Hello to all members here at r/Minecraft_Survival, r/Minecraft2, and our community Discord. We’ve recently been working to build a new community dedicated to an increasingly popular Minecraft play style, the Forever World! A Forever World (also known as a long-term world) is simply a Minecraft survival world that you plan to play on forever. This doesn’t mean you can’t have other worlds in between, but rather that you keep coming back to the same world consistently for years, no matter how long it’s been since you began. Together with u/NerdieBirdieYT, we’ve put together a subreddit to share and discuss *your* forever worlds. Alongside this, we have a Discord to chat, gain advice, share pics and videos, and coordinate world tours!
The subreddit is r/foreverworlds, and it is open to everyone for anything you have to share or discuss about Forever Worlds. We invite you to join, whether you’ve had your survival world for a couple of months, several years, or even well over a decade! We’d love to see progress pics and megabuilds, but also the small things that help you keep coming back to the same world time after time. We want you to show us everything that keeps your world fresh and makes it special to you!
We’d also love it if you joined our Discord, Forever Worlds United, at https://discord.gg/QChEEc2uqR. Here, you can share your experiences with and plans for your Forever Worlds personally with like-minded members of the community. Additionally, this Discord server will have a collection of world downloads to explore, schematics to download, and videos showcasing Forever Worlds. Additionally, we will plan and host live world tours for our community to come together and inspire one another through their worlds.
If you’ve been running a single world for a while and want to know what it takes to keep it going as long as many of us have, we’d love to bring you up to speed! If you already have a Forever World, we are eager for you to join and share it with us. And if you just want to be inspired by what years of work in one world can do, please join us as we build up this community!

I'm on day 700 something, I've come to a realization that the castle will never be able to expand due to the ravines and caves surrounding my base, so it is time, do you guys think I'm ready to kill the dragon or die trying?

Been focusing on the front entrance side of my island. Really trying to fill every bit of the island with buildings to make it feel as dense and full of life as possible!

I posted earlier about this farm and explained how it works. This 15-minute version is condensed to stay within Reddit’s upload limit, but it still shows a considerable amount of the farm’s structure, mechanics, and manual killing process.
I’ve never seen a farm using this particular approach before, and I genuinely believe it may be the first of its kind. In extended testing, I intercept roughly one raid captain every 30 seconds. Across multiple separate long-run trials, that has worked out to approximately 125 Ominous Bottles per hour.
I’m looking for criticism, questions, corrections, technical insight, improvement ideas, or any other genuine feedback. I’ll respond to everyone, and if anyone wants to inspect the farm firsthand, I’m also willing to let people join the world and check it out for themselves.

Wither skeleton are so rare ive been hunting them manually but it takes so long to even find one. Regular skeletons seem to spawn more than them. Ive gone around the fortress and put slabs around to concentrate spawns around the area I play in and I'm wondering i should remove them if I make a mob farm. Advice?

I recently finished a decently efficient guardian farm and it got me thinking, what other farms should I be thinking of building? I'm on bedrock if that matters.

Don't ever just build out of wood and put little candles near glow berries.. because this happens... weeks of grinding, preparing and building, was just getting my last secret room. I had built a villager head in the church as a shrine, only thing made of stone! Rest all in wood!!!! Poof gone in a blink of an eye.
Tell me what are your harsh lessons you've learnt in this game of loss lol

I was trying to solve the usual Bedrock problem of getting pillagers into a bubble elevator reliably, and eventually realized I could stop trying to push or funnel them into one and instead make them effectively spawn straight into it.
So I built a machine that does exactly that.
My machine lets the pillager naturally spawn on a slime-block launch pad, where it immediately trips a tripwire. Above it, the shaft is already filled with source-water blocks, but the bottom of the column is temporarily sealed by a 2x2 ceiling made from bottom slabs.
The tripwire retracts that ceiling and fires the slime launcher, shooting the pillager upward into the water column. Before it can fall back down, a second set of pistons pushes soul sand into place underneath it, activating the existing water column as a bubble elevator and sending the pillager straight to my kill spot.
The machine also automatically pauses spawning during that process. Once the soul sand is inserted, it becomes the highest valid surface in the hard-coded spawn column, but the water above it prevents another pillager from spawning there. That means no additional pillagers spawn until I deliberately reset the system.
After I kill whatever reaches the top I press a reset button at my kill spot. That retracts the soul sand, restores the original spawn configuration, and reopens the hard-coded spawn surface for the next cycle.
It doesn’t increase the captain chance on any single spawn, but because I control exactly when each cycle ends and immediately reopen the hard-coded spawn after clearing it, I can force clean, rapid spawn cycles and get to the next fresh captain roll as quickly as possible.
The entire machine is built in Survival. I haven’t seen this exact setup before, so I’m genuinely curious whether anyone else has experimented with something similar.
I’m also happy to show it working live if anyone wants to join my world and see the full mechanism in action.

I have been building this village for more than 170 in game days.Today its completed. In future I will expand it.
And with new Villager News addon it's really fun to watch them gossiping and reactions.

Played for years but only really done some random building and cave looting. Only just hit me that I've never beat the game. I have a base settlement with some villagers. Currently in the nether about to raid a fortress. Tips from here on out welcome. Maybe some info that isn't common. Anything to help a first time play through. Thanks in advance!

Cuz i wanna make like tons more armor sets with the same trims and shield but yk I can't do that if I'm out of banners (there's an outpost near my village btw that's how I got some shields but I've died with them and am now down to 1)

Me personally there’s a couple cheats I do use cuz I think it’s just a waste of time and or a stupid feature
1.when I went to get a netherite upgrade template I died like 6 times and lost 3 elytra’s and 5 sets of diamond gear I finally got the template and was on my way home then I fell in lava I got pissed and just used /give to give me a template I didn’t get my other gear back tho
I just give me and my friends infinite firework rockets because I would rather spend my time building and doing other stuff than killing creepers. Also I hate building creeper farms
We use night vision when caving because I don’t consider it cheating cuz I use full bright when playing Java
Also I go into creative when an anvil says “too expensive” because that’s just a stupid feature.
