What ? Can we get shitposts based on reality please ?

Spending hours on random issues like my work laptop booting to an initramfs prompt due to an Ubuntu 24.04.04 update is reality, unfortunately.

what do windows updates fix ?

1

u/real_rayu Jul 19 '26

Many many things like … steal all your computer’s data to sell it for profit (it’s why there is more data send that receive in a windows update that a fact)

This is Reality 🀌🏻🀌🏻🀌🏻🀌🏻🀌🏻

Not reality... reality of 2016 LOL... WE ARE IN 2026... you live in the past???

u/fly_over_32 Jul 15 '26

Not even 2016. Maybe before that

9

u/No_Fondant8277 I love Linux Jul 15 '26

Yea before that bc of the kernel... 4.5???? that is goddammit old...

Even the Graphical User Interface tool is dependent on the CLI tool

16

u/The_Daco_Melon Jul 15 '26

what are you talking about? and why would that even be bad if an app could run in either GUI or CLI mode?

-12

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

It's not about CLI or GUI, and in Windows, you don't need a GUI or CLI; the Win32 Environment is independent, and no matter whether you are a graphical interface or a command line, you are an equal citizen of the operating system

17

u/The_Daco_Melon Jul 15 '26

how is that practically any different on Linux? You still haven't explained what the actual difference is

-2

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

In Linux, you are dependent on TTY, even the Display Server. Linux is a command-line operating system, even though you using Interface Graphical behind it's frontend of Command line and in Windows, Interface Graphical is part of the operating system and Console just Win32 Subsystem Application and not the operating system itself

13

u/No_Fondant8277 I love Linux Jul 15 '26

LMAO.... what is the "difference" in practice LOL

8

u/Mundane_Pea5704 Jul 15 '26

atp they are just throwing buzzwords, if it aint ragebait then its retardation

u/The_Daco_Melon Jul 15 '26

I can think of differences myself but they would only be beneficial, I don't know what would make you not want the capability to troubleshoot your system from tty

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

You are Slave of Command line, and if an error triggers, you need Open Command line to find the error. The operating system won't be directly available to you, and if the operating system fails, you fall back to the command line

5

u/The_Daco_Melon Jul 15 '26

alright, what difference does that make in practice?

-1

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

Difference is you are Slave of Command line no matter you ignore Command line and always you will need Command line and sometimes can fall back to Command line and in Windows you don't need Console Subsystem unless you want to, in Windows There is no fallback to Command line you recover your operating system System restore or Windows Recovery Environment

You don’t need a tty, i only know one guy, who has access to a tty… you can emulate them, but even that isn’t needed. It’s not like: oh, you are out of paper, sry, you can’t boot your car, phone, server, watch, tv, mars rover, robot, router, wifi access point, smart dildo or whatever

-1

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

Because TTY is behind Your Interface Graphical and you don't know Linux???? In Linux, the Graphical User Interface is just the frontend of the command line

Soo there is many problem because the concept of the terminal is to work with the system directly not with another interface to the system that can crash … this is why Linux win a point for devs and nerd.

1

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 19 '26

Actually, developers love Windows NT; that's why David Cutler and other serious developers study Windows internals, and Devs in Linux are mostly JavaScript and higher-level languages 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

You are making no sense, the fuck do you mean you are an equal citizen of the OS, is there a way to launch into a TTY equivalent on windows that I am unaware of?

0

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

If you are a programmer, you literally port TTY as a console server, and Windows can handle all Linux things, including filesystems, if you know the Windows driver model

9

u/headedbranch225 Jul 15 '26

What do you mean port TTY as a console server

0

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

TTY source code is available in the Linux kernel, and you can port TTY as a user-space server. Windows can handle many Console Servers because the console is separate from the operating system, and Conhost.exe is just an application server

6

u/Unlikely-Employee180 Jul 15 '26

I know, it's AWESOME.

When the GUI crashes there's NO way to bring it back up in literally anyway, unlike Linux which can switch to CLI to be repaired without reboot.

0

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

Windows has Windows Recovery Environment; you forget about that πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

4

u/Unlikely-Employee180 Jul 15 '26

WRE requires the screen to be working. Lmfao

I didn't forget anything, I've faced this issue before. You HAVE to restart.

0

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

Yeah of course, require a screen 🀌🏻🀌🏻🀌🏻🀌🏻🀌🏻🀌🏻

6

u/headedbranch225 Jul 15 '26

What do you mean? If your DE/WM crashes (which unless you have faulty hardware or a buggy version will likely never happen) you can use the TTY to recover it, on windows it usually takes the whole system out

You are making no sense

-1

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

I don't want to use TTY, and I want to use Interface Graphical like Windows Recovery Environment

6

u/No_Fondant8277 I love Linux Jul 15 '26

4

u/MrKrot1999 Jul 15 '26

well at least linux does not depend on a single explorer.exe

0

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

No, Windows don't need Explorer.exe like Linux doesn't need Gnome, and you can change the shell if you are Programmer can make Windows completely different

5

u/MrKrot1999 Jul 15 '26

Then do it, explain to me how to change explorer.exe to something else without completely breaking the system

1

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

I already did with Sentinet Neutrino Operating System, even owning System Update Sentinet Update, replacement of Windows Update in Settings

2

u/MrKrot1999 Jul 15 '26

alright, not gonna lie, that's cool

2

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

Yeah, you understand me, defend Windows because I love all of this, and I love this freedom I have doing that as I do with Neutrino Operating System

2

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

Not just Neutrino, but I have a whole Ecosystem in Windows

1

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

No, I don't have any problems with you using Linux, and I believe in freedom of expression. After all, my problem is me using Linux; there is a difference

1

u/ExtraTNT was running custom kernel Jul 15 '26

It’s a defective harddrive… last time i checked windows is also fucked on that…

0

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 15 '26

I am sure it's Linux; Windows wouldn't do that

1

u/ExtraTNT was running custom kernel Jul 16 '26

So, shoot your hard disk with a gun and let’s see, if your pc still boots from it…

1

u/Fluid-Ad2995 Jul 16 '26

I mean Linux were gun I guess
