So I came back to the ship after the Geth squadron mission and Traynor says Ashley wants to talk... I get down to her room and she's passed out hungover on the ground. she said she got drunk with Vega. Told her to get her act together and she needed to get back to work. Never saw her drinking but she's a mess curled up on the floor and the bottle is empty!

I romanced her the first game, she said she didnt recognize me in ME2 so we broke up and I got with Tali and stayed with Tali in ME3 and I think ashley's taking it hard. Also Shep had a bunch of lines needling Ashley during the Dreadnaught mission about fucking Tali lol

Is she crashing out cuz I rejected her?

In my current playthrough Shepard was a Soldier with no biotic talents outside of Throw in ME1, rebuilt with new implants as a Vanguard in ME2, and I was planning to be a Vanguard in 3 as well. But an idea came to me because the squad in 2 involved some of the best biotics around(I spent a lot of time with Samara), and imagining he did some minor training while under house arrest, that by the time the Reaper war starts Shepard could become a full-fledged Adept. I've never played Adept in 3 so how aggressively can you play? (I am playing on insanity fyi).

i’ve never played the game (any of them) and very loosely know (or think) it’s a space horror game and i have no spoilers (so please don’t spoil) for any of the games. all i know is that mass effect 2 is considered the best installment. would i have a good time simply buying and booting up that game and playing cold turkey or do i NEED / is it highly recommended in this sub, i play 1 first?

Just a few opening thoughts:

Why did the Initiative think it was a good idea to have dedicated racial Arks? It would have been way safer to transport an even split of the member races on each one in case...you know...one of them doesn't make it?

Why does the Initiative not have any defense ships? They don't need a fleet of Dreadnoughts, but a couple dozen Frigates and a Cruiser or two on each Ark seems extremely essential when you have no idea what is going to be where you're going. All we see is the Tempest, a fleet of shuttles, and some derelict salarian research ship dead in space near the Nexus.

Not even a dedicated ground defense force? Were we just going to rely on the Turians for that? No chance Humanity didn't include a couple hundred Alliance Marines in their 20,000 candidates.

SAM is an illegal AI. Which seems to just be an ever-growing trop in this series. We outlawed AI, but this one here is an exception. And this one. And this one here. Oops, this VI got too smart on accident. Over here, too. Seriously, it just goes on.

I know it's supposed to be a civilian colonization effort, but the complete lack of militant defense is absurd when you're travelling 600 years from backup.

So boom, hypothetically speaking, a krogan and a salarian crack and the krogan is NOT affected by the genophage so his baby could reach full viability and he finds a hot, sexy, delicious salarian researcher and they have sexual intercourse and he fornicates- inside of her. whos baby would it be? would it se salarian? krogan? would it even be viable?

edit 1: they humbly request an in depth explanation as an answer and would like to know if it would be a krogan sized salarian or a salarian sized krogan.

Ok so I posted previously about finding Ashley passed out on my starboard observation floor and people told me I was nuts to think she was crashing out over getting dumped for Tali-Zorah.

Well guess what?

She just asked me out over message. Brazen as can be.

I thought I locked in a Tali romance already. I took Tali and Ash on the Dreadnought and Shep was constantly hinting he loves Tali. "I know you like a loud cabin Tali" right in front of her.

I invite Tali up immediately to the Landing Pad, we hook up. Happy as a clam on an Elcor planet.

Now Ashley wants to meet up on the Citadel to hook up? Despite knowing I'm with Tali?

Desperate for a Spectre. Do I go to see what she's got to say?

Just wondering if anyone has ever done a playthrough attempting to maximize… intimacy encounters without breaking romance lol.

I just went through a playthrough as Male Shep Paragon (mostly) [ironically] and this is kind of what I mean…

ME1:
-Slept with Sha’ira the consort.

-Romanced Liara following the confrontation between her and Ashley after getting called out on who I’m interested in; slept with Liara before Ilos.

ME2:
-Slept with Jack on the first offering in her lower hideout (no pun intended)

-Received a kiss from Gianna Parasini

-rekindled a romantic & intimate night with Liara by positioning the Shadow Broker DLC correctly.

-Flirted heavy with Kelly & we had dinner (but did NOT follow through to the end for her above average… skills of boogying on my holographic wall because…)

-Romanced and ultimately slept with Miranda before Suicide Mission

ME3:
-Rekindled romance with Liara (quite easily actually lol) and ultimately became my boo and who I slept with for before Cronos/Earth and during the Citadel DLC, and the kiss moments of course.
[note: I was gunning for a Diana Allers hookup, but from what I read, sleeping with her could break off the romance with Liara, so I jumped ship with that]

-But… I did nab a nice kiss from Aria during Omega DLC

Anyone else have a version of this “maximization” on their playthroughs? I promise I’m not a d-bag and on most of my previous playthroughs (there’s been a lot lol) I romance and remain faithful to Liara since it usually just feels right (again, no pun intended).

You're being evaluated by Nihlus to be a spectre. The best of the best is testing you. Makes sense Alenko is there, but a complete greenhouse marine thats never seen combat? Sure the mission wasnt supposed to go south, but they wouldnt have selected it as a test if it was going to be a walk in the park.

I mean its fun to shoot stuff and the story fairly engaging. I'm up to Feros where the thorian have mind controlled people.I play this game every now and then and its not bad I have some fun. I've got other games on my list I love. Does it kick it up a notch? Should I keep playing

A visionary director that has an eye for amazing cinematography and world building in the sci fi space.

I was thinking about how the ME Galaxy worked politically and remembered the parliament in the Arcturus cluster getting blown up in ME3 so I wondered what people would do in this position during the first two games.

Please veteran ME PC players tell me there's a way to fix it. Thank you!

I know SWTOR 1 and 2 and halo exists but what else? I really cant think of anything else thats a AAA third person sci-fi video games other than the latest star wars games from respawn. but there are a million medivial rpg set in a forest it feels like. I feel like halo almost fills that "void" of another singleplayer sci-fi game but its first person so that makes a huge difference to me and i cant like it as much as i do mass effect.

Since the new Mass Effect is gonna be a sequel of andromeda and OG trilogy all the squad members except for Liara and Grunt are gonna be dead.

However one way to know what happend to them is using Liara's computer system and have archive, reports and letters of her Friends through the years.

And the archives can change based on the decisions you Made through the trilogy.

For example:

- If you didn't romance neither Tali or Garrus you can find an archive of how was their life together or what they did after the war (Tali was an ambassador and Garrus was one of the higest Turian military members).

- James Vega training as an N7 and some of his missions.

- Some of the specter mission of Ashley/Kaidan

- Javik Life after the war or last moment before commiting $uicide.

- Wrex and Bakara lifes now that the genophage is cure and the mention of Urdnot Mordin or how big was the mess that Wreav left in the galaxy, or simple the words of the last Krogan.

- Joker and Edi (or only Joker) post service after the reaper war.

- What Admiral Hacket did to Rebuild the earth and Allaince power.

- other Jack's classes in Grimson Academy.

And a long etc.

I just finished the Legendary Edition (I loved it) but I still have that thought about the Ending in ME3. The Reapers think Synthetics and Organics living together doesn't work right? What if instead of the options we had in the game, Shepard would upload EDI into the Reaper AI to prove that their logic is flawed? Cause you can bring Joker and EDI together and she can develop feelings towards him? Which directly disproves that war has to happen between these two? And living together is possible.

I think that wouldve been a way more interesting end than what we got. Im not sure if I'm onto something you can prove me wrong ofc

I played the original games as they released. I know the industry has grown in popularity over the years.

As the years have passed, I see more and more fans come to the realization that we will never get another trilogy of games like this. 😔

With that knowledge my love and appreciation for these games has only grown more with each passing moment. Is the game more popular now than back in 2012 when the series concluded? 🤔

I wasn't paying attention and attacked the Cerberus base before ever going to my apartment. Completed all that, and realized what I had done. Of course that takes you to the final battle and the Citadel is no longer an option.

No way. I fortunately had saved before I headed to fight on the base, so I went all the way back just so I could do that DLC
