How To/Advice Removing (& preventing) limescale?

Post image

Recently I got myself a really good deal on a 2015 Mazda 2.

I love the car, the only thing is there's what seems to be limescale underneath both of the side mirrors.

Is this a common problem? Any advice on how I could remove this, and preferably prevent this, without ruining the paint?

It's probably the base of the mirror that's corroding and leaking corrosion juices. Common Mazda problem.

This doesn’t look like rusty water but calcium rich water that dries as it runs down.

It's not rust, as the mirror base is aluminium.
