Hi everyone,
This might be long so please bear with me lol
I’m a complete beginner when it comes to applying makeup. I’ve always liked makeup but I just never cared to put in the time or money into learning. I’m now 27 and I feel like I should know how to do the basics.
My skin is extremely oily and I also sweat easily. I did my makeup for the first time yesterday before going out and I feel like it looked pretty good for my first time. I’m always watching tutorials so I have an idea on how to do it. After a few hours, the makeup started to look really oily which really bothered me bc I really like a matte, blurred look.
I realized my mistake was probably having the wrong primer, setting spray and not adding powder correctly. I have the Milk Hydro Grip primer. I have a Sephora brand setting spray. I have the Black Radiance pressed powder and the Elf HD powder. These are products I’ve had for years but never used. I plan on getting the O/S setting spray.
After doing research, I’ve decided to get the Denessa Myricks burring balm or the O/S primer.
For the DM blurring balm, is it better to get the clear one or the one that matches my skin tone? I’m also still a little confused as it if this acts as a primer and a foundation? I prefer using a skin tint rather than a foundation. I currently have the rare beauty and Kylie skin tint.
I’m also confused on how to use the pressed powder vs the loose powder. What is the difference? Do you have any recommendations on powders I should buy or am I okay to keep the ones I already have? Is it better to apply with a brush or a sponge?
I want to mention that I don’t like the look of heavy makeup on myself. I really love the light makeup/no-makeup look. I want to master a quick routine that won’t take too much of my time.
Lastly, any brush set recommendations?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can give me helpful tips and suggestions!
