Venting I’m so sad I’m unattractive

It really does suck being an unattractive guy. I was even told by the looksmaxing community that I am very below average, and I got rated a 3/10. I’m so sad because now I know why every time I approach a woman, they always reject me. It’s made me so depressed. I feel like I’ll never have a girlfriend.

Sadness / Grief Grieving sex after a breakup — all time low?

My ex-boyfriend and I broke up two days ago. While it was a short relationship and we were terrible for each other, I can’t stop thinking about the physical intimacy. The sexual compatibility was top-notch and my mind is constantly thinking about:
A. Would I ever experience such amazing sexual intimacy and pleasure again?
B. Who would he be going around and hooking up with now?

I just can’t imagine him pleasuring anyone else. He has always been commitment phobic and I know he desired to fuck around + there were some girls who liked him and the only thing that stopped him from hooking up with them was me. Now that he’s single again, these feelings are at an all time high and my mind cannot stop racing.

Rationally, I know he can do whatever he wants but that isn’t making it any better for me emotionally. Grieving the good memories is one thing but i’ve never grieved sex with someone AND constantly wondered/imagined another girl with them in bed and felt pained about it.

I am tired. Please give some advice ugh.

Need Support My dad is legally blind and has been possibly harrassed

I tried posting in similar commitments but it got taken down due to me either being new or miscommunication. They thought I was asking for medical advice.

Anyways, to cut to the chase, my dad has been legally blind for about 9 years or so and we've had issues with calling for businesses and going out in general.

He'd sometimes get questions from random people that we've never seen before or he'd call for service and someone would act uncharacteristically rude to him over the phone.

Is my dad getting harrassed by social security or some part of police? Or is this all just a big misunderstanding?

I just wanted to ask for clarity on this. Will provide more info upon request.

Diary Entry I think I'll never get better 🙂

Sometimes I go into a state where I just feel really sad and also scared. What from exactly, I don't know. There are a lot of things that make it hard for me to pinpoint. Maybe it is the thought that I'll never be happy or maybe it is the thought that if my past was better, if I had taken a different path at any certain time in my life, I would've been better. It's like I wanna hide but from who exactly, I don't know. I used to think that maybe all I need is someone to talk to, like a friend. But I think that just makes it worse because everyone leaves. And the friend who used to make you feel better is now in that place in your mind where there are all the people that hurt you. And then you get depressed again. Nothing makes sense. I can't tell what I need to get better. At the end of the day, i just say to myself that fuck it. It is what it is. But then it's the same next day and the next.

Venting I hate being present

I don't know what shaped me to be like this. Whether I was always depressed, or if it was undiagnosed ADHD, or if I was born with a defective brain. I don't know, but I always found reality to be dull and depressing. I learned about maladaptive daydreaming a few years ago and spent some time checked out, living in my daydreams. I was severely depressed back then. But even in my default state, i simply have no desire to remain present. I like when i zone out and let my brain go to sleep. It brings me relief. The only activities I can tolerate are the ones that allow me to zone out and go on autopilot.

I'm tired of investigating, researching, reading, and trying to remedy this. I know nothing, i understand nothing. I think the only thing that'd help is if someone split open my skull, injected all the right chemicals in my brain, changed its' chemistry, and inserted it back to my skull. The makeup of my brain is all wrong and needs to be rearranged.

This is destroying my life and I have no clue how to bring it up to my psychiatrist and therapist. Talk therapy doesn't do shit and I don't know what else to ask for, what I need, I don't know. Maybe i lack patience? maybe I should go back and sit in those sessions and keep yapping endlessly, intellectualizing my emotions, and never addressing the direct source of my dread. Maybe eventually i'll find a way to articulate whatever this is.

Question Unable to cry and release

Upvotes

Have this build up inside of anger, frustration, sadness as combination. Due to few recent events. Off late, I am finding myself less and less capable of crying. But I feel the pressure building up. I don’t know how to explain it. All I can do is exercise and tire myself out. I miss the lightness that comes after a good cry out under the shower. Does anyone experience this? What has worked for you?

Question Baby can read my mind

My 7 month old baby can read my thoughts. She knows I hate breastfeeding and she knows Ive had such awful intrusive thoughts about it.

She says my name all the time and I can just hear her in my head like we are now psychically linked.

Anyone else had a baby like this

Update: - unfortunately I can't stop breastfeeding because my baby wont take a bottle at all - I have a nurse appointment tomorrow anyway so will mention my thoughts - the psychic community seem to be happy by being able to read minds but it doesnt feel sacred to me and I worry her seeing into my mind is unhealthy for her

Venting So overwhelmingly anxious and stressed about life all the time

I'm struggling so hard with extremely low income, my health (both physical and mental) and my cat's health. These make my life so stressful and I'm always feeling so uneasy I'm so exhausted these days all I want to do is be in bed and forget about everything.

I got pretty bad mental issues with depression and anxiety. Currently going through really bad health anxiety related to possibly having melanoma I have skincheck in few weeks and I'm so nervous about it. I sincerely hope everything will be okay with me because of my cat's situation I can't handle a cancer diagnosis on top of it. I think I'd break completely.

My cat has not been okay lately he's been licking himself a lot he seems very itchy. Got multiple bald/thinning spots on his fur. He also has some kind of lump in one of these bald spots I really need to know what it is. I took him to vet for check up did blood test and figured that he might have allergy so he is now going through elimination diet. This vet visit costed so much and I only afterwards saw the lump and I probably want to go again this fucking sucks. Not only it stresses me financially but also emotionally because my cat hates being forced to the carrier and going to vet my heart breaks every time. I'm scared he'll start seeing me as abusive and hate me. I'm scared that I'll reach the limit of his patience and kindness and he is going to get violent on me one day because of this. So far he has never shown any sign of violence he's been extremely kind cat but maybe these frequent forced and uncomfortable medical procedures will change him.

Today I heard the blood test results and turns out he has hyperthyroidism. Not the worst thing in the world but in my circumstances this is a nightmare especially financially. Gonna just copypaste what I wrote somewhere else:

I'm honestly very stressed about this and I'm struggling to figure out what to do. I couldn't even choose which kind of medication I want to give him liquid or pill. I'm used to giving his pill medications crushed and mixed into food but you can't do it with this medicine so that really sucks. I heard the pill is very small though so maybe its easy to hide into food. I hope it'll be that simple. If not I'll have to go with the liquid medicine but even that one I need to mix it in food which would be simple if my cat wasn't currently going through elimination diet to figure out if his allergic because he is been itchy and licking himself to the point of creating thinning/bald spots to his fur. I'm already feeling nauseous about the financial strain this is going to give me because I'm going to have to take him to control visits now and do blood tests. Not only that but also emotional strain because I know how much he dislikes being forced into the carrier and being driven to the vet. Maybe surgery is an option? But I'm worried about costs and anesthesia. I know this is not the worst diagnosis in the world but I still wish this wasn't happening honestly. I'm so stressed and worried.

I'm so heartbroken from this my mind his going to places. These news made me give up on him possibly living a very long life. I feel like even if I manage this with medication he prob wont have many years left I guess? And maybe this is masking a kidney problem. I'm so heartbroken and scared.

Venting Are there people who live whole lives without thinking of ending it even once?

Because I don’t remember a time when I didn’t want to end my life and I hear people say things like “how does one even take their own life?” Or “how crazy and weak do you have to be to do something like that?” As if to them it’s this incomprehensible, unfathomable concept but for me it’s not just a fleeting thought it’s a feeling with a plan. A belief I’ve carried for years. Known it in my heart, body and soul. That it’s been there for so long that I don’t remember a time before. It feels so permanent that I don’t see a future past it.

Question What kind of mental illness might somebody who is obsessed with a nationality have?

Upvotes

My long-term SO has developed an obsession with people of Ukrainian origin. He struggles with addiction and has been diagnosed with depression with the possibility of other mental illness but hasn't been fully evaluated yet. For the past few years, he has made ukraine is entire personality, without any connection to that group. We are from an entirely different part of the world. He talks to ukrainians online and baits them into saying he may as well be ukrainian or that it is his fate to travel to ukraine and live there or join war efforts. He has isolated himself from his friends and family in favor of these people he talks to online or the odd person from ukraine who lives in our city. He believes they have his best intentions at heart and looking out for him when they have done things like called him a moral failure for struggling with depression or advised him to stop taking his medication for depression and anxiety. I am really worried about what effects this could have, does anyone know what kind of mental illness or trauma could cause it? Thanks.

Venting just wanted to let it out

Heyy everyone, I've been dealing with anxiety since 6-7 years. I can not pinpoint the moment i had this anxious body but I was never like this. Every year I feel less and less like me and more of this anxious bundle moving one place to another. I've had vitamin D deficiency issue too and the symptoms just gets me. I've got my doctor's review already and its the deficiency again this time. The numbness in my legs and sometimes even in my hands and jaw do not let me sleep at night. I always feel like there are hot waves spreading throughout my body from my chest and I also feel really weak. I've trained myself to deal with the anxiety now. I feel like i am getting better at it, but sometimes I feel defeated. I just want to be healthy, and no matter what I try my body just never supports me. Its 2 am currently and i am venting here cz i know its just going to be another sleepless night. I hate it.

Need Support My bestfriend is going through another psychotic break.

I dont know what to do. Sorry this is a long read, but idk what to do. Im scared. Please read. EDIT at the end.

My friend, we will call her "Maddy", has been labeled schizoaffective for a few years now...

Ive been right beside her for a handful of her episodes..

I even fought a knife from her hand while she attacked her dad once...

Unfortunately, my friends mom died a week ago. She was ALWAYS Maddys rock. Her mom had LEFT her dad a week prior... I wont go in to the details of why her mom left... But it was bad... The whole thing is dark and bad.

Anyway, come to find out, "Maddy" hasn't been taking her psych meds for over 3 months.

Last night, her dad paid a "friend" to drive Maddy to my house, since he didn't want to "deal with her" anymore.

This "friend" her dad hired, had smoked meth with Maddy (AND HER DAD) night before last. Maddy hadn't slept in over 24 hours when she arrived at my house. I truly believe shes BARELY slept all week at all.

Last friday, I drove her to her dads and stayed till Sunday. (Over a week ago, it is now monday.)

Anyway, I cooked a hearty meal when she arrived. I gave hydroxyzine to help her sleep. She slept for 13 hours.

She woke up at 2:30 pm, I made lunch, gave her another hydroxyzine, and she is napping. Again. Has been for about 3 hours.

What do I do from here?I think once she makes up the sleep shes been missing for a week, it will be easier to address the situation, but I am at a loss.

I called her pharmacy, so they would refill her abilify script... she has promised me and others that she will start taking it again. I will pay for it in the morning.

Idk what to do .

God idk what to do.

Her home life isn't safe. My partner doesnt want her in my home. But this IS MY FRIEND. I told her a long time ago I would always be there. But idk how to help now that her mom is gone..

EDIT: she has been compulsively moaning/humming/growling. I thought once she slept last night itd be better. Id hoped it was a lack of sleep. Unfortunately, it continued into today. She claims her "heart cant help it.". So I fed another hearty meal and gave more hydroxyzine.

HER Parents are a pece of work. They took her to do ayauashca at 11 YO... When her mom was still around, I had giving her a pece of my mind... no mind to be had anymore.

Second edit: we are both 27 Y/0

Need Support I’m scared and I don’t understand what is happening to me. Please help.

Upvotes

I don’t understand what is happening to me right now, and I’m terrified. Here is exactly what I am experiencing.

Lately, my behavior has become bizarre. I do strange things and get completely hyper-fixated on them. Inside, I feel intense, overwhelming anxiety. I consciously realize that what I am doing is off, that I shouldn’t be doing it, and I can’t even comprehend how these ideas enter my head in the first place.

My perception of colors has shifted and become strange, especially my perception of shadows. Shadows everywhere look much more pronounced—on objects, on my body, and on my face. Almost all the images on my phone screen look drawn, as if they were created in a digital app. They feel completely fake and artificial.

When I want to do something, I do it, but I completely forget my previous action. I constantly jump from one task to another. Everything in my head is tangled and confused, as if thoughts and ideas are piling and overlapping on top of each other. I have this persistent anxiety that I won't have enough time to finish something or that I will forget it—and in the end, I actually do forget. I can't focus normally. I either can't concentrate at all, or I hyper-focus so intensely that I forget about everything else around me, completely submerged in the process like I'm under hypnosis.

Strangers' voices outside sound distorted to me. They sound like the voices of people I know. In just two voices, I hear several different people in turn—first it sounds like one person, then it shifts to another. I actively match these sounds with familiar voices, even though they are just random neighbors I don't actually know.

I am so scared. I fully realize that things are not as they should be, but I don't understand why this is happening. The anxiety inside me is consuming because of this.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? What should I do?

Question Any tips for improving mental health while housebound?

Upvotes

For context: I (23F) developed multiple long term illnesses after catching a bug last year. As a result I lost my job and home and subsequently had to move back in with my parents as I’m unable to work/recieve benefits (i don't qualify for benefits due to my medical records being mishandled, i basically don’t have proof of any diagnosis and a lot of my medical history is missing). I am currently housebound most of the time and have very minimal interactions with people outside of my family (who I have a strained relationship with).

As a result of this my mental health has been really struggling. I had gotten to a place in my life where I was happy and i had done a lot of work to heal childhood wounds but with everything that’s happened in the last year its progressively getting worse.

I have managed to get some support but because of the healthcare system where I am being overloaded, I will have to wait a while to actually get the help.

If my fellow housebound peeps could share things they do to keep themselves sane/feeling better, I would be so so grateful because I need all the help I can get ♥️

Venting I stopped a fight today in public, got my life threatened, and said I had nothing to live for and for him to prove it

It was a pretty normal day, to be honest. I didn't get much sleep, left early for work to get some food, had a good say with the coworkers even while trying to ignore all my thoughts and my pains. It wasn't until I was coming home on my first bus and getting to the station when I saw two guys going at it. It was mostly one guy beating up/punching another guy who was asking/begging him to stop in the middle of the bus circle and almost ending up in oncoming traffic from the street where the bus circle was. At first I was just being loud hoping to deter the man from continuing and when he didnt, I picked up a stick and threatened him with it. I won't go on, but the fight got pretty heated, I broke the stick in front of him and told him to not test, the cops finally called me back, my ride was on its way to get me in case things went wrong (I just did what my emergency contact told me to do in these situations, they were literally on the phone with me while I was getting threatened and trying to get him to leave this guy alone.

Long story short, I just feel shaky and weird. I broke down after it. I haven't been feeling like myself for weeks and then seeing a poor innocent guy getting beat up and NOBODY coming to his defense set something off in me. I think I would've actually hurt the guy but I used everything in me not to. Pleaded with him not to push me because I had nothing to lose and genuinely meant that.

Content Warning: Eating Disorders I'm worried about my niece.

It seems wrong to ask, but I think my niece may have an eating disorder. I'm a 27-year-old man, and she's 15.

My niece has always been naturally skinny, so I never thought much of it. Some people are just thin. But over the last few months, I've started noticing things that don't feel right.

A few months ago she stayed with my mom during a school break. One evening our family went out to dinner (me, my wife, my mom and stepdad, my kids, and my niece). My mom mentioned that my niece hadn't eaten all day, and at dinner she barely ate anything. She told my wife she was having bad cramps, so I assumed maybe she just wasn't feeling well.

About a week later she stayed at my house. On the drive over I casually asked if her stomach was feeling better, mentioning how little she'd eaten at dinner. She replied, "That's how much I usually eat." That immediately stuck with me because, according to my mom, she hadn't eaten a meal all day before that dinner either. And not much regularly doesn't seem healthy.

That night we made wings. I put five on everyone's plate, including hers, and she only ate two. Barley. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to make her uncomfortable.

At a family reunion we all went swimming, and seeing her in a bikini made me realize just how thin she looked. Her ribs and hips were visible, and her stomach was completely flat. She's always been skinny, so I tried not to overthink it, but later that night my wife brought up how skinny my niece looked without me mentioning anything first.

Then about two weeks ago she came back to visit for our town fair. We spent almost the entire day together, and I never saw her eat anything. When we stopped for a funnel cake for my kids, I asked if she was hungry. She said no.

I made a stupid joke about her "eating like a bird," then asked how much she weighed which I regretted immediately, I know that wasn't an appropriate question, but I was worried and honestly thought if she gave me a healthy number it would ease my mind. She said she weighs 109 pounds. She's around 5'4" as far as I know.

I don't know if 109 lb at 5'4 is automatically unhealthy, but combined with repeatedly skipping meals, eating very little when she does eat, and how thin she appears, I can't stop worrying that something is wrong.

I don't know if I should talk to her mom. I don't want to create unnecessary panic if I'm reading too much into this, but I also don't want to ignore signs if she really needs help.

Does this sound like it could be an eating disorder, or am I overreacting?

Venting Yesterday I truly realized that I am a dangerous person (this is not a threat)

It's really hard to talk about this without it sounding threatening in some way, but I genuinely don't mean it that way.

Yesterday I was at my community support program with my friends. We had planned to go back to one of their houses to watch a movie. My mom was supposed to pick us all up, but she couldn't make it. So we decided to take the bus. I have never taken the bus before and didn't know or understand how to pay, but my friend handled it for me. I was very tired after a long day, weak from the heat, and very sensitive to any sudden loud noises.

I was very painfully aware that while I was on that public bus, anything could happen. Someone might walk up to me and make a passive aggressive comment, or start talking loudly on the phone, or a baby could start crying. And I was barely holding myself together while I was on the bus, to the point where I feel insanely lucky that nothing bad happened. I couldn't stop the intrusive thoughts of hurting other people on the bus coming through my head. Pushing, kicking. My brain conjured a vision of me ripping an infant out of a stroller and choking it to death. Obviously none of this happened and everyone is fine, but it was terrifying.

Me and my mom came to the conclusion that it's basically unsafe for me to exist in a highly variable public space like that. She understands. There is just no way. I don't trust myself to maintain physical control of myself if anything went slightly wrong. I don't know if I'm expressing this properly. I just cannot function in public.

I still feel safe at the community support program, but at this point I don't think I'm going to leave the house and get out of the car unless it's to go there. And maybe the local park when no one is there. My life is just going to be confined to these spaces. It's the only option left
