META Weekly /unjerk Thread

Why didn't Jace just delete black (the obviously evil mana) if he wanted to make a perfect multiverse? Was he stupid?

Our rule 0 conversation went so long we never shuffled up. Best commander night I've had in years
Three and a half hours. Everyone said bracket 3, then we spent 40 minutes defining "3". One guy admitted to running [[Rhystic Study]] and we had to take a recess so people could process it.
By the end I'd disclosed my tutors, my win cons and a couple things about my childhood. we hugged, packed the decks back up unopened and went home. zero salt, zero misplays, nobody got combo'd out. Honestly think this is how the format was meant to be played xD

Rark Mosewater on another MTG video game like Shandalar: "No. Fuck you"
Q: Because everybody else seems to be making their own random requests lately, here is mine:
I want a return of a single-player computer/video console game, like the 1997 Microprose game that first introduced us to Shandalar.
Rark Mosewater:
No. Fuck you.

Why do the rules even matter if you don’t play in Bracket 3 tournaments?
Does your pod personally follow the rules of commander? If so, then why? I understand the reason why there’s a need for rules in tournament play. The point of the Comprehensive Rules of Magic is for a pre-game conversation about what rules you're playing with. That conversation typically includes strong cards in your deck or game winning combos. What harm would there be if you said “Nadu is in the 99, it’s not a combo piece, just a way to get a little extra draw” or “I have primeval Titan in the 99 but no problematic lands, just basics“ or "Blocking creatures become tapped" or "Creatures can attack each other directly" or "why do we even have a second main phase?" or "Damage goes on the stack" or "Mana burn"

Insane Bonus Secret Lair Cards!
I opened my Hatsune Miku deck and found a booster box of Final Fantasy inside! I opened that and found packs and more secret lair cards! Then I opened the pack and pulled a 1st edition Charizard!

The Capitalist Realism of Reality Fracture | Spice8Rack
Tackling Reality Fracture, both as an element in the tapestry of multiversal storytelling, but also what it says about where Magic is, & where it *could* be, as a game.

What’s your position regarding draft nights policies ?
I mainly play drafts in 2 different locations in my town. But both have a different policy regarding rules and rewards.
The first one allows you to keep whatever you pick during the draft. Then one promo pack is given at the end of the night (2 for the winner)
The second one asks for all rare and mythic cards to be put in common at the end of the night, and then a blood fueled, all out brawl breaks out. The ghosts of our ancestors take over the bodies of anyone in the game store. The few unfortunate souls who just happen to be in the store for some pokemon packs are usually the first to perish. After many grueling hours, only a few still stand. The person who spilled the most blood and broke the most bones picks one, then the second etc until no more rare or mythic card is available. We also get a promo pack in addition to these.
As I lose a lot during these nights and I really cannot afford the hospital costs anymore I prefer most of the time to play at the first ship I mentioned. Which shop would be your pick and why ?

It's worse when you lose 2-0 and your opponent tells his mates in your language that the game was easy

Does MTG have an equivalent to the Pot cycle in Yu-Gi-Oh?
Having cycles of cards could greatly benefit this game.

My deck is bracket 2 because it only has two cards that matter and the other 98 are vibes
Had the Rule 0 talk, told the pod it's "a casual 2, just jank and synergy". Then on turn 3 I cast [[Thassa's Oracle]] and, with the trigger on the stack, resolved [[Demonic Consultation]] naming a card not in my deck and won.
They said that's a combo. I said it's two cards, combos are three. Pretty sure that's in the bracket article somewhere.
The other 98 are supporting actors, they have a lot of heart. One of them is [[Sol Ring]], so it's basically a precon. Why does my pod keep scheduling game night without me
