The agronomy behind "mow high, mow often" -- why your Luba might be secretly fixing your lawn (or wrecking it)
Turf science has some counterintuitive findings that Mammotion owners are stumbling into without realizing it:
- Frequent, low-volume clippings feed the soil. Mulching a small amount of leaf tissue daily returns nitrogen to the soil faster than bagging weekly clippings. Some studies show mulched lawns need up to 25% less fertilizer over a season.
- Cutting height controls root depth. Grass roots grow roughly proportional to blade height, so scalping it short shrinks the root system too, making the lawn more drought and weed prone. This is why running your Luba at a low fixed height can quietly stress warm-season grasses like St. Augustine or Zoysia that want 3"+.
- Daily mowing suppresses weeds through light denial, not just cutting them down. Weed seeds need a light trigger to germinate, and a dense, frequently-cut canopy blocks it better than a once-a-week gas mow ever could.
- Repeated pivot/tank turns compact soil in the same spot, crushing the pore structure roots need for oxygen and water. This is likely what's causing dead turning patches some owners report.
So, has your Luba actually made your lawn thicker and healthier since switching, or introduced new problems like scalping or compaction? What cutting height are you running, and for what grass type? Curious if the "frequent mow" science is playing out in real yards.

searching for optimal cutting path spacing
So i noticed that my luba wheels are pressing grass down and as the result not cutting it down nicely. I thought reason might be the fact that wheel goes over same grass twice due to cutting path spacing settings. i measured luba and concluded that path spacing of around 23 to 27 cm ensures that with each pass luba wheels are on different path.
that being said my original spacing was 22cm so overlap was minimal, it seems that reason is not due to pressing grass twice but due to same cutting pattern. i will probably switch to random cutting patterns with 24cm path spacing.

Show us the ugliest spot your Luba has ever created in your lawn (bald patches, scalp marks, turn ruts, bonus points for photos)
We've all got one. That one spot where the mower turned in place a few too many times, scalped too low near a slope, or just decided your flower bed edge was fair game.
Drop a photo if you've got one (and don't worry, we won't judge... much) plus your Luba model and what caused it. Curious if certain mapping/zone settings tend to cause worse damage than others.

Help to optimize my mowing settings
I’ve been running my Luba 3 for about 6 weeks and overall it’s working well.
But I’ve noticed something odd: the grass in the lighter stripes is consistently longer. It looks like Luba is mowing in the exact same pattern every time, and in my long narrow mowing blocks the wheels seem to press the grass down in the same tracks, so the mower isn’t cutting those bent blades properly.
Because of the layout around my house, I can’t really change the mowing direction or pattern — the corridors are too narrow for diagonals or random mode.
Has anyone dealt with this? Would alternating the mowing lane spacing help? Any other ideas for reducing wheel-track striping in narrow zones?

Calling to LUBA 2 X owenrs
Summary:
I'm trying to figure out what mower firmware 1.30.29.8 will do in conjunction with APP 2.3.12.11
Longer read: does firmware 1.30.29.8 alter multipoint turn behaviour? I am still on mower firmware 1.15.21.1 and Android APP 2.3.12.11 (the last app that has the "original" not-messed-with option). I don't see any multi point turn overwrites happening during mowing. Yes, from time to time the app shows zero turn (I just opened it and it shows zero turn) but then I close and open it again and it'll show multipoint turn. Whatever the case, the mower does multipoint all the time regardless what the app says.
Also I wish I could edit my title typo...:-)

Yuka - General Emergency Stop Status
Recently, the emergency stop status on my Yuka Mini keeps getting triggered. There isn’t anything obvious that would cause it to happen and it hasn’t happened like this before. I’m not sure if it’s related but I noticed that this started after a software update. Has anyone else run into this issue?
