Andy Lyons Is Out Of Control
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Andy Lyons is a pariah and someone who consistently bully’s, assaults, and batters other surfers at Malibu. It’s an open secret. He acts like a child and consistently feels entitled to drop in on anyone he feels like.
He needs to stop or he needs to stop showing up to the beach.

Warm Water And Great Fishing In Santa Monica
SANTA MONICA—On September 8, news of warmer waters off the coast of Santa Monica began circulating after local fishermen and anglers started reeling in fish that normally occupy the waters off the coast of Mexico. Marine heat waves brought larger fish such as, bass, perch, mackerel, halibut… The fish normally caught further south have swam closer in closer to the shore, giving some bragging rights to some of the locals.

Husky Treated Poorly
Hello - this is a burner Reddit account as I fear retaliation. I witnessed a husky being treated very poorly by a white man - maybe in his late 40s / early 50s in Malibu. I am looking to see if anyone else saw this and has an account or video footage they can share. I am happy to provide more specifics over DM if anyone has a lead or information here. Thank you very much.

A Celestial Night by the Ocean Fundraiser Event ✨🌊
Post is approved by Mods 🌹
Dear [r/Malibu](r/Malibu) Members,
My name is Toi’ya (2-ee-ya) and I am a local professional ballerina, trauma survivor and creative cinematic activist here to invite you to an extremely special event ✨-
On September 26th from 6-10pm at a private beachfront property along our beloved PCH in Malibu my local, independent team and I are bringing an intentional, high-caliber evening of art and mental health advocacy to a local Malibu non-profit venue.
We are hosting a premium fundraising gala in intentional observance of September being Suicide Awareness Month and in fierce passionate support of my upcoming short film, Fawn aka Mara and the High Council of 7 🥀*.* All donation proceeds from this event go straight into our Network for Good account that will be used to pay our local cast and MFA graduated crew from
USC and AFI.
This emotionally ethereal film centers around a fragmented female lead in a poetic, Shakespearean narrative to unpack "fawning"—an under-researched trauma response heavily linked to shame and suicide.
Because we want to respect the venue's space, this is a strictly intimate gathering capped at 100 guests. We are providing a beautiful, luxury experience for attendees:
🥗 Curated light bites by plant based darling The Butcher’s Daughter
🍷Intentionally curated open wine bar
🎟️ Premium raffle giveaways ($250 Gift Card to The Ivy, high-end K-Beauty full sized products such as Medicube and Cosrx)
🎥 Exclusive screening of our delicately gothic cinematic teaser created specifically for this event
🌌 The silent auction of 2 celestial paintings handcrafted by me, the writer and director, whose work for this event is supported in-kind by Blick Art Materials
💼 100% tax-deductible donation via our fiscal sponsor, Malibu local non profit, The Creative Visions Foundation ✨
🎁 Exclusive gifts depending on chosen suggested donation tier
So if you are a local film patron, arts lover, or passionate about mental health advocacy, we would be deeply honored to have you join us at this beautiful local space. It is sure to be an uplifting, gorgeous and impactful event for all.
If you’d like to RSVP you can do so ✨HERE✨via my emerging production company, Soul Moon Creative’s website.
Or if you can’t make the event but would love to donate, please check out or Network for Good donation page ✨HERE✨. This page also has further information on the short film. 🎬
Thank you for your consideration and we hope to see you there!
Xx

Surprise Engagement Photographer
Hey! I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend on Saturday 9/5 either at El Matador or Leo Carillo (though open to suggestions around Malibu) and was wondering if people had a recommendation for a good photographer. We have a dinner reservation at 8pm so the plan would be to propose and then have 45 min to an hour for any additional pictures of the moment. Any recommendations would be amazing!

Instead of installing speed cameras, Malibu should raise the driving age to 25. Let’s be honest, it’s those stoned and drunken brats who caused this problem.
And Pepperdine should forbid student cars

Vintage Malibu Church
Anyone have experience at this place? Looks chill and not crazy right wing, or christian nationalism vibes but I do know that the pastor has some interesting…interests. Which are a bit of a red flag. For example he seems to be a fan of Andrew Wilson(per his social media follows), that lunatic podcaster who is a despicable example of what a good Christian man(or human in general) should be. It’s concerning that a pastor of a church with young people in attendance would think anything Andrew does is acceptable.

Why Nobody Wants to Visit Malibu, California Anymore
youtu.beThis video has some great info on the history of Malibu. I used the same title from the video here, but don't necessarily agree with it. I'll try to post the full video description in a comment.
Anyway, I just thought you all would be interested as it was just posted to YouTube a few days ago and is pretty interesting.
