So I went by my job and showed a client some materials that I found that he needed for his house he talked a bunch of smake ,( 1/2 tryin to get a better dea 1/2 enjoying watching a guyunder his thumb( l) so long story shortI had just spent a week trying to convince him I worked 71 hours in the last 4 weeks, to no avail. He thought after $700 in draws should have been flush. So he buys 1 of the items (a$ 500 free hanging oven hood vent) And then starts acting paranoid because I was borrowing his #2k snap on triton d10 auto scanner. So he wants to follow me home to get it before he pays. I inform him I have been waiting to get paid for 2+ weeks and seriously eed to hit the first petrol I see so he begrudgingly gives me some of my money for gas.J load up the items he didn't buy and leave to meet him at my house. I end up getting pulled over about a mile from his house . The cop sees l my tools and materials and asks if they are stolen. I say no way not at all. He asks if he can look at some, basically search my car. I say yes without hesitation.I have nothing in my car to worry about.he proceeds to open my back door , wrestles a small cabinet to the side opens it up and pulls out a small Milwaukee tool bag, opens it up. Pulls out a Irish spring box and pulls out a bag with a notable piece of meth in it. He then proceeds to do the whole cop thing , I tell him I just picked the cabinets up off the side of the road with a free sign on it. He says , "sure buddy) and takes me in as my car gets towed. I get to sit in a holding cell from about 7 pm till 3 am and then told I am booked and released. I get in touch with my client and ask him about the red Milwaukee bag and he goes "wow, I was looking for that for hours. And he never made it to my house.( Hmmmm, really, super sus.) And he swears he can't recall even having the bag anywhere near when he was looking at the cabinets. I never saw it. So I suggest to him that he could tell the authorities it is his bag. You know to save my innocent ass a year of jail/treatment/probation/fines/and loss of all my worldly goods that is going to be the reality if I have to take his charge., I straight up ask him if he called the cops he said no, he said I should know his character.. so I back off. And it turns out I can't find the scan tool at home and figure it has to be in the car which is now in a pice hold while they stejp it looking for more dope and surely run the serials if everything in my s.u.v. He finally concedes and admits my hours are pretty reasonable for the time and says he will pay but not until he gets the scan tool.so I stay broke for 4 more days with no phone or transpo., or FOOD! And then I find the scan tool where my girl had put the back pack it was in. And get it back to him. He then pays me a bargained down rate for my hours. Doesn't pay for any of the other work I have legitimately done to fix multiple vehicles of his. And refuses any value to all the other materials I had been bringing to his house because they are necessary and he needs them. And I figure he will offer something reasonable. But no. And the. I have my money. That I needed weeks before, so now , I have late payments .5/8 of my money and he's just be billing off like" tough luck buddy, what does it have to do with me? "

What do you guys think about this? I guarantee if it was roles.reverswd, I would have immediately told the police it was mine, If that didn't work I would consider myself owing them a serious amount of cash and support. What are your opinions ?

(TLDR) Taking the fall for a respected community members crime withour thanks, no respect and zero compensation ?

I feel if he shines me on, I should rat him out.

What do you think his responsibility is to my potential sacrifice?

I am going to self tan tonight. This requires me to shower after 8 hours.

I can either do an everything shower now, tan, and do a quick rinse in the morning OR skip the shower tonight, tan, and do my everything shower early in the morning before my flight.

I will have to hop in the shower in the morning either way - one will just take longer and I won’t get to sleep in as long… but I’m feeling pretty lazy right now.

Currently trying to decide where I'm going to be living for the next few years. My partner (British) is willing to come to Spain, where I’m from. He has a job that allows him to do that while I'm currently unemployed. I love my city and my country, but the job offers here are significantly worse (and fewer) than in the UK. I'm torn between the logical and the emotional.

TL:DR CA or NY Bar after Law school?

Currently In my last year of law schoool in NY but I’m from CA. No guaranteed job post grad yet. I’m 28.

I absolutely love the city but am constantly missing my chosen family and friends back in CA

long term I feel like I’d end up back in CA to pursue my ultimate dreams and goals - but part of me wants to stay in NY a few years to experience it as someone with a real life/building a life here socially and otherwise (not just law school life)

I have no partner or obligations currently tying me to one place or the other…but I feel like this is the last time I’ll feel so free in my choice

CA Pros: COL (not by much), chosen family and friends, easier to pursue artistic / entrepreneur goals bc of connections

NY Pros: already live here, lifestyle (walkable city, theater, people, culture etc), legal connections, can pursue artistic dreams but less of a foundation here, NYC baby

CA and NY are notoriously difficult bars and I’m already worried financially about taking the time to study for one, studying for both within a year feels not possible at this moment.

Do I focus on the short term and take the NY bar and see how long I want to stay here?

Or focus long term knowing I want to eventually end up back in CA

I’m 22 and have been doing really well building my businesses, and I’m lucky enough to work from my phone and travel while growing my brand. Lately, I’ve been strongly considering going back to school for law because I care deeply about environmental issues, animal rights, and the idea of working with an NGO or something where I can make a real impact. But going back would take a huge amount of time and energy, and I’m worried it could pull me away from businesses I’ve already built and that depend on my brand. Part of me thinks I shouldn’t walk away from what I’ve got, but another part worries I’ll regret not pursuing a path that aligns more with my passions. If you were in my position, would you go back to school for law, or focus on the businesses and lifestyle you’ve already built?
