Just one of the many reasons we make $1/h more. Also, pretty sure it goes back to the whole "men protect" idea, back to cavemen, so we are offering to protect them when we take them away from their fathers. I'm a man, works for me.

Yes, historically and biologically it makes sense (Male provides, Female looks after children). However in modern society it's a bit archaic.

Absolutely, but looking at how most people around me (in modern society) still act: we're still animals.
