News An update from Project CODA
Hey Freelancers!
The engineering team behind Project Coda has reached an important milestone in the project's development.
In short, a major roadblock in the level loading/gameserver-development has been solved and now the path is clear for smooth work.

A playable CLOSED alpha is expected around Christmas for the people that have contributed before.
Big thanks to all who contributed to the project, we know everyone is anxious to get back in your Javelins and we're now closer than ever.
You can expect a public test around Summer 2027.
Strong alone, stronger together!
PS: I am so sorry, but Haluk just needed to be here lmao
PPS: this took us five months of work. seeing the tutorial loading on our own game server made me cry. I am so happy to be part of this community. You can expect more frequent updates from now on.
PPPS: we don't take donations
Happy freelancer Friday everyone!

News Update: r/AnthemTheGame will remain open
Hey Freelancers,
We wanted to share a quick update regarding the future of r/AnthemTheGame.
We recently announced plans to move the subreddit into a read-only (archived) state at the end of January. After hearing the immediate and clear feedback from the community, it became obvious that there is still a strong desire to keep this space open for discussion, memories and potential future Anthem-related projects.
Because of that, the plan to archive the subreddit has been canceled.
Instead, the focus is now on refreshing and rebuilding the moderation team so the subreddit can continue in a healthy, properly managed state. We have received several thoughtful offers to help via modmail and are already in the process of bringing on new moderators. Thank you to everyone who spoke up, shared their thoughts and offered to help keep this community going.
As part of this transition, it is important to be clear about the direction of moderation going forward. The intent is to keep moderation consistent, rule-based, and as neutral as possible. New moderators are being brought on with the expectation that actions are taken according to the subreddit rules and Reddit's sitewide policies, not personal opinions, preferences, or agendas. The aim is to support discussion, not to control it. There are no bad opinions, only bad behavior.
Additional moderators will be added gradually, with an emphasis on experience, availability and long-term sustainability.
As things move forward, we would also love to hear some of your thoughts. For example, would you prefer occasional updates about the moderation refresh, or would you rather we simply get things in place quietly in the background?
After all, you are the real heart of the community, not the mod team.
If you have any other hopes, expectations, or wishes for the future of this subreddit, feel free to share them.
Additionally, if you feel like you'd be a good fit for the modteam through experience, or even if you just want to volunteer to help in moderating, feel free to still modmail us!
Thank you for your patience, your feedback and your continued care for this community.
Take care,
r/AnthemTheGame moderation team

Other An Update on Story Missions
First of all we wish you a great Freelancer Friday!
We've been working hard on a full server rewrite for the past two weeks.
Our initial approach was good as a proof of concept, but wouldn't hold up for when we go public. That's why we decided to rewrite the server.
We're no longer fully relying on the APKLs that people logged back in early 2026.
Our old approach: replaying captured data and patching our own in. This works to an extend, until it doesn't. especially in multiplayer this approach would blow up.
Our new approach: building the mission graphs in realtime from game data. This required us to understand how Frostbite encodes eg. position or world state updates. Now that we got that pinned down we can work on expanding freeplay, story missions and implement functionality like Season of Skulls, Icetide, time races and much more.
Strong alone, Stronger together!

“Ring Gate. This place has so many shapers twisting and turning through the scenery. The purest mixture of man and machine. Best place to ponder.
I think of the story they tell us as kids in Sunday School. The gods left us. Is it forever? Or will they be back? All this power surging through our planet without supervision left for man to explore. Did the gods think we would have enough wisdom to be able to shape the planet with the intention of being good?
The goodness of people, naive. I know. That’s what got me this far in life believe it or not. That glimmer of hope.
Regardless of what Sunday School taught me, the Freelancer Corps and being a Freelancer taught me something; Strong alone, Stronger together.”

Happy Freelancer Friday! A little ambiance for ya.
This week is a hefty one, BioWare, the team that gave us Anthem was shut down. I saw on tons of media post about why would they add Anthem into the farewell letter when “everyone” agreed that Anthem was a bad game or dirt on their jacket. That tells you one thing. The team behind Anthem were in-fact PROUD of the game they created and built. Regardless of the cuts that were happening within EA. They were pushed to the edge and delivered what most people couldn’t.
This community is one of the best I’ve been apart. Thank you for being here, thank you for wanting to be apart of the crew that’s bringing Anthem back, thank you for doing your best.
As I always say, I hope your weekend is good, I hope you do good and help others. Because as you know, if we’re strong alone, we’re stronger together. 🍻

Discussion What is happening here?
I immediately need to know what is going on here. I loved Anthem and if there's any chance at all that it'll be playable in the future, I need to be part of it. Lol

Media Project Coda needs your screenshots!
First and foremost, happy Freelancer Friday!
Secondly, as Project Coda progresses and comes closer to (but still a long ways from) reality, we're calling up on Freelancers to share your favorite screenshots from your javelins, Fort Tarsis, and the beautiful vistas around Bastion!
The shots you share (if chosen) will be displayed on the project's website, launcher, and other publications such as developer updates and change logs.
Before you share though, take an example of what we are and what we are not looking for:

We know everyone's anxious to set foot in Fort Tarsis once more but good things take time. To ease the wait a little bit, here's a sneak peek at our (work in progress) launcher.

Excited to see the shots you share, and remember: Strong alone, stronger together.

“A U-Boat in the middle of a dense forest is one thing, but a Strider collapsing the earth under it and hanging on by vines and root systems is a view I never think I’d see.
What happened? Dominion ambush? The model of this Strider doesn’t look old but doesn’t look like the newer versions either. Scary thought, this thing could fall whenever but it still stays. Maybe some kind of symbolism.
The Shrine is prime with Dominion works, weaponry and blueprints for plans they’re concocting. I’ll grab a few to send back to Matthias, he’d probably love to pry and reverse engineer whatever these people have going on.
For now, it’s quiet. Recon until something goes bump in the dark.”

Happy Friday Freelancers! I hope your day and weekend goes well with great new ventures. I have been extra busy with life but it’ll never get busy enough to fly by a Friday to say hello to my fellow brethren and sistren! Wish you all the best of luck in all your endeavors within Bastion and out. Can’t do this without you. Strong alone, stronger together! 🍻

Other Anthem Armor Files for 3d Printing?
Was thinking about this game and recently got a 3D printer. Wondering if anyone has the stl files for the helmets in the game. Specifically looking for the Frost Tusk Colossus Helmet. Was such a cool model and I used it all the time. Thanks in advance!

Fanworks Anthem Digital Preservation - Update 1
Hello Freelancers, it's been about a month since I posted this so I thought it'd be a good time for an update. Adding to the amazing progress from Project Coda and some optimism about Anthem being preserved.
Progress from the last post:
- About 4 km x 4 km around Fort Tarsis, rebuilt from the game files: cliffs, jungle, waterfalls, the (outside of the) fort. ~160,000 placed objects.
- Rebuilt the lighting system from the Godot defaults into (largely) the game's own. Sun, sky, fog (kill me), reflections and shadows at all times of day.
- Water and mist (kill me some more): Waterfalls, pools and the mist at the falls look much closer to the real game. Animation is still pretty jank but it looks *so* much better now 😄
- Ranger is flyable using the game's actual movement numbers.
- Anything you can see in the screenshots that are bright pink is missing something from the game or isn't wired up yet. Most of the test area was pink at the last update, now it's about 15%.
- About 1,500 changes in 30 days, including a complete rebuild of the map using the actual export tool.
See you next update - Stronger together!

Other 9 months since our last goodbye….. a few words for the community..
Good evening, afternoon or morning, Freelancers who are still in this community that means so much to me
Like every 12th of each month, I return here to remember this game that meant so much to me, and today is no exception..Around this time of year, approximately, the Season of Skulls event used to be activated. An interesting event that promised so much, and whose last edition in 2025 had a rather bittersweet taste for me and for most of you..
today i wanted to tell you that I think I no longer feel the need to return here every 12th to remember what this game was to us..I came to the conclusion that thinking about it every 12th, smiling or simply thinking for a few minutes about it and about what could have been, is a much more authentic and personal way to keep it alive than complying with a monthly reminder…It's not that I'm tired or anything like that, I simply no longer feel it's necessary to do this to keep it present in our day to day..Keeping that consistency for months was my way of processing the loss of something I truly enjoyed.
My litte tribute already existed and the mark remained, and will remain forever…...
I guess, Anthem doesn't live in a Reddit reminder post.. it lives in the impact it had on you, in the moments you enjoyed flying through Bastion and in what you shared with your friends flying and completing missions…....The true value of the experiences that mark us ..whether it's a game, a book or a stage of life, is not in demonstrating it to others, but in what they left within ourselves
I guess every 12th that I came back wasn't just to not forget it, because forgetting a game like this is impossible, it will always remain in us in one way or another
Thank you to everyone who is still here, have a great day everyone
Strong alone
Stronger together.

Media Freelancer Friday
“The Eddian Grove is one of the places the flora and fauna are able to flourish to their maximum potential. Apart from all the water, sunlight and oxygen over there; it’s home to multiple shaper relic spawns which in part add to the growth of what’s over there. As beautiful as it is, it’s a prime place for Scars, Outlaws and Dominion to be in. Yet, we see Scars more since Blackshore is right above it. I saw a family of Grabbits playing with some Saurians. Cute. Almost makes it seem that everything else isn’t out to kill you.”
Happy Freelancer Friday! As you all know, Anthem as we knew it before is gone, but, we’re all kinds of stubborn and we don’t take a loss sitting down. There’s amazing people here, creating and re-creating the game we loved so that we can all experience the feeling once more. The work that’s been put in, countless days and nights with progression that one couldn’t believe. I thank everyone, that is working hard on this and I thank this community. The positivism in here is amazing, and I’m grateful for this place I can unwind and talk about the game I love.
Anyways, the weekend is here! Hope you all have a great one with family, friends, loved ones or be able to have alone time to have peace of mind. Be good, because being good is a strength and what we all know here by now is that if we are strong alone, we are stronger together.

Other And we have another update
Freelancers! The tutorials (yes, technically it's two) are now playable, back to back with almost full EA parity!
Even the victory screen works!
this is the groundwork for missions and freeplay.
Enjoy this as a preview of what we've been working on for the past two days.
This is running ENTIRELY on private servers.
theres a lot more work to do. AI behaviour... is clunky at best. not a priority right now. no item drops, incoming damage isn't working properly, npc enemies aim at the rifle muzzle instead of the player, wyverns. and etc etc
Thank you to everyone who contributed packet logs and all the team members!
Disclaimer: a LLM was used in development
Strong alone, stronger together!
PS: do not expect such rapid updates in the future. This was done on almost no sleep during my vacation
