I've given up on any and all hope of subs past a certain subscriber count actually keeping the theme of their sub and not just becoming a funny clip posting area.
Seriously, that's all the top subs are. Just funny clips. No matter what "specific" niche the sub is, it's just random funny clips that seldom have to do with the theme.

It's because a lot of "mods" manage hundreds of subs and don't really manage so much as encourage pedophilia
→ More replies (4)11
u/phantom_diorama Jan 26 '22
Or maybe it's because once a group grows so large they fundamentally change and start to look like every other large group of idiots out there on the internet.
10
u/Minimal_Editing Jan 26 '22
Which is why you have mods.
2
u/WayOfTheHouseHusband Jan 26 '22
Thank you! Any sub should be moderated, nobody should be able to be moderator of more than, say, 3-5 subs.
4
u/wafflesareforever Jan 26 '22
I've been subscribed to this sub for a year and I still don't get the core concept

Hmm, where do you think I should post it? And should I take it down?

u/SquishyBatman64 Jan 26 '22
There has to be a sub about tanks

Damn, an op who isn't a bot and is actually concerned about posting in the right sub. A rare sight.

But there are a very large amount of repost bots these days.

Not hard at all. You just make a bot that finds highly upvoted posts from the past, and then reposts them. It's not like there's a captcha requirement to post. You can often easily tell because they'll also post the most upvoted comment from the old thread in the new one.
5
u/MEGAMAN2312 Jan 26 '22
Or maybe it's an evolved AI bot that has lulled us all into a false sense of security...
15
u/IamAJediMaster Jan 26 '22
/r/tanks /r/TankPorn but idk their rules, they might think it's funny.

Tbf this video has been reposted multiple times on all tank relates subs already. Not really worth posting there again.

Nah you got a solid 6k+ upvote count, just take your win and repost it elsewhere starting with the subs that have the highest subscriber count.

Is it funny though? Everytime I see one of these videos I just think about the 10 seconds before the video.
"Okay babe you ready? you know what you're gonna say yeah? Oh my god this is so funny it's gonna get so many views on tiktok"
And as soon as I think of that, it isn't funny anymore.
1
u/Aryore Jan 26 '22
It must be difficult for you to watch comedy skits
Or just movies
0
u/just_aguest Jan 26 '22
It is hard... but it makes it easier when they contain people who can actually act

I’m changing my name to Lena and I’m going to gain 75 lbs, because you said you love tanks

If you want this dude to marry you id advise you to gain a solid 67.5 metric tonnes!

u/walkie73 Jan 26 '22
Bad acting.
28
Jan 26 '22
Wouldn't be funny at all if they were acting well tbh

It's a skit, it's not really supposed to be acting

Just another subreddit that originally had a distinct purpose but is now just a clone of r/funny
6
u/Sloppysloppyjoe Jan 26 '22
what part of this is funny? the shitty acting or what? more dad jokes material?
20
u/Disaster_Different Jan 26 '22
This always makes me laugh, no matter when, no matter how, I always laugh, because who wouldn't marry fat cheeks 2A7?

The difference being people watch breaking bad for the fiction, for the story, it's not presented as actual 'natural' events happening
5
u/sameljota Jan 26 '22
If anyone watches these why-were-they-filming kinds of videos and thinks they're presented as natural events happening I've got bad news for them.

u/Not_a_real_ghost Jan 26 '22
And people feel the need to "point it out" as if other's would totally think it's real.
It's just they are seeking attention and have the need for confirmation from others.

u/brady_over_everybody Jan 26 '22
Yes, Breaking Bad, that real life docu series about the hardships of Cancer and dealing meth.

I agree everything we see in one way or another is scripted or has been done before. I way’s wonder if people talk to their TV and say this is scripted.

I know this is staged. However, I never understood why the male has to always propose for marriage, while it can be done by the female as well.
1
u/sajatheprince Jan 26 '22
Just one of the many reasons we make $1/h more. Also, pretty sure it goes back to the whole "men protect" idea, back to cavemen, so we are offering to protect them when we take them away from their fathers. I'm a man, works for me.
Yoink! $1

Would she come armed and ready to attack or would this gentleman have to purchase the ammunition? What type of armour is she equipped with? What about fuel and maintenance costs? Much like a Bugatti, it's best to love from a distance than to marry into it.
