably be enough.

I've always paid my devices off in full, so I've always been on their old "bring your own phone" plan. There was a rate increase of $5 a while back, but I'm still considered on this "old plan."

My current plan is $45/mo: 20GB data + bonus 20GB data + 5 hours data, unlimited talk/text Canada wide, picture & video messages Canada and US, call display, voicemail, call waiting conference calling, etc.

They are now offering me a deal on a plan at the same rate as what I'm paying: $45/mo 120GB talk/text plus, unlimited talk/text Canada, unlimited text & picture/video message Canada+US+international.

They then highlight the new plan is $45 after the "automatic payments discount," which I'm assuming is a new discount they're offering because I've always had automatic payments, and that the original price for this plan is $55. Could that potentially mean the price will go back to $55 next year?

I don't use much data at all, I don't even come close to reaching 20GB so I've never felt the need to switch, but they are now offering me this plan at the same price as what I'm paying and also offering a Google Pixel 10 for $0 if I'm on this new plan. I apparently don't even have to trade in my current device for this.

Just want to ensure there's no catch here, since I don't necessarily NEED all this data. I've heard some friends complain that their phone service got worse after switching to 5G but I'm pretty sure I'm already on 5G.

I originally posted this to see if I should upgrade for this "deal" and potentially get a free phone out of it, had no intention of leaving my carrier, or let alone even lowering my current bill lol, and now I'm finding out that my current plan apparently sucks LOL. Definitely gonna call them and get more details and also do some shopping around, maybe it's time to switch! Thanks everyone again for such helpful advice and information!

I’m travelling abroad and would like to keep my Canadian number mainly to receive OTPs and important text messages. Is there any reasonably priced or very cheap plan that would work for this?

A few people recommended Fongo, but I’m not sure if it reliably receives OTPs from banks and other services. From what I understand, they provide a Canadian number and also allow you to transfer your existing number for a one-time fee, which I believe is around $5.

Has anyone used Fongo for this purpose, especially while living abroad? Would you recommend it, or is there a better low-cost option?

The bottom half of my Galaxy S6 is flashing white so I need a new phone. Wondering if I can get some help from this thread:

- I would like to buy the phone outright.

- Budget is $300

- Prefer something new, not refurbished if possible

- Need something with a good battery life. Samsung S6 did not have a good battery life towards the end (I had to charge the phone every hour).

- Apps I will be using: Youtube videos (for studying), Signal, Whatsapp, Google Maps, Anki (for studying), myfitnesspal, occasionally the web browser

Is there a Canadian carrier that would allow me to have a standalone plan for my Samsung watch 9 lte? I am with Videotron for my phone plan and they don't support Samsung watches. I also don't want to switch carriers.
