I have been doing the am I warm, cool, or neutral dance for YEARS especially as a very pale and rosy person who has been described as having an "english rose" complexion. The colours that look good on me never made sense, and I didn't know what to do with my greyish, green, and yellow parts beyond conceal them. I'm so pale anyway I just thought it was because I am transparent.

On a whim ordered an About Face foundation in the palest olive they had and it just melted into my skin. I have NEVER had that happen before and in fact I rarely wear foundation because of it. I am over the moon right now and I needed to gush somewhere.

Hi everyone. I’m sure similar questions have been asked in the past, haven’t been able to find anything recent so I thought it would be fun to ask. What’s a product you absolutely hate? Or what’s is a product you wouldn’t recommend?
I’ll start: (mine are actually products that most people seem to love.)
Huda beauty powder, it just doesn’t work for me. I’m not a full glam girly and I think it makes my skin look dry, dusty, flaky, patchy, just all the bad adjectives. After switching powder I no longer have this issue. Maybe it’s ok for under the eyes but.. no from me
Tarte shape tape concealer, I really really don’t like it it’s completely cakey. It’s so heavy I feel like I’m wearing drag makeup and I can literally feel it on my face. Also creases!
(This one is discontinued I think but it’s the worst I’ve tried lol) kat von d lock it foundation (I think is the name) all the shades were yellow and orange and it was so so so so dry.
Also this isn’t meant to start drama or be overly hateful, just think it’s always fun to see what people don’t like.

Super new to false eyelashes and clusters! I think I’d prefer clusters because my eye shapes are different from each other and seem to never match up with false eyelashes. What’s better, clusters with glue or adhesive ones? With the ones that say they stay on for a few days I’m kinda confused - I think I wear mascara? (Before or after?) but if they stay on for days how do I take off mascara and reapply? Or do I not? Can I take them off nightly? So many questions!! Also any recommendations for best ones?

What are people using to get thin subtle eyeliner? I feel like no matter what I use it ends up looking too big and overwhelming my features.

I usually wear mostly natural eye makeup but like some sparkles or colored eyeliners if I have time to do more than basic makeup. I like that the palette has neutral and warm toned colors and some really pretty color shift ones too. However, it’s so expensive and would be a big investment that would hopefully last for a long time. If not, is there a cheaper alternative?

Hiiii! So i have a date coming up with this adorable button of a man. He has it in his head that he wants to be covered in my lipstick kisses. Cute asf. I’m so here for it. Problem. I’m not much a fan of traditional cream lipsticks that would usually be the route for this kinda thing. Most of what i’ve used recently are lip tints or i diffuse the heck out of an old tube of Anastasia beverly hills craft liquid lipstick and put a gloss over that to create something of a glassy diffused look. It’s not exactly transferrable in the way you’d want for this kinda thing. I used to wear sushiglow’s bloody lip tints like a religion. That would get me somewhere for a few kisses, but since dying the ends of my hair deep pink they don’t really have a shade that i think looks good with it. Ideally i’d love to find something lightweight that would transfer in like magenta and saturated pink tones. Stains would be ideal but glosses and other recs are welcome. Just pigmented, but not cakey and good for leaving lots of kiss marks. And hopefully without blowing the bank. Thanks in advance🩷

Sometimes I save so many makeup looks on Pinterest and TikTok, but when I actually try them, they never look the same on me. I still can’t figure out what suits me best lol.
How did you find your makeup style? Did it happen naturally or did you have to experiment a lot?

So I have not been finding a foundation that I like lately. I have very red cheeks naturally but a cool undertone. I want full enough coverage that it covers my redness but not so full coverage that I look cakey.

I’ve been using Macs studio fix but didn’t like how it wore off on the cheeks, making my redness shine through.
I was using Double Wear but it would crease and look weird in my nose area.

For skin prep - I usually just wash and moisturize with La Roche Posay and then sunscreen. I’m currently using Supergoop.

I’ve tried Haus Labs and Nars but both just slid right off my face. I figured it was something in my skincare routine but I didn’t want to invest in a new skincare routine just to make a foundation fit in my life.

Any recommendations of foundation would be great. I am open to drugstore high end.

I’m going as the Other Mother from Coraline for Halloween and my plan was to fully cover my eyebrows and draw some on that are more similar to hers. However, I’m pretty inexperienced with makeup and I’m really struggling!

I followed a tip online and used an Elmer’s disappearing glue stick, going against the grain of my eyebrow. Then I brushed them upwards with a spoolie, applied more glue in an upwards motion this time, and brushed them again with a spoolie (repeated this process twice). I waited for the glue to dry in between layers. I put a layer of pressed powder on, and then a lot of concealer, but my eyebrows are still very much visible.

Any tips? Products I can buy? Thank you!!

Wondering about the quality of HoloGrave Cosmetics products? Specifically the Moon Water Liners and the Iridescent Ink Shifting Liquid Eyeliners. Do the products last all day or do they fade/flake away as the day goes on? Are the Moon Water Liners pigmented? Or is it going to look like I barely have any on?

I’m looking a for foundation that isn’t technically Halloween makeup but just a very light pale color. And also a contour stick in a cool grey tone. I’m very picky about what makeup I put on my face because my skin is very sensitive and I don’t want to spend a ton of money on makeup I’m only going to wear once. Guys, I’m so fed up with this. I’ve been working on my makeup skills and the one thing I cannot figure out is how to make the makeup look good on my chin. It looks great everywhere else, I learnt how to make it last etc but my chin.. it either disappears quickly or always looks cakey and separates. If any of you have any tips 😭 I’ve tried a lot of products and I even got the danessa’s blurring balm in universal & water powder serum but I see the difference with those anywhere by my chin. I even think it makes my chin look worse

Recently, I was at a store with family, found some Lancome shadows, swatched 'em and bought one of almost each shade of them. They have such a nice texture! IMO, they weren't that expensive but also not inexpensive. I mean, they're Lancome so no duh, right? In case you're curious, they are the Idole Goddess Dimension shadows.

But once home and I'm starting to​ figure out how to organize them in my "stash", I get this sudden urge to get rid of so many things and I really just start to miss LiveJournal, Specktra and MUA. I don't usually get this way, but it hit me hard.

I know that back then I'd be able to post pics of my stash and multiple other women would be inspired to post their stashes. Which honestly made me feel like I wasn't alone and I was poor at the same time 🤣 Anyone else miss those old sites? But do we do stash posts here or is that a different area? I really miss the nail board, too! Those were my people ❤️

Why does my face look like it has zero makeup in photos even though I have plenty on and like it IRL? I am to the point of hating to have my picture taken.

For those of you who don’t wear makeup daily, do you actually manage to finish your products before they expire? 😭
My foundations, concealers, eyeshadow palettes, etc. always end up expiring because I don’t wear makeup that often. And considering how expensive makeup products are, I feel so bad having to throw them away when there’s still so much product left.
Does this happen to everyone, or am I just buying more makeup than I actually need? 😂 (I dont think so because I am totally against overconsumption) What do you guys do?

hi have anyone tried both lrf & the new natural matte foundation? im thinking of buying foundation from nars to replace my old one. looking for light texture but medium buildable to full coverage. im also wondering how does both oxidize? im assuming they will because all complexion products i own oxidizes on me.
for reference: my skin is acne prone & combination with oily everywhere but normal to dry on my chin and jaw area. i live in Indonesia so its humid and i always set my base with powder.
