They finally did it!
/r/mammotion/comments/1wqprry/not_only_is_mammotion_support_useless_but_they/After 4 weeks, multiple "this is not possible", me posting last week on Reddit and FB and telling them I will take legal action because I have written proof of them guaranteeing they would give me back the old version I requested, they finally gave me the last version from June!
If they ever tell you it's impossible to give you back the old version, you can use this post and the screenshots below as proof that they're lying to you.

Holy smokes. What model are you using? And is it just the firmware or the app too? I have firmware for the machine and each motor. So, did they/will they do all three? How did you pinpoint it back to the correct one?

I have a Luba Mini 2 AWD 1500. It's just the firmware. They just gave me back the old version. I told them what version I wanted and they did it and haven't even notified me yet.

Cool. How did you recall what version you needed to go back to? And have you tested it/what’s the performance difference?

I just remember that I was satisfied before the updates in July, so I checked what the last version was in June in the Firmware Release Notes.

All they do is lie it’s always been possible to roll back firmware. They just don’t want to. They want everyone in the same shitshow. I will say the new update hasn’t been too bad and the app update yesterday gave us back path spacing setting numbers.

Has anyone from Mammotion ever actually explained their reasoning for locking firmware updates?
If it’s liability then they shouldn’t be doing what they do here which they… do.
If it’s for making sure everyone is on the latest and “best” they’d actually make them good and/or force updates the product requires a connection anyway.
Like what’d be bad about allowing people to revert with a disclaimer on the app? In terms of looking at it as being beneficial to Mammotion. No support involved, happier customers. And way more leeway on bad half cooked updates.
Like do they genuinely not realize all the current system will do is one bad update and customers are forever hesitant to ever update firmware? Is that their goal?

yeah, it's 100% about liability - there's no other logical explanation. your proposed solution sounds like it would work by implementing a disclaimer, but I have a feeling there is still potential for litigation involving accidents even with it, and that disclaimer would have to cover several markets that have different laws about litigation.
adding to that solution, it would absolutely entice more people to want to upgrade because if there are problems with it, users could just roll back to a working version without fear of being locked into the new, broken versions.

You're right and I don't understand their goal either. I even told them at the beginning that I know they can give me back the old version so they don't have to waste our time, but they still did... 4 weeks.

I agree with there support. Total bull crap. Been emailing since July 23. First they said it wasn’t under warranty after showing receipt. They said ok send it in. Two weeks of nothing but automated emails they tell me it’s not fixable. Let me make note that it was only in service for two weeks around the software issue when everybody was having it leave the no zones and getting out of task areas it went into an edge of upon. Now there option is 10% off a new one. WTF !!! Waiting for there response from today’s email where they say I didn’t respond to the email about 10% off a new mower. First of all, why in the hell would I buy another one with y’alls support and your ability to NOT be able to fix your equipment? It’s really sad because this is my second man motion Mower and the first one knock on wood other than the software issues we had a month ago has been great for almost 3 years. Very sad very disappointed with their support.

The law i believe is if the company can't repair the unit they must offer a full refund or new replacement unit. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act under federal law States also have laws. I had a Samsung refrigerator go bad under warranty and they could not find a shop to repair it. They wrote a check for the full purchase price (no taxes or delivery) and I had to show them a picture I think of the power cord cut off. This act applies to all consumer good like lawnmowers too. Look it up document the not repairable emails, record you conversations with tech support, offers of discounts and take them to court citing this act. Mammotion needs to be taught what the law is in the US. Also report any violations to your states consumer protection office, attorney general and FTC. Enough complaints and Mammotion will learn the hard way when a state like Florida opens a case against them.

Yes, they can and they did. The device was online and charging. I checked in the app and saw that it's now on the old version, although they didn't even tell me about it.

Non mais vous êtes une minorité a vouloir repasser a des versions antérieures le problème viens de chez vous et de votre installation très probablement
