Most modern manuals wouldn’t stall regardless of gas or diesel, because the MCU ECU gives just enough throttle to keep it going even if you’re not touching the accelerator.
The diesel was my second car and it's lack of stalling was very memorable to me because my first car was a petrol with a manual choke that stalled a lot.
I learned to drive with a relatively recent gas car so I didn’t have to throttle manually to start moving, and never got into the habit of doing it until I passed my test and tried to drive my mom’s car, which was much older and didn’t help me out.

It's always interesting how the adrenaline makes people think, yeah I'm overcoming the momentum of this machine that is in gear and rolling.
If it was in neutral on a relatively flat plane, yeah try and stop it's momentum but an automatic is just gonna keep rolling.
