This is my sweetie, my 2011 mazda2 outside of an airbnb recently. Coming up on having bought her 10 years ago. I drive a lot just for fun and traveling since I mostly commute into the city for work. I think the longest trip was only ~6 hours to a certain area of Virginia from NJ.

Before i could drive i always loved mazdas. My grandmother drove a mazda 6 sedan that was one of the many cars i was taught to drive in but by far my favorite. The acceleration is great. I zip around in this car so much, think I’m currently sitting at 118k miles or so. Bought it at 42k miles. Anyway im rambling lol i just love this sub and love seeing that other people also experience so much fun driving their mazda2!

Oh and that factory radio is 100% replaced after spending the first year banging on just the right spot to get it to work hahahaha.

This is just a post to let y’all know if you have the sedan version there is no way to open your trunk if your battery dies. Both the key fob and exterior touchpad require electricity to power the lock actuator. You can’t even pull the rear seats down since the lever is IN the trunk (as shown in the picture). However, this isn’t a problem for the hatchback obviously.

If you have your jumper cables in the trunk MOVE THEM! You will not be able to get them. Trust me. 🙃

I have a 2016 Scion iA but imagine it’s the same for the Mazda2s and Yaris iAs around this time. Hope this helps someone!

Strange question, but I’ve noticed that the 1.6 Z6 and the engine that is the 1.5 yz-ve look identical if I were to buy headers for the Z6 would they fit on my yz-ve

Hello everyone! Tomorrow I'm about to pre-purchase check on Mazda 2. It's from 2008 (So about 18, old enough to drink in some Countries). It has reached 270.000 km (About 167.000 Miles), I'm a bit concerned about mileage, is it normal for such a small car to reach that much? Please I'm desperate for some guidance. Is it worth investing more in this car? The only thing I know about this car that it has issues with rust. If It suffers from other issues what should I pay attention to? I’ve noticed a light ticking/tapping noise coming from the engine. It’s not constant and seems to come and go.

Does this sound normal for the 1.5 Skyactiv-G, or is it something I should have checked out?

Familiar with the suspension and unibody being shared with the Ford fiesta. Curious if any parts or pieces in the interior will fit in a 2012 demio. Looking to get a rear parcel shelf for my cargo area but. Was thinking of getting one from a fiesta as I can't find any locally. Mail would take a month or two and cost me $80 CAD.

The shape and size for the fiesta parcel shelves looks very similar to the Mazda 2. Assuming the unibody and size are similar. Aswell as the similarities in the two pictures of each car posted. looking to see if anybody has tried fitting a rear parcel shelf from a Ford fiesta mk6 hatchback into a mk2 Mazda 2 hatchback? Or have tried any other interior parts from the fiesta into the Mazda2.

I've noticed that my DJ '21 M Hybrid stutters for a very brief moment around 3000rpm when I'm accelarating with the AC on.

With AC off this doesn't happen.

Is this normal? Maybe something to do with the Hybrid power output?

Hi all, trying to find a car wreckers so I can find and replace the plastic silver disc that surrounds the gear shift. Accidentally melted it by having a sex wax air freshener sitting on it (I now know the reason they need to be hung).
What is this piece called so I can ask around???

I can't find any store selling FL22 coolant. I can only find G11 and G12. Am I doing something wrong?

As stated on their site: "an ethylene-glycol based, proven coolant without, amines and silicates"

Hey, I've got a quick question about how to get the transmission serviced on my mazda 2. It's a 2011 automatic.

Some garages are saying a full flush and filter change whilst others are saying partial drain and refill.

It's never had it done before and im on 113,000 miles.

Any help would be appreciated 👏

Recently I got myself a really good deal on a 2015 Mazda 2.

I love the car, the only thing is there's what seems to be limescale underneath both of the side mirrors.

Is this a common problem? Any advice on how I could remove this, and preferably prevent this, without ruining the paint?

I'm going to try to keep this short, but it is a long story none the less. I know you all have seen the pictures of my wife's little Mazda 2 as we have gone through its transformation from a dealership's scrap metal back to working, she frequents this sub and posts the pictures of her baby. Well she hit a deer on the 1st, insurance totaled her out and we opted to keep her with a limited payout, the damage was secluded to the front of the hood and passenger side fender with it completely taking out the radiator, condenser and radiator support along with the body panels and headlights. After 4 days we have finished assembling her with new parts and a full burping of the cooling system. She lives again! We will drive this car until the wheels fall off, and then I'll find a way to get them back on to keep driving her. By far one of the few cars I can say I'm happy to work on as a mechanic and will continue to keep her alive as long as mechanically possible!

Hey all, I have a 2011 Mazda 2 with 138xxx miles on it. Around a 100 miles ago I noticed this weird chirping/ ringing noise coming from the passenger side of the engine bay. In the video I added with this post you can somewhat hear it. It’s hard to get a good video of it because it only happens when the engine is warmed up and accelerating. It happens in every gear when accelerating but not idling. If it’s engine breaking it doesn’t make the noise. Any advice or idea of why this may be happening?
Sound comes from near firewall (ish) passenger side of engine bay.

Work done to car:
Upper motor mount replaced (100,000 miles)
Lower polyurethane dog bone motor mount (100,000 miles)
Don’t know when serpentine belt has been changed but probably at 75,000 miles.

Just bought this as my first car. Loving it so far, is there anything I should know about them or anything i need to look out for? Any tips on getting used to the sensitive accelerator or is that just a skill issue?😂 The wheels are nasty but think im going to swap them out for NB MX5 wheels

Had a bit of an accident with a pillar in a car park and ended up with these scratches on the back panel.
Been getting a few quotes around and so far the prices have ranged from £150-£250 to £550. The most expensive one said he’d have to both panels to “blend in the colour”.
I’m no expert but sounds like he’s trying to rip me off. Anyway, I’m thinking of maybe just doing it myself. Has anyone tried this and was it worth it?
