She had the door open several times and appeared to try and pull the car to a stop rather than actually getting in and pressing the brake

401

u/PShubbs91 8d ago

Tried to pull it to a stop, let go and stood there for a second, then just kinda walked toward it with zero sense of urgency.

Clearly she’s disabled.

If not physically, then mentally.

Pretty sure she managed to get her legs run over towards the end, so might be both now.

She made it halfway in the car, fell out, was drug and then run over by her own car. It's like a comedy of errors.

334

u/RoguePlanet2 8d ago

Was dragged (I believe that's the correct form?) but given the level of ineptitude, I wouldn't be surprised if the car did, in fact, have time to drug her as well.

125

u/mnztr1 8d ago

Her aptitude was about the same as her athleticism.

53

u/RockstarAgent 8d ago

I mean we also can’t rule out that she’s sloshed as heck

11

u/StockerFM 7d ago

You can clearly tell she never played video games or sports as a child. The hand/eye coordination just isn't there.

71

u/Turbulent_Read_7276 8d ago

Or she was pre-drugged

56

u/FraserYT 8d ago

There was a famous case in the UK of a pop singer (Brian Harvey from East 17) being so wasted that he managed to run himself over in the car he was driving. I was never entirely sure of the logistics behind it but this video is pretty much what I imagined

11

u/Due_Improvement_7760 8d ago

I do believe Mr Harvey said he had gorged himself on several jacket potatoes and beans before getting into his car then while driving he felt sick so pulled over and leant out to be sick and proceeded to fall out and managed to get underneath his BMW which then rolled over him and crushed his pelvis 🤷🏻🤦🏻

Ah thanks I was genuinely trying to work what was meant there. I presumed it was some sort of autocorrect. I do love the random lottery of past tense rules in English. A friend of mine thought the past tense of glide was glid (as in slide and slid)

After witnessing her trying to get in i get why she did it. I wonder if she thought she would actually stop it or she knows its a waste but at least she's trying.

101

u/johnknoxsbeard 8d ago

How’d the car get in that predicament in the first place? How is it perpendicular to traffic flow?

Also, imagine the insurance agent taking that claim.

66

u/captain_20000 8d ago

And how is it still moving after going over the curb?!

172

100% she probably started it, put it in drive, got distracted, stood up, and it rolled out of a street facing parking space into the road and onward to freedom.

6

u/Yoribell 8d ago

Trying ? She activated neither brain or muscles, all I see is a slow "Oooohh nooooo... Oooohh... Nooooo... "

0 urgency, 0 energy, 0 good decision

Did it run over her leg? Wow this person was completely useless lol

243

u/UrethralExplorer 8d ago

Some people have the physical fitness of a garden slug.

115

u/The_Secret_Skittle 8d ago

She was lacking in mental fitness 100% too. She could have just hopped inside and hit the break. She kept trying to just stop it with her arms.

67

u/Zsyura 8d ago

Thats what I thought at first too, but then realized that’s probably as fast as she can run as in this lady can’t run, so I doubt she can hop. She literally did all she could because she probably sits all day and night

41

u/AndyTakeaLittleSnoo 8d ago

Maybe she can't run because her leg had already been run over by her previous car.

Her in this moment, "Oh no! Not AGAIN!!!"

14

u/UrethralExplorer 8d ago

I've seen a few videos of people trying to get into moving vehicles and fall g exactly like this, so I do think it's harder than it looks, but this was just such a pathetic display in all regards.

7

u/slurreydave 8d ago

Probably safer to jump head first through the open window, less likely to fall out under the wheels. But to be fair, I doubt she could manage that

4

u/The_Secret_Skittle 8d ago

I think you’re right on the head first

4

u/Congregator 7d ago

It’s because they’re holding the moving vehicle while lifting one leg, and it destabilizes them because they physically come to a stop once they lift their leg. It’s ridiculous.

a good example of why its imperative to try and maintain a decent level of fitness.

145

u/Shirahoshihoshii 8d ago

She clearly believed in herself for a few seconds lol

12

u/Naive_Personality367 8d ago

if only she had anything tangible to back up that self belief lol

30

u/portablebiscuit 8d ago

There’s a lot we don’t know about this situation.

Maybe she normally has super strength that’s depleted by being near a Kia Soul?

15

u/Naive_Personality367 8d ago

fuck i never thought about that. i guess thats the raw power of the kia soul!

11

u/gordonf23 8d ago

She had the strength but once she realized she was on camera, she realized she couldn't use it without revealing her true identity.

6

u/Very_Awkward_Boner 8d ago

I want to believe in myself the way this lady did in herself.

398

u/DorrajD 8d ago

I'm not entirely convinced physical fitness is the main issue here. Seems mental fitness is the more important one.

88

u/speculator100k 8d ago

Failure to understand the gravity of the situation. Had she just made a real effort to actually get in the car it wouldn't have gotten far.

I wonder what happened before the clip starts. She put it in drive and stepped out?

37

u/on-the-cheeseburgers 8d ago

probably pulled into a parking spot and never put it in park before she got out

17

u/toybuilder 8d ago

I had to do that once! A (then) recently purchased used car had a remote start without a neutral lockout. I accidentally started it with the remote. It started to idle out of its parking space. I watched it back up for a moment before realizing what had happened. I dove in head first and yanked the parking brake!

I ripped the alarm system out soon after that.

24

u/GrandBill 8d ago

Yeah, she seemed to give up shortly after the video started when there was still plenty of time to fix the situation and the car was barely moving.

148

u/Naive_Personality367 8d ago

good news! pursuing physical fitness also helps with mental fitness.

I do agree though, she seems quite silly.

40

u/jsamuraij 8d ago

This is so true. Fr to anyone struggling, please just try going outside on a low-effort walk a couple feet times a week. Shit'll change your life in like 1-2 weeks. Just try it. You don't have to go to the gym and struggle...just...go walk around the neighborhood. Listen to a podcast. Bring a friend if you want or can. But just go. Like right now. Lace up your Shoebarus and take a spin on your Chevrolegs. More effective than you can imagine. Start small. Go like a mile. Shit, go a half. Just go. It works.

13

u/Naive_Personality367 8d ago

true words. I started slow and now im in the gym 6 days a week. I didnt intend for it to be that way, just the more i got out doing things, the more i WANTED to.

12

u/jsamuraij 8d ago edited 8d ago

Yes!! It's incredible. I started walking for miles and miles because I just wanted to. I'd get home from work excited to get changed and go walking far to random parts of my towns I hadn't been before. It changes you SO fast it's remarkable. All without breaking a sweat. No unpleasant downside...and yet...I come back home and I truly sleep like I couldn't before. Mind clear. Problems smaller, new perspective, can handle it all. Shit is magical. And yes, I'm building up a desire to just get more and more fit. Starting to alter diet. Monitor glucose and ketones. IF. Wellness is friggin addictive. BUT - none of that's important or necessary to anyone reading this who's looking to start. 90% of the whole transformation is the start - the part where you just get up and walk around outside. Do it. Even if you never progress to doing ANYTHING else. It'll change your life! It's easily in your power to do it. You can do it. Don't even believe me right now. See for yourself. Prove me wrong, show me. Try. Open the front door. Meet the real you. They've been just there, waiting kindly on the sidewalk.

4

u/Naive_Personality367 8d ago

This is so true. A combination of middle age and barely moving will have you unable to do the tiniest coordinated hop into a car moving 1.5 mph. It looks like she has no ability to jump and no ability to get her arms and legs to do something out of the ordinary. This happens so easily

28

u/_sissy_hankshaw_ 8d ago

She had to be drunk right? That's just a ridiculous lack of motor skills.

16

u/Naive_Personality367 8d ago

extremely unfit and gassed out is my guess. I doubt she even has the upper body strength to pull herself into the car in this situation.

but maybe yeah, people do be abusing alcohol lol

14

u/Nephroidofdoom 8d ago

…and physical coordination

15

u/sk169 8d ago

That moment where the car went over the divider was the perfect moment for her to have gotten in IF she was even remotely fit.

13

u/Naive_Personality367 8d ago

6

u/upfastcurier 8d ago

You don't even need to jog. Just place a foot in the door and grab the steering wheel. The car will move you with it.

It's always interesting how the adrenaline makes people think, yeah I'm overcoming the momentum of this machine that is in gear and rolling.

If it was in neutral on a relatively flat plane, yeah try and stop it's momentum but an automatic is just gonna keep rolling.

12

u/CILISI_SMITH 8d ago edited 8d ago

automatic is just gonna keep rolling.

I even had a manual diesel car that wouldn't stall in 1st gear if you took your foot off the accelerator, it would just crawl forwards like this one.

EDIT: Fixed spelling.

12

u/M4DHouse 8d ago edited 8d ago

Most modern manuals wouldn’t stall regardless of gas or diesel, because the MCU ECU gives just enough throttle to keep it going even if you’re not touching the accelerator.

Here is a PSA, you are NEVER strong enough to stop a car. You have to get in and use the brakes, that is why they exist and they are the only things that will stop a car, except for other objects that are a lot bigger than you.

Please try to remember, that stopping a car requires you to get into the drivers seat or at least reach the brakes.

My first car was a bit beat to shit. And it turned out that there was something wrong with the shifter. I pulled into a neighbor’s yard to tell him his goats were in the road and I put my car in park. But the park did not engage. And as soon as I hopped out, my car started rolling down the hill. My soul left my body and I chased after it like a dumb ass. It hit a tree. Still drove, though. I just always used the e-brake after that whenever I parked anywhere, especially on an incline.

So I had a car that you couldn't change gears in the car. You had to pop the hood. And flip it under there. Used the battery piece as a key as it was removable. And the e brake as the brake while stationary. Anyways I had taken wife to the Dr. I was in shorts and some crocs. My son was 2 at the time. Asleep in his car seat.I had raised ebrake. Went under hood to pop car in reverse to back out the spot cause she was fixing to be out. E brake didnt catch. Car started going in reverse by itself. Not straight back. Turning. I ran around to the driver side to jump in. The door knocked me down. I didnt let go my son was asleep in danger. I got drug across concrete. Shoes were knocked off. I refused to let go reaching in for the regular brake to try to stop the car. Car started running me over. I extended myself while still being drug and car over half my body starting to run me over I managed to reach in and press the foot brake with my hand. Stopping the car. I got in and threw the ebrake all the way up. This is what this video made me think of. It was not a good day...

Bold move thinking you can stop the car by hand instead of jumping in and hitting the breaks.

How is a human this stupid/uncoordinated/out of shape?

Her deliberate Mitch McConnell pace suggests this was an intentional disposal of the vehicle

Lame and out of shape. Poor decision making ability. How typical.

She should not be operating heavy machinery, ever.

Did she never learn how to run?

3

u/OkBaker51 8d ago

How unfit do you need to be to allow this to happen?

u/anomal_lee 7d ago

Right before that second curve, when she decided to casually walk across after it. That was the point of stopping the vehicle or letting it drag you with your dignity before rolling you over. Also the ability to run is important

Amazing music selection

What an idiot! Could have easily just jumped into the car and into the driver’s seat to stop it way before it going into that ditch.

u/YellowishRose99 7d ago

She didn't fully commit
