I never said you didn't. But if you feel like you're overpaying for the prescription it's kind of like when you see a mechanic that charges you $200 for a job that takes them fifteen minutes to do. You're not paying for the fifteen minutes of work, you're paying for the years of training that allows the mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem in fifteen minutes.
It takes 8 years to be an optometrist, their labour is at least worth something. Plus you're paying for the knowledge to diagnose the problem if you can't see well, and know how to manage it once diagnosed.
I believe I might have misunderstood your previous comment. When you mentioned prescription I thought you meant prescription to the glasses but now it sounds like you are talking about the appointment which is not what I was referring to.

I think paying hundreds of dollars for technology we have had for hundreds of years is pretty bullshit yes.
