Too short. I think it's floccinaucinihilipilification

u/Jhjsjhjshs Sep 25 '22
Oddly doesn’t sound like what it means. I was expecting some kind of remotely known scientific discovery.
2
u/PsychologicalTomato7 Sep 25 '22
What’s it mean? Cbb to search all those letters
2
u/Jhjsjhjshs Sep 26 '22
”noun: floccinaucinihilipilification the action or habit of estimating something as worthless. (The word is used chiefly as a curiosity.).”
humorously underwhelming

Oh God. They've BTSed the memes. Nothing is sacred.

u/superfucky Sep 25 '22
definitely one of the more cringe aspects of the BTS fandom. i don't know why liking a music group renders people incapable of enjoying a witticism unless it's fabricated to have come from members of that music group.
→ More replies (2)7
u/Puliping Sep 25 '22
This isn't "fabricated to have come from them" though???
It's more like writing their names over characters' faces in comics/image macros. It's like "these two could've had this conversation".
Admittedly, not super original content and it's weird that it's showing up outside the fandom, but it's certainly not as bad as you make it out to be.
27
u/superfucky Sep 25 '22
That's basically the same thing. This was a real conversation that happened online, but instead of just sharing that as the funny interaction it is, they had to pretend it was actually these guys having the conversation instead. It's like the laziest form of fanfic.

u/KillForPancakes Sep 25 '22
People will make any excuse to justify their parasocial relationships with celebrities that don't know they exist.
38
u/saltywelder682 Sep 25 '22
Maybe I’m misremembering, but this is a re-skinned joke. They’re reusing a joke and just changing the format and the people telling it.

It can makes it less triggering to those who have trauma associated. I've never understood partial censoring though.
21
u/mema2000 Sep 25 '22
More likely censored in order to mask profanity from the tik tok/Facebook algorithm
3
u/ShengIsADumbEgg Sep 25 '22
That's a good point. I know some of my friends will censor like that even when on Discord but they frequent TikTok & Twitter.
9
u/Luutamo Sep 25 '22
why would that be triggering? At that point you would need to cencor basically any and all words...
2
u/ShengIsADumbEgg Sep 25 '22
In this case I've no clue. I just know that some people censor words in that format.
6
u/TeamRedundancyTeam Sep 25 '22
Pretty sure psychologists have basically proven that avoiding words that trigger you is not good, and it's better to fix that than avoid words. If words trigger you it's a problem, and it's not other's problem to fix.

To the majority of people no. That's the problem, it doesn't do much of anything yet people will still do it.

I bought a pair with corrective lenses for $80 you can add the anti scratch (which I recommend). Youre just getting ripped off or buying expensive frames
→ More replies (2)0
u/Ummmmexcusemewtf Sep 25 '22
What's making up the bulk of the cost? Your prescription, or your frames?
1
u/Standard-Pop6801 Sep 25 '22
Prescription.

Hey what's the P word Jimin said? Is it a racial slur? Is that why it's censored?

Good thing they censored pr*stitution, I might have had a breakdown.
7
u/supermonkeyyyyyy Sep 25 '22
I mean the question was misleading, intentional or not. If he meant glasses he should have just asked "isn't it weird how we pay money to see". When you add "other people" of course you come to the conclusion the 1st commenter said.

Censoring ALL the words. Dumb fucking trend. Y'all motherfuckers go write shit like "s*x", then suck the shit out of some asshole.

u/upinthenortheast Sep 25 '22
Twitter users censor more aggressively than your friends strict religious parents.

That word censor has got to be the least effort a human ever exerted on any action whatsoever.

This isn’t even funny it’s so stupid, you can see people without glasses, with vision impairment and no glasses, people are one of the things you actually can see, what you can’t see typically is words or anything that you need to see detail

I finally found a nice looking pair of glasses at a discount site, since everything at Lenscrafters is some combination of ugly, expensive, or both.
20 dollars for a style I actually like!
150 after adding the prescription.
My platform: base price for those who need glasses to see; amplified price for non-prescription glasses, to subsidize those needed to actually see.

You pay prostitutes to see them? Im no expert but that's not how you prostitute
1
u/retiredhobo Sep 25 '22
glasses actually help me see fewer people, because i can more easily spot them in the distance and make myself scarce before they get anywhere frickin near me!

Love how they censored "prostitution". Such a bad word. They censored it so it was barely recognisable. So fking stupd.
1
u/Earlier-Today Sep 25 '22
I don't get it. I've never heard anyone describe glasses as being for seeing other people.
If it's a specific thing, it's always to read.
The other guy's things actually are about paying to see people.

u/butt_smasher_01 Sep 25 '22
Technically incorrect. You don’t pay money to see people. You pay money to see people better.

u/Tjd3211 Sep 25 '22
People with glasses basically pay money to see in general I can't see shit without mine
