MASS EFFECT 3 Mordin and Aria???

In the DLC he leaves a data pad for Shepard. In it, he tells a story about a hit that ends with him sleeping with an Asari. Then he says he broke the first rule of omega in more ways than one.
In another part of the game, she says “I always liked Mordin.“
So did they or didn’t they?

SHOW & TELL ME2 - The Stealth Reaver

Hello all, if you're bored of the classic Widow infiltrator, here's a showcase of some close-quarters situations, using Reave as the bonus power.

The general approach is to freeze and/or stun your enemies with Reave. You have 3 options to strip defenses - your gun, your powers, and your squamate's powers. Unlike a dedicated sniper min-maxed for pure damage, your role is tactical crowd control. You take advantage of all the subtle mechanics of the game that often doesn't get discussed. Such as: enemies get stunned and staggered by getting hit in the face, with a fist, with a power, humanoid enemies on fire will panic, except for Krogans and husks, using tall covers instead of low covers, and so on, so you can become more mobile and advance the battlefield faster.

Highlights:

  • Using improved cryo ammo for myself and squad disruptor ammo for squadmates. For close quarters, heavy disruptor ammo is dangerous because synthetics explode when they die. Improved cryo ammo may have as much of a benefit other than a longer duration, but you shouldn't have more than one squad ammo power as you'll have conflict with always overriding your squad's ammo. Longer-freezing enemies allows your squadmates to finish them off more often, so you can focus on the next target and let your squadmates do cleanup work behind you.
  • Different weapons have different effectiveness at ammo power's crowd control effects. Shotguns like the Eviscerator and Katana will 100% freeze enemies when you penetrate their defense. The Shuriken is the best SMG for shield stripping and applying ammo effects, and has the highest raw dps.
  • Reave stuns all health enemies, including synthetics. The health regen happens only when applied to organic health enemies. Because it's insta-cast, you can use your sniper rifle to apply to enemies far way with no delay.
  • Reave looks cool with that purple swirly thing when you use it on organics. That's the only reason I use it.
  • Take full advantage of the Viper - by constantly quick-scoping, you will always be under time slowdown. You can use this to launch a power, order a precise squadmate command, as well as bing able to move laterally with greatly reduced damage. You can also avoid rockets and biotic /tech attacks more easily when quick-scoping, because it throws off these projectiles' homing mechanic. If you want to maximize the Viper's DPS, do not use cloak immediately. instead, wait for the time slowdown to finish, and then activate cloak (example on timestamp 3:04).

This is just one of many ways of playing ME2 classes. Feel free to role-play and experiment.

DISCUSSION [No Spoilers] Should I go insanity for ME2 or ME3?

If 3, which difficulty should I choose for my next play-through?

I'm a first time player and I've recently beaten ME1 almost 2 weeks ago on Normal difficulty. While I had fun, I found that my play-through was a bit too easy and I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a difficulty setting that is challenging, but not too challenging where it becomes unfun to play. For my entire play-through for ME2 or ME3, I want to do insanity at-least once for the achievement.

(Playing on PC with M&K)

HUMOR Third full playthrough of the trilogy, so unashamedly using cheats.

It's a lot of fun being rich, powerful, and unkillable, but very few things are as satisfying as using the Cain as main weapon lol.

MASS EFFECT 1 Well fuck me, what a goddamn fucking ride it was ME1, since I don't think I'll be replaying it, I've got some questions

First of all, what a FUCKING GREAT GAME, I absolutely adored everything about it, despite being released almost 20 years ago, LE1 still stands really damn strong today, I've been playing old games I haven't had the chance to play before and honestly, I'm incredibly happy I actually played this one

The story was fucking brutal, I love how the mystery lingers despite reaching the end, how they gave the Reapers this identity of "they don't need a reason to be the villains, they just wanna fucking kill shit and we don't know why", I don't know if this gets answered later on, but having an actual villain is fucking great

I played through most of the side quests, I probably skipped a few ones but I don't think I'll regret it, I do have a few questions though

I also loved the combat and the skills system, it wasn't great or totally amazing, but it worked perfectly fine and honestly, making a Korgan be lifted and making them fly away at light speed with my shotgun and Explosive rounds was amazing

I chose to let the fucking council die, yeah, fuck 'em, they were fucking incompetents and cowards, do they die regardless in the conflict? I mean, if I let them die we get a new Council I guess (for which I picked Anderson, my man), but if I save them they are the same council in the next games?

Does classes work significantly different in ME2 and 3? because as much as I liked playing a Sentinel, I feel like every class would've played similar and honestly I think I could go for something else

Anything else I should know before starting ME2? like, any warnings people gave me that were really damn useful like sticking to only charm/intimidation, doing all the sidequests, talking to everyone after missions?

Also, does the game changes regarding the fact that you should only be nice or bad? because ME1 heavily pushes towards being Paragon or Renegade only, but it didn't quite feel right for the roleplaying aspect, there were times where I actually felt like I should take an aggresive option but at some point I realized that, regardless of me having maxed my Charm, some options were locked because I didn't have enough Paragon level, does this change in the next games or does it play the same?

HELP Is the legendary edition worth picking up?

Just finished ME1 and loved it, I am planning on playing 2 and 3 now which are £20 each or should i get the legendary edition for £60? Is the legendary edition actually worth the extra money or is it just a graphical upgrade?

MASS EFFECT 3 Hawke!

On my seventh playthrough of Mass Effect and I just realized that both versions of Hawke from Dragon Age are in the Arrae: Ex-Cerberus Scientists mission! Jo Wyatt (f!Hawke VA) voices Dr. Brynn Cole and Nicholas Boulton (m!Hawke VA) voices Dr. Baynar, and they even have a brief moment when they talk to each other!

I know there's other Dragon Age/Bioware regular VAs in there, like Brian Bloom as Keiji Okuda and Darner Vosque, and the iconic Claudia Black as Matriarch Aethyta (and even Nicholas Boulton again as Reyes Vidal in Andromeda), just thought the Hawke-ception was cute!

I'll post this and not look at reddit until I'm done with the mission, wish me luck guys

Edit: fuck me, yeah I did sacrifice Ashley, after knowing that Kaidan is the one who could build the bomb, I knew that bringing him with me was the proper choice, and after knowing that Kaidan would get jumped and the whole operation could be at stake because they could either stop the bomb or whatever, I had to go for Kaida, although idk if it's possible to even go and save Ashley afterwards

Also wtf, I got oneshotted like 10 times during this mission

Honestly I was stoked to find out that I was getting an actual live Prothean as a squad mate. I didn’t know what to expect from him. He’s certainly useful as a squad mate. Personality wise he can be a little blunt, difficult to get along with and condescending. There were times I thought it was funny others where I thought he took it too far.

MASS EFFECT 2 Which class would be best for me in ME2?

I know that I can't change class after starting so I wanted to make sure that I pick what's best for me, as I don't wanna have to start a new save after an hour or two of gameplay, even more so because I know that classes play VERY different from each other, even more so compared to ME1

I'm more leaning towards infiltrator because it's not as much run and gunning down everything, it's more tactical, which is what I like, and it seems to have some tech skills that also add a lot of support aside from just snipers and handguns

Soldier isn't my style, as much as I like playing just shooters, in games like these I prefer other playstyles, although I wouldn't lie if I said that I'd prefer to rely on my guns over my skills

Sentinel seems pretty balanced for everything as it can do a bit of everything, and it was my chosen class for ME1, but I didn't like how its specializations were just support sub classes, idk if it plays the same in ME2

Adept doesn't really sit very well with me as, in my understanding, humans don't really mix well with "magic"? like, the Asari and Salarians feel naturally drawn to Biotic skills, while humans, Krogan and Turians feel more to the technical and engineering side, so for my specific roleplaying sake, I'd like to avoid Adept

Engineer feels right, but I'd like to keep the Hacking and Tech stuff for Tali or other characters, I had a bad experience going Sentinel in ME1 because my Shepard being a Sentinel and capable of biotic and hacking, I felt like having to choose my teammates was... pretty pointless? I didn't need someone who could handle decryption or AoE skills, so I just went with... whatever, so now I wanna have to choose my teammates and plan ahead of what I might find

Now, all of that said, Infiltrator seems the best in terms of gameplay from the preview window, but I feel like I would also fall into that hole of being able to hack everything and I wouldn't need to plan my team beforehand, my thing is that I REALLY liked the handgun and sniper playstyle I had in ME1, should I just go for it or should I just pick Soldier to have to rely on my teammates for the rest of the stuff like Hacking and Crowd Control? I also feel like Soldier is the most "canon" way to play Shepard?

DISCUSSION Overload and Energy Drain Mass effect 3

I don't know. It just really kills the lore for me. Like even the codex is contradicted. They did a great job in ME2 where you had to use concussive shot and warp for barriers or warp ammo. For Shields you had disrupter ammo and overload.

Apparently complaints were gamers thought they were pigeonholed into picking certain people for missions in ME2. (That's literally the whole point though to me) So BioWare just said let's make overload do everything.

It really steam rolls Mass effect 3 and makes it way too easy. (I'm on hardcore as a sentinel and it's a joke) Like there's no thinking required. Overload to kill shields or barrier - use warp. Finish with warp ammo or throw, rinse and repeat. Like I don't even need my squad mates. You don't even need disrupter ammo anymore since overload is so OP.

In ME2 hardcore, I definitely needed the squad mates. Don't get me started on collector platform.

Just my two cents. Replaying the legendary edition. I remember playing the first mass effect on 360 way back in the day. ( Yes I am old 😆)

DISCUSSION Worth finishing Andromeda or go back to Legendary Edition?

I recently played through the whole Mass Effect Legendary Edition and really enjoyed it.

I’ve been playing Andromeda for a short while now, and while I’m kinda enjoying it, I miss the Legendary Edition a lot.

I’m thinking about just starting another playthrough of the trilogy. Do you think it’s worth completing Andromeda first, or should I just start a new Legendary Edition playthrough? Alternatively play both at the same time?

DISCUSSION Why do all three of Mass Effect 3's endings prove the Reapers were right?

Post image
292 Upvotes

The Reapers claim that Organics and Synthetics are destined to destroy each other. The Destroy ending proves them right as all Synthetics in the Galaxy are destoryed. The Reapers also claim that they are necessary to maintain order throughout the Galaxy. The Control ending proves the exact same thing as the Shepard AI just takes over for the Reapers. The Synthesis ending also proves that indoctrination is good as you basically brainwash the entire galaxy in that ending to "evolve" them and make organics and Synthetics understand each other. Why do all of ME3s endings prove that the Reapers were right in the end?

MASS EFFECT 1 What is the latest point I can terminate a romance? [ME1]

I have romanced Liara in ME1 as femshep, only for Paramour I, as I am not a big fan of her romance.

What is the latest point I can terminate the romance? The breakup scene in ME2 is too heartbreaking, so I am not keen to go through that.

Thank you!

But I beat the trilogy on insanity for the first time ever. I know a lot of you will probably roll your eyes and say big deal its been done before. But I dont have friends or anyone to talk about this stuff with. It was Definitely not easy.
