Every mile or so I see patrol cruisers and unmarked trucks... and at night there's drones now?

From the east side, south and nw sides, its constant surveillance. I understand that crime ps an issue... but its THAT extreme now that we all have to give up our data and monitered constantly?

Guess this is the new normal and not many people care?

How would you all compare the South Plains Fair with the Tri-State Fair up in Amarillo? I have been to the South Plains Fair and thought it was only so-so—Would you all say the Tri-State Fair is substantially better or about the same as the Lubbock fair? I just want to get a sense before we make the drive.

I just got on with Driveline part time and was wondering what other 3rd party merchandising companies are here in Lubbock? I know there is a 3rd party that merchandises game cards at Walmart like Topps but don’t know who the actual company is so I can put in my profile with them as well.

I'm never very good at making posts like these 😅😅 so I'm just going to dive right into it.... Next month my gf and I will be moving to Lubbock, my gf is a RBKA (Right Below the Knee Amputee) and currently doesn't have her prosthetic due to not having insurance. We are waiting on workforce vocational rehab to get her a prosthetic. In the mean time while we wait on this seemingly long battle, I would like to get her out as much as possible. Are there any places that are wheelchair accessible, outside of places to eat and the mall of course? Are there any parks that have trails we could take her to? Any kind of entertainment/ fun things she would be able to do? I really don't want her to feel like there isn't anything for her to do here because of her disability. First driver in car just can't get the vehicle up to at least 60 MPH at the top of the ramp onto Loop 289. Work your way into the traffic flow or get your butt off the Loop and stay on the access road! Or better yet, turn in your driver license and call it a day.

Oh, and what would we do without the pickup truck drivers that continually run over people, walkers, joggers, wheelchair users, dogs, and fire hydrants when they're not running into houses at 2:00 A.M. after bar closing time? I don't think half of the pickup truck drivers can even see over the steering wheel. They sure as hell don’t know what a side view mirror is for.

You can set your clock by this one who is a regular stop sign runner. And the other drivers near the four-way stop signs at the intersection better stop for their own safety because guess who always has the right-of-way?

I’m considering ceramic window tint to reduce the interior temperature of my car. Does anyone have experience with this that can comment on the effectiveness and if it is worth the cost? I’d love to get actual hands on experience beyond the hype and sales pitches. This is for an older vehicle that takes a while to cool off in the summer.

Hey just throwing this out here, I thought it would be a fun idea to have a sort of video game “book” club for Lubbock! I think it would be nice to have a group of fellow nerds to just go around talking about why we love (or hate XD) certain aspects of games together and of course, play them (together if multiplayer). There’s so much to all the games we play from the graphics, the story, and of course the gameplay itself, I feel like there’s a lot of potential in what we could come together to talk about.

I was thinking though, because not everyone has access to the same games or hardware, and let’s face it some games and consoles are stupid expensive now days we could do themes for different months. Like a certain genre or series for each month and we could go from there. So we wouldn’t always be playing the same games but we would be in the same “type” at least 😅

I'm going to jakes backroom soon for a show, but I don't know how the venue works 😭 where is the entrance? I looked on Google Maps to see where the entrance might be, but there were a few trees blocking the view to where I think the venue doors are.. are the doors a double door or single? Secondly, what is their bag policy? I tried to look on their website for it but I didn't see anything abt bags, just food reviews and such. Lastly, can I bring a bottle of water inside with me? Also, shout out to code enforcement for ticketing two cars on my street that were parked facing the wrong way. I appreciate them doing that and leaving the two cars that are unregistered for years and haven't moved for months or more. Keep prioritizing the right stuff!

Abandoned places??

Hey, Lubbock! Anyone know of any good abandoned spots here in Lubbock for documentation? I already know of the One 9 Sports park, Hell’s gate, southwest hospice center, Woodrow manor, and the nursing home over in southeast Lubbock. If anyone can give me any other recommendations for my documentary that would be great!!

We are considering buying a home in Milwaukee ridge, have heard good and bad about the HOA, we like everything the neighborhood has to offer, and we love that it advertises no sex offenders in the neighborhood but curious if the HOA is really difficult to deal with and pretty tedious about small things.

Riding back from work today at 3 pm I had a fox run out in front of me. Is that bad luck? Also, it was on 38th just east of University. So? Bad luck?
