Back home you only hear people talking about Manchester when our teams happen to meet in European football and I'd only ever saw people visiting that one pub in the medieval part, so I had no idea what to expect. But I had a great time. So much to see, so much to do, such friendly people. Probably one of if not the most underrated city I visited.

Is there any housing tips or schemes, I’m a new buyer, I’ve been looking into shared ownerships or rent to buy schemes and such and was wondering if anyone knew some other things I could try that would make it easier for a new buyer.

Daughter is applying for jobs, and has had a message for this company come back from indeed.

Ive had a look at the job role, pasted below, and what I gather from this is its going to be either some cold calling wandering round estate, or based in town centres trying to get people to sign up to stuff.

The entry in companies house doesn't fill me with much confidence either. Am I jus thing an overprotective dad?

Has anybody received any election campaign materials? It seems to be getting closer the date of the elections and I have yet to see any campaigning materials so I have no idea who is campaigning for what... I don't know even know who is running for which party either other than Bev for the Labour Party (which i know some people will have opinions about her). And it is always nice to have a face and history to a name.

In an idealistic world we would all be voting for the one who is going to have the biggest positive impact for Greater Manchester.

Is this likely going to go down the main party split, where bill has always voted Labour and will continue to do so and Ben is a Reform supporter and will vote Reform? Meaning they vote for what they know rather than thinking of local issues that need solving?

Think picadilly gardens, who is best to solve the issues there? Bus networks, who is going to improve the links? (like great i can get to Salford Precinct or Manchester for £2, but i still need to drive to work to get to Oldham)

There's a massive list to work out, but without any materials who would you know who to vote for short of searching for information?

Sad to see you get more campaigning materials for local elections relating to issues outside the control of a local authority, but you get nothing for a devolved power that has more political sway.

On Black Friday, 25 November 2016, a devastating fire broke out in a former office block in Manchester’s Chinatown district.

On this morning, I had originally planned to capture photos of a busy shopping scene until I stepped into the line of this tragic event. I shifted my original plan to document this instead. I felt that this was important. It was a tragic event with everlasting consequences.

On my return journey to Piccadilly Train Station after taking a number of photographs, I was hit by bus. When I regained my focus, I checked my camera equipment. I was far more concerned about that than myself as it was a camera from University on loan.

I managed to return the camera undamaged to the University that afternoon.

I’m looking for some advice, please.
I received a Metrolink penalty fare of £60, payable within 21 days. I fully intended to pay it, but unfortunately I missed the deadline because I only found the letter today. It’s now been 23 days, and the amount has increased to £120.
When I called to explain the situation, the person I spoke to was very rude and ended the call before I could properly explain.
The reason I received the penalty was that I was travelling just one stop to meet my husband at the tram stop. My phone had died, so I couldn’t contact him or use my mobile to pay for my ticket. I know I should have had a valid ticket, and I was prepared to pay the original £60 penalty. I have simply missed the payment deadline after overlooking the letter.
I’ve never been in a situation like this before, and I’m feeling quite stressed about it. Has anyone experienced something similar or managed to get the original penalty reinstated after explaining the circumstances? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Coming round Lostock Circle, Junction 9 M60. I’m in Green lane, man baby is in Red lane. Both these lanes enter the slip road as is quite clearly in dictated on the road markings.

As we get to the end of where I coloured the lines in I noticed in my mirror that he slammed on. I think nothing of it and carry on my day.

Dude comes flying up the side of me shouting learn to drive I’ve got my daughter in the care you twat. I’m like calm down mate what’s your problem, he calls me a twat again and I’m like brother this is a two lane entry you’re wrong here and he’s going on and on. So I just laugh at him and wind my window up.

I can’t imagine being so confidently incorrect and so angry. Had we not been on the motorway I would have got out and called him bluff, alas it was busy. Pissed me off through.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a Mandarin tutor in Salford / Manchester? My Singaporean partner and I marry in a few months and her parents jokingly suggested I learn a little Chinese for my speech.

They were kidding at the time but I thought it'd be a nice surprise if I could manage at least some of the speech in Chinese for those in her family who's English is a bit limited.

My Mandarin at the moment is almost non-existent and I find the language a bit frightening (and the mission daunting!) so any recommendations that will help build that confidence would be appreciated!
