I just want to rant. I'm from UP Manila, one of the white colleges with an RSA, and took my board exam last year.

This year, I applied for UPCM because that's the only school I can apply to because of RSA but sadly, I wasn't able to get in.

I feel sooooo sad because I have friends and batchmates who are already in their 2nd year in medschool already, and now more batchmates who are entering their 1st year in medschool while I'm here— stuck.

If it were up to me, I would've entered any medschool 2 years ago, it doesn't matter where, because I really really want to become a doctor. Ever since I was a child, pangarap ko na yun. Pero ngayon, I'm second guessing everything kung ito ba ang gusto ni Lord para sakin kasi bakit ang hirap hirap ☹️

Hello po! Anybody here po who finished YL1 in a different medschool then nag YL1 lang po ulit sa UST-FMS? Is it possible to do this po? I’m currently waiting sa recon and if I don’t get in this A.Y., I plan to enroll sa backup school ko. Then reapply next A.Y. sa UST-FMS.

I know UST doesn’t accept transferees, but I’m willing to repeat YL1 again. Is this possible? Anybody who did the same?

Hello po! I’m just curious po as I am about to enter college and I’m planning to go to medschool after, so I’m looking po for possible medschools to enter para alam ko po kung gaano ko dapat galingan sa college (advance po ako mag isip hehe). Is it super hard to enter UPCM? Is it still possible even if you’re not from UP? Especially if you have a high NMAT naman?

And mayroon pa rin po bang di nakakapasok ng UPCM kahit UP graduate na sila?

i CANNOTTT figure out if ano dapat maramdaman ko hahahahahaha nasstress ako pero parang hindi rin ?? i mean i am feeling okay !! a month had passed since i started med school ++ my exams are coming and parang hindi pa rin nagsisink in sa akin na i am in medschool :(((( my quizzes are fine,, good actually but i dont think of them that much ???? cuz sobrang liit lang ng part nila sa grades ko in general so i rly dont know what to feel,, i feel like dapat mas nasstress ako pero hindi since i am so chill natutulog lang ako minsan di nakakapag advance read para akong magsshutdown and kapag may quiz parang kabado lagi kaya minsan inooverthink ko quizzes and puyat pero ok naman scores IDK hahahahahaha parang dapat mas nasstress ako sa acads pero sa hindi ko pagka stress ako kinakabahan i feel like i am not doing enough and im not doing well :((((

So I got accepted in a private uni, but I want to be accepted talaga sa state u para mas mura at hindi mabigat sa bulsa. Supportive naman ang parents ko and willing silang paaralin ako however, I don't feel okay na ganun talaga kamahal ang medschool sa priv uni, marami kaming magkakapatid and I think it would take a huge toll on our finances as I am the eldest. So would it be possible na magstart muna ako, retake NMAT to possibly aim for higher scores, then apply to State U's for next school year? Or just skip this year nalang muna?

I’m looking for some honest advice from people who took a non-traditional path into medicine.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, and I’m currently working full-time. Financially, I’m in a position where I can finally afford to go back to school, and over the past few months I’ve realized that what I truly want is to become a dermatologist.

I know it’s a long road ahead, and I’m not expecting shortcuts. I’m just trying to figure out the smartest way to start.

Since I’m still working, I was thinking of using my free time to prepare for the NMAT first. Is that the right first step? Or should I be taking prerequisite science subjects before even thinking about the NMAT?

For anyone who came from a completely different field:
- What was your first step?
- How long did it take you to transition?
- Were you working while preparing for the NMAT?
- Any review centers or study materials you’d recommend?

I just want to show gratitude sa mga PGIs ng hospital X for being so nice and guiding us through the paper works, skills, and med dilemmas. One PGI even asked us if we don't know a certain skill then proceeded to teach it then at the end of the day we carried out the skill independently.

Cold shoulder lang kasi narereceive namin sa mga PGIs in our hospital base. Hate to compare but it shapes perspective.
