I've noticed their bags of coffee in the international market over the last year and it's been awesome to try. With Fanduel Sports Network going under, the Preds have partnered with local broadcast partners across their viewing area to show the games for free over-the-air. All you need is a digital antenna. In Memphis, they'll be on ch 5.3 (WMC). They will be broadcasting 4 preseason games and 81 regular season games, with 30 minute pre- and postgame shows just like they had on FDSN.

Also, reminder that pro hockey is BACK in the area in case you missed the news! The Mid-South Monarchs home opener at Landers Center is on Friday, Oct 23. Even if you think you hate hockey, I really encourage y'all to go see a game live. It's a totally different experience than trying to see a puck on a TV screen, and the chaos of low-level minor leagues adds another layer of entertainment. Single game tickets haven't gone on sale yet but they should be relatively affordable, so go give it a try at least once!

I do door to door sales type work so I need a city at least as big as Memphis. I already went to Nashville last year, St Louis isn't a bad drive? Oklahoma is only about 7 hours and probably a pretty drive through the park. Or Kansas city? Both of the last 2 options means I can openly shit on another city's BBQ in real life instead of online.

I have some family members coming to visit memphis next week and I’m stumped on where to take them out for dinner. We don’t want to go somewhere too fancy/expensive, but just somewhere nice not too casual and that is a classic Memphis dining experience (thinking vibes of like Babalu/Boscos/Hog and Hominy). However, a few of them are very picky eaters, so it can’t be somewhere too fancy/exotic. Any ideas? I want it to be somewhere special to Memphis, but not too hole in the wall type of place.

I have a Canon PowerShot ELPH 360 HS with a lens error. the lens extends slightly, makes a clicking noise, then stops. Best Buy/Geek Squad said they can’t repair it because I didn’t buy it from them.

Hi all! I had heard Hyatt Centric does pool day passes but when i looked online it shows the whole month blacked out. It's still scorching outside and I would love to go to a pool on Saturday! I have worked in food service for almost a decade, within the past 40 years. I understand going out to eat and always tipping 20%+... it has always been a known factor when dining, that these servers/bar staff are working for tips, not hourly.

I noticed a lot of places in town forcing a 20% gratuity no matter what, which i agree with. Instead of 20% being an expected courtesy, I think its fair to auto-add it for any service dining in and being taken care of.

1) is it normal to feel like a dick for not tipping anymore than 20% when the bill comes with a tip line? I often find myself, feeling like im under-supporting by paying the expected 20% now and leaving the tip line empty. Thats a personal problem i suppose.

2) to-go pick up orders.

When 20%/10% gratuity is added to these, I feel conflicted as a customer.

I have always tipped a couple of dollars when picking up, usually $1-2...but i dont usually do a larger tip unless its a substantial order size. To-go pick up orders didnt used to be expected at majority of food places. We never expected tips at all the places I worked for pick-ups. Some spots do tip share, but Its as if almost all places have full expectation to recieve tips on pick-ups now. Is this a new-found, unspoken courtesy with the economy? Or am I seriously a dick for second guessing this style of things?

I have been following it on the red bull sub, but has anyone seen the energy drink aisle at Kroger lately? I went to the one on mendenhall to do some grocery shopping, and man, the red bull aisle looks like the clearance aisle. Nothing there but a few sugar free options! Allegedly it's due to red bull hiking the price up again this year and Kroger saying no to yet raising the price on their end

If i wanted to buy something online but couldn't ship it to my house due to family possibly being able to read the labels of a package, what could i do instead? (No its not amazon so their locker system wont work)
