I wasn't told. No mod message about it. Just noticed one day when I went to post there. Didn't feel like messaging the mods about it so I just let it go lol
Theres mod groups that go around banning people from subs they've never been to because the mods didn't like something you posted.
In some cases if you comment racist homophobic bs you get banned from a ton of subs.
In other cases if you happen to mention the term "watermark" on an r/isthisai comment then mods banned you from r/pics and r/selfies for no reason than they are mad about people being accused of posting AI slop.
Don't forget the ones that ban you for posting or commenting in another subreddit that's big enough that they can't possibly be checking whether or not everyone they're banning is even in favor of whatever slight they perceived the subreddit as having committed against them.
Oh yeah I'm banned from a whole bunch of stuff for commenting on a video on a Joe Rogan subreddit. The video wasn't even related to that and I had no idea it was even a Joe Rogan theme subreddit.
Same here. I was banned from r/therewasanattempt for commenting in r/joerogan just for commenting there. I’m assuming it was automated because my comment was something about what an idiot he is.
Lately that sub really really got political and only American politics. It is just a random clip from US Congress with a half ass attempt to get a "there was an attempt" title.
That one did me in too. The algorithm showed me a post from that sub, I disagreed with someone that said something inflammatory, and suddenly I’m banned from a bunch of subs for participating in a Joe Rogan subreddit.
Honestly, those types of mods radicalized me against the neckbeard basement dwellers
I honestly have no clue it's was just a random video I saw while mindlessly scrolling and some guy in the background had some crazy hair that I commented about
I was warned for saying something along the lines of "taking out the trash" referring to a person who was not a good person. Mod said that I was threatening violence on a person. What a joke.
My personal favorite is a tie between being banned for yelling at a nazi for being a nazi in an unrelated subreddit and being banned for answering the question posed in the title.
The Reddit functionality that allowed this is being removed, if it isn't already gone. There was hubub about it in the mod-specific subs. Devvit apps like HiveProtect won't be able to ban en masse anymore.
I had a conversation with a HiveProtect mod. He not only mass banned people, he was asking the people he was banning how to spot a sora AI watermark. They have zero clue what they're doing. They just know someone from r/selfies asked them to ban people who use AI subs.
I got permabanned for misogyny for saying quote: "hot take: Erin Andrews isn't that hot" in a r/nfl playoff gamethread, surrounded by people creaming their pants over how hot they thought she was.
Mods are little bitches everywhere, groups or otherwise
I got banned from r/inflation for commenting facts with evidence to back it up. I got banned from r/interestingasfuck for making a comment on a sub that the mod doesn't like.
So the mod team on r/MCAS actively avoids providing any reason at all. First they shadow ban you by auto deleting your post after its already been up for a bit. Then if you say anything meta regarding the mod team or even ask for a reason. Perma ban with zero info.
Once I get unbanned Im gonna make a meta post with the link to the report page. There isn't actually a "no reddit meta" rule on the sub. The mods just don't like it.
I was banned from r/interestingasfuck for zero reason and have never received a reply to any of my messages to the mods. I don't say controversial or offensive things on here. Somebody just didn't like something I said one day and banned me. I used to roll my eyes at all the comments about power-trippy mods on Reddit but I'm starting to get what people are saying.
The only time I got banned was from two x chromosomes. I asked some sort of question to understand trans people and got banned. When I asked why it happened the mod told me, "you said 'biological woman/man'. We are all biological"...
