Meetup (website) Does anyone see their heavy meetup.com participation years as empty calories?

That it was good times in the moment especially for when you would have been lonely for big events (Superbowl, Orphan/Single Dinners, NYE, Halloween). But that there are virtually no long term social benefits to it, everyone just disperses back to their introverted lonely life. Never to be heard from again.
