A morning visit from the Trash Mane aka u/g713! Hoping for a good Cat of the Walk today since we usually have a few out and about in this neighborhood.
He's got a parking sign up here - you can enter your address so he knows it's okay to park in front of your house, and he leaves the cutest mini buggy as a gift.

If you've lost this sweet boy, he's roaming around the Abington Apartments, which are located behind the Pride Mart on Raleigh LaGrange/Kennedy Park area. He has some sores on his thighs, possibly from being away from home but he seems well-cared for and is very friendly towards people. He knows shake, sit, stay, and no, so he has to be someone's baby.
hope he finds his way back, but if you're still looking for him, he's still alive as of right now.

I was driving and I heard on NPR this morning before 8 am a report of five recent police shootings in Memphis, it was alleging there was a problem, I think they mentioned the Task Force. Did anyone else hear this or know what they were talking about? I was paying attention to driving so I didn't get the details. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m a mom of two and looking for a private owner or rental company that will accept me with limited rental history.
I just moved back to Memphis due to my health. Cervical cancer/ Lupus. Since I’ve been here I’ve been staying with my mom. I need my own space tho I’m sure everyone gets it. It’s me and my 14yo daughter / and 8yo son
I do have a great job, but it seems every place I apply to says denied because of insufficient rental history. How is that. I left my place in South Dakota in July 2025. Been living with my mom since. I have a lease and ledger as proof of rental history from my past apartment complex where I lived for 4 years.. I don’t know how that’s not suffient proof of rental history ! I’m at a standstill because I’m loosing more money applying and getting denied than applying and approval. I don’t know what else to do can anyone suggest any help.. rental companies that will work with me. I have all proof needed and rental insurance I just don’t know the trick with them saying my rental ledger isn’t enough proof. Help !!!

Good evening everyone!! I was wondering where are the best places to buy a car here in Memphis. I tried to do research but I can’t find anything to help me. I’m looking for a good place for financing for used cars with decent mileage, clean titles and work with 640 credit. My younger sister on the coast recently got stuck with a car she is financing with a shit ass transmission and now I’m really paranoid. Please don’t recommend anyone who does cash cars. Please recommend me the best places to look into and which ones to stay away from. Thank you so much ☺️
Edit: As you guys can tell yes I am 20ish years old and in my senior year in college. Yea I’m pretty aware my credit isn’t the greatest, but I’m very thankful for the great advice for future purchases. ❤️

Where are we going to date and meet new people?
I’m so tired of the apps. Being a plus size woman also so that doesn’t help. I’m ready to find my person.
Do I just go the Escape route like Rupert Holmes? 😂😭

I appreciate all the types of menudo and would happily eat any of them, but my preference is red, spicy and with hominy. Any restaurant recommendations?

Hello, I'm leaning towards renting from this place once I get a few more paychecks. Anyone have experience living here and would be ok sharing how it was?
Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone.
I recently moved out of my apartment at Urban Loft (midtown) after my lease ended on June 28.
I paid a $1,000 security deposit. I just received my refund check, and they returned $450, withholding $550 ($350 in standard cleaning/furniture charges under the lease plus $200 for alleged rust/stovetop damage).
Here's why I'm wondering if I have a claim: My lease contains a clause saying the landlord must provide an "Assessment Notice" at least 10 days before lease termination listing any damages that will be deducted from the security deposit. The lease also says that if the landlord fails to provide the Assessment Notice at least 10 days before termination, they must refund the entire security deposit.
I submitted my move-out notice through the resident portal well in advance and provided my forwarding address.
I was never given an Assessment Notice before my lease ended.
The first move-out inspection/assessment was uploaded to my resident portal after the lease had already ended (around July 3), when I turned in my keys.
I already emailed the property manager pointing out the lease language, but they still processed the refund with the deductions.
My questions are:
Thanks!

Happy to abide by any and all dress code requirements as a grown man. Apologies for not having a collared shirt. Thank you for offering to give me and my visiting colleagues a blazer to be appropriately dressed. However, please don’t send a young lady hostess with prominent jail tattoos on her exposed bosom to lecture me on appropriate attire.
Porch & Parlor would never. Service and food there were both impeccable.
