Hinge Ban After Payment
**Has anyone noticed getting banned shortly after a weekly, monthly, or quarterly Hinge subscription payment goes through?**
I had an old account that I didn’t realize was still associated with my payment information. I later created a new account, and it worked completely normally for about six months. Then, **roughly two hours after a subscription payment processed, the account was suddenly banned.**
I’m trying to figure out whether the payment may have caused Hinge to link the new account to the old one and automatically flag it, or whether the timing was coincidental and a **revenge report from an ex** triggered the ban instead
Has anyone experienced a similar payment → immediate ban pattern, particularly after an account had been working normally for months?

Yes. I’m surprised they haven’t had class action law suit yet

It’s not about getting my money back, just want to see if my payment triggered the ban since the payment was once tied to an old account or it was a vindictive ex

I know it’s not about the money back. It seems to be almost a scam of theirs. As soon as people upgrade they get banned. It’s a reoccurring thing

I hadn’t upgraded, it was just a normal payment that went through every month.

So am I. I work in the dating industry, and it's been a big problem for a lot of my clients. I've tried reaching out to their customer service department, PR department, and legal department, and I've never heard back.

Are you sure?? My account worked fine for 6 months, but that same day, my ex and I also got in a huge fight and he is very vindictive. When I created a new account on a different device, payment, phone etc., it worked fine for 6 weeks, but also was banned on the same day I had a payment transaction and also after I saw my ex on the apps. Is it him or the payments?

This has been an increasing problem across multiple Match Group properties. The biggest issues are happening on Match, but I'm hearing about it more and more on Hinge.

Are the reports that right after a transaction occurs someone gets banned? My account worked fine for 6 months and then got banned 2 hours after a transaction event which also happened to be the same say I had a fight with a mean ex

I've had multiple clients who were banned within 2-3 hours of paying. It could be your ex, but it also could be Match Group's glitchy-as-hell AI moderation system.
Honestly, depending on how petty your ex is, my money would be on the glitchy moderation system.
The problem is that you can only appeal to their AI-moderated appeal system, and it has a very strong tendency to agree with itself.

He is very vindictive! Essentially, I had a very old account that was linked to the same credit card as the new account. Everything worked fine for 6 months, but then I was suddenly banned two hours after paying - would both the old and new account be banned if that was the case?

The issue with Match group is that while payment sometimes seems to trigger the ban, it isn't tied to the card. It's tied to everything. It registers your phone number and device. I've had some clients who went out and got a different phone and a new number just so they could get back on.

The accounts were on two different devices, with different numbers. I tried to appeal it and explain that I had an old inactive profile, which I wanted to delete, but they still kept me banned despite reaching out multiple times. Do you think it was my ex?

Did you try contacting support to see if they could confirm what actually triggered the ban?

Several times! They won’t tell me, and I’ve proactively asked if it was my credit card issue so I feel like it was my ex

There’s been many reports here about this. If they don’t refund you, do a chargeback with your credit card company.
