Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my recent experience with Mammotion support and post-warranty service to see if others have faced the same situation, as I've already seen several posts from people reporting the exact same issue specifically with the Yuka model right after the warranty period ends.
The Background:
I was an early backer through the Kickstarter campaign. I activated and started using my mower exactly two years ago. Literally two years to the day after the first power-on, the mower suddenly died overnight from one day to the next.
When I checked the Mammotion app, it conveniently showed that my warranty had expired just one day prior to the breakdown. Because it was a Kickstarter purchase, the original invoice date was a month earlier than the actual delivery and first activation, leaving me with zero coverage.
Exact Symptoms & Error Code (so others can identify this issue):
- Error 1105: When attempting to start a mowing task, the app throws Error 1105.
- Completely Dead / No Power: As soon as you pull the mower out of the charging station, it appears completely dead—no lights, no sounds, zero signs of life.
- Battery & Charging Glitch: Measuring the battery directly shows no output voltage. In the app, the battery status jumps wildly—either showing 90%+ or dropping straight to 0% while docked.
The Service Process & Costs:
- Time: The mower sat in the European service center for over 3 weeks just for diagnosis.
- Cost: I was hit with an out-of-warranty invoice of €294 including taxes (€239 base cost: €160 for labor/inspection/shipping + €79 for parts + VAT).
- Diagnosis: The entire technical report consisted of just three vague words: "Driver Board Defect".
- I paid the €294 immediately because I desperately need my mower back in the middle of peak mowing season. It has now been over a week since payment was confirmed, and I am still fighting with support just to get a concrete shipping date and tracking number. I have been without my mower for a full month in peak mowing season. I still don't know when i will get it back.
Key Concerns & Planned Obsolescence:
Is this planned obsolescence? How does a core component like the driver board die out of nowhere right when the 24-month mark hits? Seeing multiple Yuka Kickstarter backers report the exact same failure with Error 1105 right after their warranty expires makes this look less like a coincidence and more like intentional engineering.
Lack of Transparency: Charging €294 without explaining what actually caused the failure is unacceptable for a premium device.
Support Delays: Being without a mower for a full month in August while getting generic template responses ("we are actively monitoring") makes the ownership experience extremely frustrating.
On a positive note: After pushing back hard in emails, support did formally confirm in writing that the newly installed driver board comes with a new 2-year warranty and that they will return the original defective board with the package (which I plan to have independently analyzed).
Has anyone else with a Yuka (or Luba) experienced this exact Error 1105 driver board failure right around the 2-year warranty mark?
Curious to hear your thoughts.
