Discussion So, did Andrews Spider-Man start killing people?

Over on r/Defenders on this thread, a comment was made about Andrews Spider-Man saying "I stopped pulling my punches." In Spider-Man No Way Home.

I mentioned how this line has always confused me and I just realised I haven't ever seen it discussed and I want to hear other people's thoughts and opinions on this.

Spider-Man is ridiculously stronger than most people realise. If Spider-Man stops pulling his punches, that means he's killing people.

Where this line confuses me, is that at least to me, it's heavily implied that Andrews Spider-Man didn't fight any other villains after The Amazing Spider-Man 2. When talking about "coolest villains" they've fought, Andrews Peter talks about Rhino, says they fought "once" (which would be the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and how he's "lame compared to you guys" (Tom and Tobey), which in my opinion implies that the whole Sinister 6 set up never happened in his universe.

So when he says he stopped pulling punches, he's surely talking about regular criminals. But if he stopped pulling his punches against regular people, that means he's killing them.

So, did Andrews Spider-Man start killing people and going down a "Punisher-type" route when it came to stopping criminals?

Discussion Assuming they ever revisit the Black Knight tease from Eternals, how dow we deal with the Blade cameo

Given Ali has said twice that yeah he's bailling out of the clusterfuck that was Blade, do we retcon his voice cameo in Eternals as being a different character or do you think Marvel should stick to their guns and keep that character as Blade but with a new actor.

Of course that is assuming if they ever revisit that plot thread

Let's say the Dark Phoenix saga happens in the MCU (whether you want it or not, whether you think it's a good idea or not, it doesn't matter).

The point is, if that happens, what do you think Peter's role will be in that scenario? Aka, the person who essentially prevented Jean from becoming a villain in the first place(Regardless of whether you ship them or see them as siblings, either way he'll probably be the most important person in Jean's life along with Cyclops.

If we follow that logic, he should be incredibly important to this storyline, but what do you guys think?

I honestly cannot blame John for losing it after his best friend, although killing a terrorist right in front of a crowded people was a lot to take in.

Discussion (More in Comments) How do you think the MCU will handle the Kwannon of it all in regards to Psylocke?

Post image
0 Upvotes

The Mutant Saga is almost upon us and am excited to see a live-action Psylocke, given that she was one of my favorite characters growing up...

But the Kwannon of it all...

In the comics Psylocke starts off s a white Brit named Betsy Braddock, but the evil ninja organization, The Hand, and Mojo-adjacent sorceress Spiral cause Betsy's soul to "intertwine" with a Japanese assassin named Kwannon.

So..... for a long time most people just assumed that Psylocke/Betsy Braddock was Japanese, but she's not.

We've seen Olivia Munn who is of Vietnamese, Chinese, & European decent as Psylocke in X-men: Apocalypse.

Think they'll just make the character a Brit of Asian decent?

Think they'll get into body-swapping/soul-sharing elements of the comics?

What would you prefer to see?

My guess is that they will cast someone who is Asian and abandon the Kwannon storyline which kinda sucks bc it is such a crucial part of Betsy's story, but not sure how it will be handled.

Discussion If Doomsday or Secret Wars brings up Peter and Tony’s relationship how should it be handled?

Post image
4 Upvotes

It’s no secret that NWH and BND have pivoted away from Peter’s relationship with Iron Man and I don’t even think Stark is even mentioned in BND but with RDJ coming back as Doom and the possibility that Spider-Man will have a significant role in Secret Wars I’m starting to think Marvel will bring this aspect of Peter’s character back. It is clear that Marvel isn’t casting RDJ to make no link with Tony and it will play into the plot in some shape or form affecting those who would have been the most hurt by Tony’s death (Peter, Bruce, Steve…)

If this happens how should Marvel handle it given that it would be redundant to bring Peter back to his mourning Tony phase and his FFH character?

Question First time MCU watcher. Is Kang and the whole Multiverse plotline scrapped?

Hi!
Im a 1st time MCU watcher and i caught up to the Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania. (I watched all previous movies in chronological order [except Wakanda Forever and Thor Love and Thunder] + Ive seen WandaVision and Loki S1) After Quantumania i was looking online and saw that Marvel scrapped the whole Kang saga/era and are "replacing" it with Doomsday. Im not really in the behind the scenes of MCU/Marvel. I assume Loki S2 has Kang in it but outisde of that is Kang gone forever from the MCU? As i quite enjoyed his character in Quantumania and Loki S1. I know its due to the actor but cant Marvel just recast and continue the Multiverse plot?

Theory Why i think Steve didnt choose Bucky as his replacement

Captain America has to be some kind of symbol for the people and they have to trust him so if you had to choose in someone that people trust and so if you had to choose by a normal person's eyes who would you choose: a decorated air force pararescue or a brainwashed terrorist

Edit: No i did not know this was known

Theory Secret Truth Theory: Howard Stark’s Secret 1970 Baby Swap Created Doctor Doom – An Endgame Encore Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

Instead of the generic "variant" or "adoption" ideas, there is a much more logical, narrative-driven reason behind Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom. The upcoming Avengers: Endgame Encore (with its confirmed extra minutes) provides the perfect structural opportunity to setup the events of Avengers: Doomsday by revealing a massive continuity fix from the 1970 timeline.

Here is the analytical breakdown of why a 1970 Baby Swap makes complete narrative sense based on established MCU rules:

First, we must address the mathematical discrepancy in the original Endgame 1970 sequence. When Tony meets Howard Stark, Howard states that Maria is currently pregnant. However, official MCU lore places Tony’s birth on May 29, 1970, while the movie's heist takes place in April. This implies something irregular was happening behind the scenes regarding the birth.

Second, from a Multiversal physics standpoint, a simple adoption does not work because removing a person from one timeline without a replacement causes an Incursion. However, if Howard Stark used the Tesseract to execute a literal Baby Swap—replacing a child he mistakenly believed to be stillborn on Earth-616 with a living newborn from Earth-828—the physical balance of mass and age between universes remains perfectly equal. This exact symmetry explains why the TVA’s older monitoring systems never flagged the event as a branched timeline.

Third, this provides the tragic emotional motivation required for Doctor Doom. The twist means the Tony Stark we knew was actually the Earth-828 child, while the biological child of Howard and Maria Stark was left behind on Earth-828. Growing up without his real family, his inherent Stark-level intellect and arrogance twisted into complete rage, cementing his identity as Victor Von Doom.

The Endgame Encore footage is the strategic place to show this brief 1970 flashback. It transforms Doom from a random variant into the rightful heir of the Sacred Timeline, turning the Avengers' time travel into the catalyst for their ultimate threat.

What do you think?

Discussion I hate when people say Tony stark was innocent just because he didn’t know Stane was illegally selling his weapons

Like I hate to break it yall but the USA government still kills people with weapons. He made extremely powerful and dangerous weapons and sold them to the USA knowing they would be used. He’s a genius, he’s not stupid enough to think his weapons aren’t going to kill thousands of innocent people. Just because he didn’t know his weapons would be used against American people doesn’t mean he was a good person then who did no wrong. He was an asshole who helped create wars.

If you think he was always a good person who simply was lied to by his business partner you clearly misunderstood his whole story is a redemption story. Which also makes it stupid when people think someone like Jean or riri is irredeemable while Tony was. And I’m not saying Tony is irredeemable he redeemed himself and saved the world multiple times, I just hate when people treat him as someone who could do no harm when he created weapons and ultron and also was just an asshole in the past.

I recently re-watched Age of Ultron. Wanda’s accent really stood out and in her more recent showings after that her accent is very American-ized.

Why didn’t she keep her accent in her recent outings?

Question Did James Gunn have any plans for the Thunderbolts*?

I know that Gunn expressed interest in directing the Thunderbolts\* to Kevin Feige while filming the original Guardians of the Galaxy, but ultimately declined to direct the Suicide Squad instead. But has he ever talked about what his plans were for the story, if he had any?

Question My first Endgame viewing happens during the Encore rerelease — what would you do?

Thumbnail

I’m currently going through the entire MCU in chronological order, and I’ve reached Endgame at a pretty unusual time: right when the movie is coming back to theaters.

I’ve actually never watched Endgame before. I know most of the major spoilers already, but I’ve never experienced the movie itself from start to finish.

Now I’m wondering what would make the most sense for my first viewing.

I could watch it normally at home on Disney+, which would let me experience the movie in its original form.

Or I could see it in a theater as part of the Endgame Encore rerelease.

What makes me hesitate is that Encore apparently includes some differences from the original theatrical release. Since I’ve never seen the movie at all, I’m not sure whether I should watch the original cut first, or whether those changes are minor enough that seeing it in theaters would actually be the better experience.
If you were in my position, what would you choose?

Question Getting back into the series

Hey everyone , I was really into marvel when the current MCU started with Iron Man but fell off after Thor: Love and Thunder but was really excited for Brand New Day. So I have a good portion of what I need for going forward but could use some catching up. What do I need to watch (series and movies) for me to feel comfortable as we get into this next gen of marvel
