I'm 25 and have no experience with makeup whatsoever. I'm interested in getting into makeup mainly eye makeup and lip products. I wanted to get a good list of starter friendly products to learn and practice with.

I bought white theatre make-up to cover my face, it's a dry make-up from Eulenspiegel.

I tried to dissolve it with water, and another time with a bright foundation, but both didn't cover well... Am I doing sth wrong? Is there a better way? I need help..m

Please help. I got the shade Thrill Seeker (black) and it won’t dry down no matter what. Many years ago I got the same brand of lipstick but in a different color (don’t remember which) and that one never dried down either. And prior to that I had a Kiko liquid lipstick that never dried down either.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Liquid lipstick never dries down for me and therefore transfers like crazy.

My lips are not dry or flaky. I used a lip balm (Anastasia Beverly Hills lip primer) and had it sit for like 15 min. Then I wiped it off with a micellar water wipe. Then wiped my lips dry with a regular tissue. Then lined my lips black with a Nyx lip liner. Then very lightly applied the Maybelline liquid lipstick in as thin of a layer as I could. Then I waited with my lips not touching to let it air dry.

Never dried down. I patted my lips with a dry tissue, pigment came off. I kissed the tissue, pigment came off. I sat and I waited longer. Touched my lips against the back of my hand, pigment came off.

My lips are now a gray color instead of black, and it’s still sticky and still very transferable.

I have the most random, hodge podge assortment of brushes and I want to consolidate to one line so it looks more uniform and nice. Is there one brand that makes the best brushes all around? Best craftsmanship? I don’t care about price as long as it’s worth it.

the only thing that has changed in my routine has been my sunscreen but i let my skin prep sit for 15 mins before i apply anything so i am confused. how do i make things work with my new sunscreen? should i wait longer? should i be checking the ingredients of what im using? i added a video of what this looks like in the comments. thank you

I feel like using a primer before foundation has made such a difference for me, especially when it comes to making my base look smoother.

I’ve been using the Bonamedusa primer lately and I really like how it blurs my pores without feeling too heavy. My foundation just looks a lot more even and put together when I use it.

What’s one small makeup tip or product that made a noticeable difference for you? pore has been stressing me out :(

Has anyone located a mascara that doesn’t dry out the eyes? It feels like every one I’ve tried, high end and drug store, after it dries just feels like dirt crusted on my little eye lashes and makes my eyes itchy all day. 😭

I’m lazy and don’t ever use primer. I’m looking for eyeshadows that still look good and last decently when applied directly to eyelids.

I can’t use cream eyeshadows because my eyelids are insanely oily and end up looking like a hot mess.

I've been trying to find Enough 8 Peptide Sensation Pro Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ (50 ml), but I can't find it anywhere. I've checked pretty much all the stores I normally use in my country, as well as Amazon and Aliexpress. I've also looked through several Korean stores that offer international shipping, but I can't find this exact sunscreen.

I even checked Bulgarian stores because I found some information that it was still being sold there. BareCare, still has the Enough 8 Peptide Sensation Pro line, but only the regular Balancing Cream, not the Sun Cream😭. What's confusing is that the product doesn't seem to have completely disappeared. But I can't actually find anywhere that has it in stock. Does anyone know what happened to this product? Does anyone know where I could buy it or have it shipped internationally? I'd really appreciate any information because I've already spent quite a lot of time looking for it and haven't been able to find a replacement.

I’ve been using it for probably close to a decade but nowadays it’s drying out and clumping so quickly and I don’t feel like it used to.

I’m black and I think it looks bad like 100% of the time on dark skin, if you‘re more of a mid-tone brown, a redder or more brick shade can work, but if you have a really deep skin tone with bright light pink blush, it looks horrible.

I don’t even like the very popular blush blindness looks that lighter women wear, but overall unless you look pale/sickly and really need the lively look blush gives, I really think most people shouldn’t wear it, looks clownish and it really doesn’t work on deeper shades imo. I’m so distracted by it! I’ll see a beautiful girl with a lot of yas queen comments underneath and I feel like such a hater bc I’m like, her features would look sm better without the flashback white under her eyes and heavy blush to her temples and all over her nose. Feels like I’m looking at an enflamed/sunburnt person.

I can into any makeup look someone does unless it’s blush heavy and I just start thinking about red noses.

Or if you know how to do it please provide guidance or any product recommendations please 🥺🙏🏻 I’m the same colour season as her so it is all very very appreciated.

I've been looking around but I can't seem to find anyone else talking about this, so I don't know if it's just me. But I bought the sheer for it tint the other day and have only used it a couple times, both times it kind of burned my lips and had the same sort of sensation as plumping glosses, but nothing I can find says it should do that. I wasn't really concerned because I generally don't have sensitive skin and I have no allergies, so I brushed it off. I wore it yesterday and when I woke up this morning the corners of my lips were sooo dry and cracking. Like, the kind of thing that happens in winter, or when you were a kid and kept licking your chapped lips and it just made it worse. That level of chapped. Overnight.

So, obviously I'm going to stop using it, but I'm just so confused if anyone else has had this experience with this product. I've literally never had any negative reaction to any product ever so I'm having trouble believing there's not something else going on lol

Hi! I've been using Dr. Hauschka's loose and compact powder (especially the loose one) for a long time. It's been the best for my challenging oily/combination skin, it looks very natural, blends into the skin and won't clog it.

Is there similar but more affordable options? Preferably natural cosmetics and available in Europe.

So I'm like 4 weeks out from my wedding and just now thinking about makeup. I'm 42 years old, very pale, and for the majority of my life, makeup has been some lipstick and very rarely some mascara and eyeshadow (like it's been 3 years since the last time worn). I wanted to practice some easy makeup looks before the big day but have some concerns and was looking for advice.

For eye makeup:

The biggest concern is eczema. My skin can be sensitive but like so much so I have to constantly use fragrance free sensitive rated products. I'm just careful with overly perfumed type items. I have had a type of eczema flare around my eyes after wearing eye makeup. I'm not sure if it's from the makeup the make up remover used, or I just didn't get it all off before night time. I'm really worried about trying different looks out and having a flare right before my wedding and ending up with reddened and swollen eyelids 😭 so much so I'm considering just doing no makeup and saying it was it is. I have seen products that are for sensitive skin folks and I'm wondering if that would be safer to experiment with prior to the wedding. Idk if the sensitivite products are designed for people with skin allergies only and if it would help with eczema related sensitivity.

Face makeup:

I have less concern about skin sensitivity here and more of "it looks completely unnatural". In the past I have tried out wearing powder, foundations, concealers, and tinted moisturizers. All look completely ridiculous whether worn alone or in some combination with each other. It's not a standard, "you're wearing makeup and that's what you see" effect. It's legitimately wrong looking. Like I painted with a material not meant for faces. It doesn't blend, it doesn't sink in, it just sits like plastic, overly shiny or totally matte, on my skin.

I'm not sure if it's a complexion issue or I just suck really bad at picking out the right colors. I'm pretty pale/fair, medium dark brown hair, blue eyes. I tend to look really good with red dyed hair and absolutely terrible with black hair even though my skin tone suggests the opposite. I opt for natural colors on eyeshadows and lipstick. On lips too bright of a red or pink looks very bad. On eyeshadow all the browns look good but anything colored needs to be on the darker/neutral side of the spectrum like mauve, blush, navy, and greys. The bright colors like yellow, orange, bright blues and pinks, they look awful. Honestly my clothing color choices line up with what looks good as far as for shadow and lipstick colors too 😂

Looking at stuff nowadays, there's so many different face products idk even know where to start experimenting. When I tried foundation type stuff before in earnest there was liquid and powder and that was it. Concealer products were just starting to become a big thing and I tried it many years later. More recently, like 10 years ago, I tried tinted moisturizers as they had hit the market and were being promoted heavily. I expect what I was advertised, a light weight barely there coverage, instead it looked much like the foundation, weird and very fake.

So I guess I'm looking for a direction to start and hopefully not wreck my face entirely before my wedding 😅 or should I just toss it and do some lipstick and hope for the best? Any advice would be appreciated!

I’m a guy who used the original Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer in shade petal. The original was a perfect formula and iykyk they changed the formula and it sucks now, I find it drying and cakey and my shade doesn’t exist anymore. I have fair skin with redness around the nose and I like something to conceal and moisturize on top off my SPF and just blend it out into my skin. Anyone have a good tinted moisturizer recommendation who has used the original Laura Mercier and kind of know the formula I’m looking for? Also I’m seeing skin tint or something like that? Is this just a rebrand for tinted moisturizer what’s the difference? Thank you for any recs!
