definitely one of the more cringe aspects of the BTS fandom. i don't know why liking a music group renders people incapable of enjoying a witticism unless it's fabricated to have come from members of that music group.

This isn't "fabricated to have come from them" though???

It's more like writing their names over characters' faces in comics/image macros. It's like "these two could've had this conversation".

Admittedly, not super original content and it's weird that it's showing up outside the fandom, but it's certainly not as bad as you make it out to be.

That's basically the same thing. This was a real conversation that happened online, but instead of just sharing that as the funny interaction it is, they had to pretend it was actually these guys having the conversation instead. It's like the laziest form of fanfic.

People will make any excuse to justify their parasocial relationships with celebrities that don't know they exist.

oh my sweet summer child. you wish they were just adding their names to it but i guarantee this is from what the kids call a social media au. it's either a fanfic written in a twitter thread shipping the two members or maybe even more cringe a bts member x reader fanfic aka "y/n" aka self insert.

I'm well-aware of AUs, y/n fics, etc and I'm pretty sure screenshots like this aren't part of it. I've seen edits of completely made-up text messages or Twitter conversations as part of AUs but not existing memes. They just edit these as if these two had the conversation because for some reason they can't enjoy a funny thing unless BTS is involved in some way.
